That's a good idea - I agree some of the yoga poses might not be good since they require being on your knees - I'm sure if they have a good yoga instructor you could modify in some manner. Sounds like fun!!
I'm a member at the local LA fitness, and they have this. My right knee has only 40 % of its lateral meniscus so I am trying to be careful. I figured I'd start with the bellydancing class (also looks super fun) and maybe yoga, though I am afraid of some of those poses and what they'd do to my knee.
Good job on the quick recovery. Did your doctor tell you 6+ weeks before doing anything strenuous? That's what mine said. With that though I have been able to bike at the gym at lunch and then walk in the evenings. I say just listen to your body. In response to your question though - I have never tried that but it sounds like a lot of fun and really low impact! Maybe they have a test class you can take for a few days to see if your knee will handle it (kind of like the gyms have - 10 day passes or something). Way to go on the weight loss!
They look sooo fun! They've also gotta be easier on the knee that's had surgery than a Zumba class. Does anyone know how long I should typically wait until I can try a class at my gym? My surgery was February 3 and I feel fab since I started taking off the weight (even though it's only like 14 or 16 lb in so far)
