I have the New Balance Lifetracker (or something like that). It's one you wear on your wrist, it's also a watch. It measures steps, mileage and calories burned. It was free from work as part of our Bee Fit program. :)

I don't like pedometers, every time you jiggle a little or cross and uncross your legs they record a step. It's so inaccurate.

Has anyone tried the SP brand of tracker? If so, how does that one compare to others?

Still trying to program my pedometer. Doing max and min heart rate having problems programing it. So for now it's on the shelf. I have another pedometer which uses movements. I love it.

Wow! Great info! I've been looking into a pedometer so I can track at work. My job involves a lot of walking and other physical activity. Looks like I'd better start saving! emoticon emoticon

Fitbit zip: absolutely brilliant. It clips inside my bra. Because it measures your distance travelled by GPS,(as well as your steps) you don't need to set up your stride distance, and it compensates for shorter or longer steps. It also works out the calories burned, not just during exercise, but at night etc, and you can add in extra calories burned at times when you're not walking, for instance swimming, or cycling. It's a great interactive motivator.

I tried Pedometer Pro-GPS on my cell phone. It did not work well at all. It gave me 17 steps while I was standing still-talking on the phone. Or maybe I was talking a mile a minute?

I've heard GREAT things about the Fitbit One. I'm saving for one of those.

The FitBit Zip is the most accurate one I've had and it calculates steps and time across a whole day, separating it out for you. It's 59.00

I just picked up one at WalMart yesterday, and I'm liking it so far. Its a wrist watch made by SportLine, and doesn't seem to count false steps when moving your hand. Came in at 1758 for 3/4 mile on the treadmill last night, which from everything I've read is right in the range it should be for (2344 steps to the mile); it's also does heart rate, and all of the stuff you would expect a sports wristwatch to do (stopwatch, alarm, all that stuff)

I purchased a Fitbit the $59 one. You can get them at Staples, look for their coupons, I got mine with a 20% discount. I like it and wear it attached to my Bra the clip on the outside. This leaves no tell tail sign on your shirt or blouse. Love that it counts all my steps has kept me motivated. I might upgrade to the one that counts stairs.
You are able to enter steps climbed in the Fitness section of Spark. so I try to keep track of how many times I run up and down at home

I have an Omron that calculates steps and calories but would like to track other activities, as the Omron doesn't like to count Zumba and other classes. I have ordered a Fitbit and so looking forward to getting it! Heard such great things.

I have 2: A Fitbit. I like that it counts stairs as well as steps. I usually wear it on the pocket of my pants. I also have a Bodymedia Link. It's an armband that does steps and also will monitor a bunch of other stuff like sweat and the like. The two are never the same so I just average them.

I'm another who has the Fitbit. I really love it. It isn't quite as accurate when on my bra (it slides on, more than clips on), so I've started to wear it on my panties about 2 or 3 inches from the hip seam (works best when the panties aren't too loose, too LOL). I bought a little strap to attach it to that also clips on so it catches the Fitbit if it slides off (usually as I pull down my pants on bathroom trips). Once in a while it doesn't count correctly when I've done a flight of stairs, but for the most part it's great. And I like the fact it has a website that the data gets sent to to keep track of things, too.

The one I have and use is an Oregon Scientific, have had it for a few years and like it better then my free one from Nature's Bounty that one fell off all the time and the buttons would always get pressed and I would never have an accurate step count. The Oregon Scientific one I have clips on, I clip it on my pants but it could be used in a pocket, I like it cause it has a cover thing so none of the buttons on it can get pressed by accident if it were to fall off or if you dropped it when taking it off or putting it on. It also has a miles, steps, time and a light for looking at it in the dark or low light, it also has a slide switch so if you are the type that takes big steps or really small ones you can adjust it so it can calculate correctly.

I have an omron type that does not need to be clipped onto my waistband. I can drop it in my pocket or use a safety pin on the ring to hang it from pants with no pockets. Love it.

I just ordered my second omrom pedometer , you can wear it in your pocket, clipped on , it comes with softwear to log into your computer, got mine from heartmonitors USA for 25$ free shipping , the other one I had lasted for years until I wore it completely out (the clips broke etc , I think I had it 5 years ) so it was time for a new one, you can change the batteries in them they are great. they track steps, distance, calories, time . I use to wear mine a lot up on my top just because often I am in pants without pockets so I clip it at the neck of my top .

I have a Fitbit that clips on my bra. I love it, it keeps track of steps, calories, miles and floors (stairs) and has a flower that grows when you are active. They are a little spendy $80 but they sync to my computer and it logs everything. Their site for basic is free.

I have horrible luck with pedometers. If they're on my shoe, I lose them. If they're on my waist, they usually pinch or hurt my love handles. LOL I recently got a pocket one but it doesn't seem to calibrate correctly at all.

Any one have a reasonably-priced one that they like and can recommend?

Thanks!!
