I didn't get here to post my weight yesterday. I can't believe that today is the end of the month already!

Jan 1 - 188.8
Jan23 -186.2
Jan 30 - 185

So in January I went down 3.8 pounds (recycled weight loss though)

Sorry I haven't replied in a while. Things got a little bit away from me. Mary- thank you for giving me a good swift kick about "tomorrow". That's why I put it down in words, so you all would get me going. I did get my workout in when I said I would, and did well that week. Then I quickly got out of it. Somehow, I have managed to drop a few pounds though. I guess just staying active, and I know that nursing the baby is still helping. I am now down 1 pound from where I was before I got pregnant. This week will require lots of will power, as dfil is in town for my birthday, and he and the children plan on making a scrumptious cake. Oh my!

Sorry I disappeared. My mom dropped in Wed. Then on Friday we had some on here to inspect our moving damages. They are still debating with us if they damaged our goods in the move and if they are going to repair/replace them. I spent most of the week in a stressed out mode....and eating as such.

Paliz - I am finally here. I'm going to catch up on this thread.

I did make goals for the year - and I blogged about them if anyone is interested.

Mary - I don't know what your family dining plan is like. We eat Breakfast and Dinner (evening) together as a family. At lunch, my kids and I eat generally left overs or sandwhiches. I often will make something for myself that is good for my goals. I like to eat a lot of protein and veggies or fruit. I will make a salad, or have cottage cheese and fruit, or tuna/salmon on a bed of lettuce. So, I would say, go for it in having beans and rice for lunches. Great if you can make a bigger batch and portion it out. That cuts down on the work and your lunch is there ready to go.

As far as the breakfast talk - Dr. Oz says to eat 30g of protein within 30 minutes of waking that will help rev your metabolism. If it is hard for you to eat, try a protein shake. It does really work.

And exercise vs. food. Exercise is great - for me the easier part of the equasion. But food is 80% of the battle. So I need to spend more time working there! And, I have been focusing on logging everything. I'm certain that if you all logged that food, you would get the reuslts you desire.

So, after that speech, I am off to log my food.

Wow, I'm starting to feel like I'm talking to myself. I hope you are all busy and not sick.
I did great exercising this week but not so well with food. Weigh in wasn't bad today, down almost 1 pound but I'm still higher than I was in December

Paliz - thanks for dropping by with a goodie. I think I just lost this thread somehow. Been busy, but who hasn't. I will drop in later to read and catch up with everyone here.
I have to run shortly to meet a lady from church as a castle where her son's wedding will be. I will be helping in the kitchen so we are taking a tour today.

Great job Mary! Sorry to hear about having to repeat lunch so much though.

I didn't check in on Friday. I'm doing the whole yo-yo with weight right now which means I'm up again. I really need to focus on my water again.

Hope everyone is having a good start to their week.

All week I have had left over chili as my lunch and a reasonable dinner, some little snacks here and there.. I happen to like chili, but chili every day mon-fri both last week and this week, just because hubby had asked for i then no one else had eaten it was getting boring....but if it gets the type of results I experienced this week I will take it....

Welcome Kristie! It is always nice to have a new face join our accountability thread. Do you have any specific techniques or plans in place to help you achieve your goal of 1.5 lbs a month?

Liz, every other day on exercise is a nice pace.

I am doing well. As long as I don't allow myself to indulge because I see I have been making progress I should see a loss on the scale on this weekend.

Happy Friday Everyone I'm calling this week a success and not worrying about my slip ups. I'm down 3 pounds from last week but still higher than I want to be. I exercised 5x this week, I've increased my water intake and I'm reading a great book about waiting for your hunger pangs before eating and just something about this book is really clicking. It's called the Eden Diet and I got it free from Amazon on my kindle the other day.

I'm not sure where Running is but I did see in my friend feed where she said it was snowing again. Maybe she somehow missed the start of the new thread.

Mary, How's your week been going since Wednesday.

Throwing this out for all of us- Stopping think that just because you had one slip in the day you have blown it for the whole day and will get "back on the wagon tomorrow" get back on the wagon right that moment and don't beat your self up for you slip up. ( I read about that this morning and it made a lot of sense to be and so I thought I would share)

For a long time I replaced breakfast with green smoothies, but it was back when I had a hunger when I first woke. Now I don't tend to feel hungry until near 11 am. Which is about thetime the kids ask for lunch. I eat dinner with them, then have "munchies" if I stay up late. But muchies can be controlled with water consumption and fruits, veggies, or that texas caviar recipe i posted in the recipe swap thread (it is great on a salad) or some chips.

Mel congratulations on cutting back on the hot tea. I wish I was as well organized as you to avoid fast food.

Liz, congrats on the water consumption. You will getthings under control if you keep building those habits up.

Hello Ladies~

It's been hectic here too. I've been drinking less of my hot tea. Need to make another run to the store as we run out of the fresh stuff quick; lettuce, and all the yummies that go with it and fruit too.

I used to avoid eating breakfast too. My body doesn't do well with "breakfast type" foods. Then I read a book that suggested eating fruit and that changed my eating for the better in a lot of ways.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I've some some success and some failure this week. My successes include drinking more water (I actually got up to 80 oz yesterday) and exercising regularly since the new year. My failures are going over my calories and having bread down points where I just eat unhealthy stuff.

Mary, getting back into rountine is always hard and coop can add a wrench in that. Yesterday I got the book Eden's Diet and so far one thing it has mentioned is not eating based on the time of day but based on hunger pangs so maybe you just aren't hungry at breakfast time? I'm worried I'm not going to see what I want to see on the scale come Friday so I can understand why you didn't want to step on the scale today.

Wednesday check in. Yesterday was hectic. It was the first day of co-op. i found out last minute that one of my children had required supplies. . Anyways... I am here. I am still trying to make the effort to eat 3 meals a day. Adding breakfast back in has felt like a challenge. I am not checking m weight this morning. I don't feel I am making any progress there yet.

Happy Monday! So my Friday plan didn't go so well and the weekend wasn't great. But today is a new day and I have started it off well! I've exercised and I had a good shake. I'll probably have a morning snack too. I hope yo all can put your best foot forward today and not beat yourselves up for what (if any) mistakes you made over the weekend

Mary, I'm in a similar boat meal wise and I've decided that at least through the week I'm going to just have to have something different from the family. I'm hoping that I can plan and prep for me and then it won't be such a big deal.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, i do it tomorrow... It's only a day away! I love you Chickybabe. You can start Tomorrow, but if you are still saying tomorrow next week.... ;-)

I have eaten breatfast every day this week...Had a nice bowl of raisin bran. I weigh myself every day, but only record my weigh on Saturday. I was so excited Thursday when that scale was showing a good loss. Then I got up today... What did I see? 207... Over the week my loss became a lowly 0.2.

This week, i will continue with eating breakfast everyday. I need to make a better meal plan for lunches and dinners, maybe adding more beans into our diets? I could live eating beans and rice. I love the combo, but my family does not. Maybe I should consider as a lunch option for just myself, but I dislike the idea of having a different meal than everyone else. What are your thoughts?

Good goals Paliz. I stepped on the scale today, and was surprised with the number. It says I've lost weight, but I don't really believe it. It did give me a boost of confidence though, so...I need to get busy doing some form of exercise. I need to tone my mid section, and strengthen my core. I have the 28 day bootcamp dvd, and have told myself that I need to start using it again, but that's as far as it has gotten in the past 4 days.

Keep me accountable ladies...I must start my dvd, and will do so tomorrow.

So it's time for my friday check in.

first the positive: I exercised 4 times this week and completed c25k week 1.

now the negative: my weight is up and probably the highest it's been in 6-8 weeks. and before you say the scale doesn't always mean what it says, my work pants were tight when I put them on yesterday so I knew the scale wasn't going to be nice this morning and had already started thinking about what to change.

Here's my plan. I've got my exercise plan covered. I didn't want an eating plan right now but I need one. I have made 2 long term goals and 1 very short term goal. The 2 long term goals are no soda and drink 8 oz of water every hour (not through out the hour but in one shot) the very short term goal is to cut out processed foods today.

so that;s my check in. i hope everyone has a good weekend.

I need to cut back on drinking my hot tea. While I was sick, I drank a lot of water and that has got me back on track.

I haven't been around here for awhile but I am determined to get the rest of my 50 pounds off. I have already lost 10.5 since the beginning of December, but I know I need the support and accountability from my fellow Sparkers to help me. I am trying to get back on track with my water drinking (I had the flu last week and just can't get back on track with water yet) and my exercising. I am also focusing on making good decisions about food and not beating myself up if I make a bad choice, but getting immediately back on track after the bad decision. I am also working getting myself better organized so I don't feel scattered all the time. I am here not only to ask for support, but to also offer support so let me know how I can help you too.

Have a Blessed day!

I am checking in. I am working hard to improve my food choices and portions. I am trying to make sure I cut back my processed foods again and go back to eating breakfast. I think I will make progress again this way.as it is i have wavered back and forth over the holidays between 205-207 and to be honest I gladly take that over gaining lage amounts of weight. My goal for the month is to try to get to 200.

I also have a March deadline goal of being able to participate in our co-ops 5k. So today was c25k week 1 day 2. I'm also doing some strenght training (especially core and legs as they seem weak plus I'm still battling the tenditis in my right wrist). I did get on the scale yesterday just to see where I was starting the new year and I didn't like the number. However, I feel I have less control over that and so I'm focusing on the things I do have control over. I know I should start tracking my food but i really dislike doing that. I'm sure I'll get back to that but it's not on my list right now because I don't want to overwhelm myself and set myself up for failure.

Amy. we all have felt that way. Sometimes it's the kick start we need to start making better choices.

I am determined to lose the 60 lbs I am carrying around this year. I went clothing shopping today at Gordmans and ended up in tears when I looked so horrible in everything :(

I did 2 treadmill workouts today and I joined the January Jump Start challenge here on SP. I bought new running shoes too, as I am hoping by March I'll be up to running speed on the treadmill...and actually be able to run. My goal is to eat better, exercise more and lose the first 25 lbs by my birthday the end of March.

This WILL be my year, I am so tired of being the fat girl.

Amy ♥
