Wednesday check in! So Sandy wasn't as bad as they thought she would be and thankfully we didn't lose power for any length of time (just long enough to have to reset the clocks) I did end up working 8.5 hours yesterday and I am not use to that. However, I got my exercise in before going to work and I think I am now getting back on track after a 2 week hiatus. Course that meant restarting my fitness blender thing but that's okay.

So if anyone is looking these "out of the box" ideas are repeats from a few weeks ago.
Do 30 extra squats over the course of the day
When on the phone, pace around.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Mary, I would love to see pictures of your costumes. I'm sure your kids will love them.

I have a Cheshire cat from Alice in wonderland and, Link and Zelda from the Legend of Zelda video game (look at that in addition to having a computer and a television in my house we also have a video game console, but my children are anything but sedentary while playing it....my gosh the disservice we are doing to them....) I have a little more to accomplish and they are done enough for pictures. They did not turn out as well as I had hoped, but maybe next time I will devote a month each into costumes and then I will get more the desired results. Since we use the costumes as year round dress up clothes I don't mind the time invested into them.

Paliz, I hope you don't lose power. I know it is a possibility, but one can have hope that Sandy stops her tantrum early right?

So last night I had glorious plans for today only to wake up with a horrible sore throat (although only on 1 side) and the need to spit lots of mucus. This is not how I wanted to start my week. Oh and Sandy is come like right towards us so if you don't see me for a few days it's because we lost power.

Both my nutrition and fitness were absolutely shameful this week! No reason, just haven't been putting forth any real effort. emoticon My weight went up 1.2 lbs. from last week.

Mary, you rock! Those numbers have been coming down consistently for a while now. Keep up the great work! Did you get your costumes done? What are your kids going to be dressed as?

Paliz, sorry about the plateau. It can be frustrating, but I'm glad you're ok with it. You have a healthy lifestyle now, and that's what is important here.

Runningoma, your last 2 weeks may not have been your best ever, but I don't think they're too bad. From the amount of motivation you've shown here in the past, I know you'll get back to where you want to be in no time!

Have a great week everyone!

Mary those numbers are looking great! Ihope you get your customes finished.

So I'm either at a plateua or just not suppose to go lower because I'm back up to what has been a pretty normal number here lately. I'm sorta okay with that. Any ways hope everyone has a great weekend. They are calling for a nasty storm to hit us come Monday into Tuesday.

I wasn't scared away. I am just trying to work on finishing up our costumes and clean house. In the next few weeks hubby's aunt and uncle are going to be coming to town and I want to have things in order for that visit. Every Tues is my co-op day and I run all day.

I am here. I am going to have to do better. I made up a new "challenge" for your daily ideas ;-)... I figured you could add to there... I am trying to do something to imspire some other team members to start chatting in here ;-)

Happy Monday to you all! Okay, so my Monday isn't starting out very happy but I can't say I was blindsighted to anything that is happening either. So I was thinking this weekend. October has been a less than stellar month for me exercise wise and I really need to pick something and commit to it for while. Then I got to thinking that in just over 2 months we are going to be making New Year's Resolutions emoticon So not that I have any answers myself yet but I'm challening you and myself to make those resolutions now so that you can be making new ones for 1/1. I know I need to pick something and just be consistent. When I figure it out I'll let you all know.

Oma, I can see why you don't feel like you've done so great the last 2 weeks but today is an new day and new week and I'm sure you can get back on track.

Yen great job on the loss.

Mary, slow and steady will get you there.

I went down a pound his week (I think- I weighed myself 3 times and it was fluctuating between 1 and 1.6 pounds). I'm thinking it may be due to the fact that I need to be drinking more water, so it may reappear at next week's weigh-in. We'll see.

I hope everyone is on the mend!

So evidently in order for me to lose weight I need to be sick with a sore throat and just not feel like eating for 1/2 week because this week I have had the biggest loss tht I just don't believe the scale. My husband stepped on it promptly after me and assured me that it's correct but I'm not sold, just going to enjoy the week for now. I am feeling better finally but not 100%. My child with strep is also feeling better, thank you anitbiotics. I hope everyone has a great Friday and a good weekend.

We have illness in the house as well people throwing up, coughing like barking seals, etc... It is just not like my family to get this sick. Maybe it is because we are out and about so much more here than we were in DC.

The pumpkin bread is gone, and I can no longer consume it. The recipe I had made had 3 cups of sugar in it! (even if it did make more than 2 dozen muffins) To think i made that recipe on a night in place of just going out and buying a candy bar. I think I would have been better off with the candy bar. It wouldn't have lingered as long even if i did cost me as much on calories for a muffin or so...

Yen, congratulations on maintaining. That is a wonderful accomplishment. I will look over the new website soon, I am a bit distracted costuming.

I'm so sorry ladies. i didn't get back to the computer yesterday and today 1/2 of us our not feeling well myself included. However if you are feeling up to it here is some extra for you.

Do 30 squats sometime over the course of the day. Or everytime you are on the phone pace back and forth.

I'm hoping to be back in the saddle again tomorrow.

Mary, I hope the pumpkin bread has come to an end and you'll see a loss at the end of the week.

Yen, good job maintaining, I think that can be just as hard as losing.

Running-how are you doing this week?

Well, my goal is not to gain any weight. This week I did that and not one bit more- my weight stayed exactly the same. I'm happy enough.

Paliz- I like the idea of sharing the daily challenge. I only reply to posts on my weigh-in day, but I usually read them as they're posted throughout the week.

Mary, pumpkin bread is so yummy! Can you find a recipe here with less sugar? I've found so many great healthified recipes on this site! Another site I like to look at for healthier comfort food is Heavenly Homemakers (it's a blog). She's really into organic, and has a lot of yummy but healthy desserts (and regular meals too, but desserts are way more fun!).

Runningoma, looks like you're doing well this week. Keep up the great work!

Have a wonderful week ladies! Hope you're all enjoying the gorgeous fall leaves before they're gone. Mary and Running, if you don't have any where you live, here are some for you

That is a great idea! I just have to make sure that I check in DAILY so I don't miss the challenge! I sometimes challenge myself that every time I (for example) walk in the kitchen, I grab the countertop and do 10-15 incline pushups. I did that 3 times yesterday - of course I was in the kitchen more than 3 times, but I thought of it those 3 times.

Catching up on my chart.

If no one minds I would like to share a "extra credit" and daily challenge each day that I have in current work out plan. So like today's extra credit is at 3 different times today while you are being otherwise sedentary do 2 minutes of jumping jacks and the daily challenge is to stretch while watching tv. I just thought this might help us squeeze in a little something and help us think outside the box.

Well weigh in this weekend revealed i maintained my weight. We ran to Tybee island and checked out their pirate festival. It needs to grow some before I return.

I have been sleeping poorly. I know part of my problem, just not how to resolve it.

My appts have been made with Mayo clinic in Fl. I go the last week in Nov.

Running-healthy snacking is good!

I'm feeling better than yesterday. Yesterday I did a fitness test. Today I did a fitness blender video and 20 minutes on the treadmill. I need to go and clean my room and just like a child I don't want to! Oh and I'm trying to get back to getting in 10 flights of stairs a day.

Yen, I know what you mean about feeling tough for those few moments.

Running, looks good so far.

I had good intentions this morning but some sort of stomach thing is hitting me this morning and it's not fun. I'm hoping by lunch to feel better and be able to do something.

Hi girls! I did ok with my nutriton this week until yesterday. We were at my hubby's family reunion, and I just could not stay away from that table of yummy goodness, even after I was uncomfortably full. I did kick around the soccer ball with my 9 year old and some other various family members to help burn some of it off. I was monkey-in-the-middle for quite some time, because my soccer skills are poor and from laughing too hard at myself and my daughter to be able to run :-) My exercise didn't happen much this week either- just little bits here and there that didn't add up to anything worth tracking. But I didn't gain this week, so I must be doing good enough.
sw- 129.2

Mary- Great job on the meal planning and shopping after you've eaten. You're a wise woman :-)

Paliz- Your post about dealing with naughty boys by a kickboxing workout made me laugh! It is fun, isn't it? I have a couple of 10-min. kickboxing workouts, and I feel like a real tough guy, if only for 10 minutes :-) Congrats on your loss this week too!

Runningoma- It looks like you're doing well from your chart. Keep up the good work!

Have a great week everyone!

Good job! And I don't think it matters if you get on the treadmill. Changing up your exercise also "tricks" your body, which may be why you lost weight. Our bodies get used to things.

Well I'm not sure how I did it but some how I managed to lose just over a pound this week. I'm excited but yet I'm not because I'm afraid it's just the scale playing with my head. emoticon Not much else to report. I might try some of fitness blender's stuff for exercising next week. The treadmill is just not looking appealing right now.

Okay, for the sake of honesty and accountability, the 12 miles on the treadmill isn't happening this week. I just can't force myself on it and am having much more fun with kickboxing.

Paliz - I thought that would be about 10 miles - so great for you with those goals. Boxing burns a lot of calories. When my DH does it on the Wii he works up quite a sweat!

Mary - always good to shop AFTER we eat! And emoticon on resisting the candy!

I'm going to set up a chart so I can see better how I am doing on my goals.

emoticon I'm feeling like a turtle today and I think the spark blog hit the nail on the head. I'm having trouble exercising in the mornings and I'm think because it's dark out. I also had a light bulb moment yesterday that I'm a bit of a exercise junkie in the fact that I keep looking at all different programs, just like I like to look at all different curriculum. Oh and the 5k I was shooting for has now been cancelled and since I don't really prefer running I think I'm losing my motivation to keep getting on the treadmill. At the same time though I know I need the cardio. Oh, I probably should made this a blog post but once I got started typing it just kept coming.

Mary I hope you get ahold of the office. Have fun constructing costumes.

Happy Wed!

I am here and checking in. Hoping my cycle weight disappears by this weekend's weigh in.
Yesterday i made a dinner meal plan and went food shopping after eating dinner, no candy was purchased ;-)

Things are going well in the house it looks as tho we will started costume construction later today after putting the printer thru some exercise. :-)

Later today i need to call my local neuro and find out whats going on with their office.

Have a wonderful day!

Yes, I meant 20000 steps in one day.

Today I should have gotten on the treadmill in order to help make my 12 miles but instead I put in my kickboxing dvd. I had some bad little boys and just needed to get some, well, let's say energy out. It felt good. Now I need to fold a lot of laundry and then get ready for work.

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday. It's been raining here all day.

I'm in, but barely :-) My goal for this month will be the same as last- don't gain. I'll check in on Sundays when I weigh in.

Have a great (rest of the) week, ladies!

Paliz - what do you mean by "reach 20000 in one day"?

My goals for October is to do Strength Training 3 days a week, and run 3 days a week (weather permitting). My goal would also be to lose 5 pounds. I will try to post my weight once a week throughout the month.
For eating, I want to concentrate on eating slowly, and eliminate nighttime snacking and lowering my carbs for the evening meal, eating more protein and veggies.
