Congratulations on signing up for your first 5k! I'm not in your neck of the woods, but I know *most* races let you wear earphones now...and even the ones where I've seen them discourage it, people still wear them anyways. But just to ease your mind, there should be some type of contact information on the race's webpage so perhaps you can email the race directors and ask. That way you aren't thrown for a loop at the last minute and know what to expect. Also, lots of race websites post FAQ's that might include that information as well...and I've always seen where if there ARE restrictions, they are very clear about advertising those to the participants.

At any rate - good luck and enjoy your first race!!!

I'm doing the Erie County Fair 5k this August. If anyone's done this before I would like to know if earbuds are allowed. I only use one ear when I'm on the road and I like the audio cues from my MiCoach letting me know every 1/4 mile..I'm hoping to run most if not all of it. I'm really looking forward to seeing what I'm capable of.
