FB_000,

I attended a nutrition seminar given by Sports RD Nancy Clark and she is not a big proponent of engineered sports nutrition supplements...she said fig newtons, pretzels and raisins are just as good, and cheaper than the engineered foods like Clif Shot blocks, gu, Sports Jelly Beans.

I usually take a chocolate GU right before I start and then about an hour in I eat a 1/2 Honey Stinger Waffle Bar and finish the waffle about another 45 minutes after that.

Suggestions for nutrition during a long run???

Are there any food supplements or Gu type stuff for people with sensitive stomachs? Or alternatives?

I read in Runners World that fig newtons are OK.
