J: Missed recording for yesterday. Have been really busy with my work launching a new information management site for a company and it just draws me in. But I did get time for a lovely walk yesterday. Today has been dark and rainy so I was happy I had 2 indoor fitness sessions booked. Was going to venture out but chose to keep working on the site in the warm indoors.
E: Started the day with a 1 hour hot yoga class and then moved on to a yoga and pilates class combo. Weights have always been a bit of a no go for me so this class is helping me ease into the idea gently
M: Made sure to have a protein shake after the 2 classes this morning. Have been doing reasonably well with my tracking and exercise seems to be balancing out. Did not indulge in Halloween candy this year!!
S: Am at my weight and maintaining and have never felt fitter!!

J - My birthday was yesterday and I am proud to say how good I feel for 61. I am fitter than I think I have ever been in my life and happier now that my work schedule is largely controlled by me. I can walk in the sunshine and work at night if I feel like it. Love this being able to move to my own rhythm. Probably still work more than I need to but at a better pace for me!
E - Did a 45 minute spin class, a 15 minute walk in the parking lot and then an 1 hour long warm yoga class.
M - Still using the food tracker...more after the fact than to plan my meals. So far consumption and exercise seem to be balancing although I do notice more cravings now that I am more relaxed in my food choices. Birthday dinner and lunch out this weekend so will need to pay heed!
S - Did a great workshop with a management team the other day and felt good I could pull it off on short notice.

J - Journaling brings me back to my gratitude. I am thankful for the beautiful day...the beginning of a new project, and my continued good health.
E - Did a 75 minute power yoga class this evening and a 60 minute walk this morning.
M- Starting to track my food again on the tracker just to be sure but have been keeping fairly good track.
S - Am really noticing a shift in my stamina in my exercise. Things that felt hard to hold before are now coming more easily and my flexibility is increasing!!

J - Thanks for the push to keep journaling Maci. Have been on the road with work so much I lost track of Spark but hope to get back in the groove with a little more frequency now.
E - Did 2 long walks today. 1 was my Sunday walk with a friend and we've been missing this for one thing or another so was great to walk and talk for an hour along our beach trail, the other was another hour long brisk walk to enjoy the sunshine. Beautiful day today after over a week of fog so am happy!!
M - Slow cooked a beef curry for supper tonight and did a rough calculation and think it took me over the top of my calorie count but was very good.
S- I have been maintaining my weight and getting in regular exercise even though I haven't been using SPARK. Feels good!

Monday Jems
J-Office all day and then gym after work.
E-High impact step class and then 30 minutes strength training. Wish I could do that every day.
M-Dinner with gym friends. Managed to stay within calorie range.

- mammogram, time with two daughters and and all the grandchildren and wasn't too tired!!!
E - no exercise as such but a bit of extra walking around the hospital and playing wsth grandies
M- tracked my food and over ate, but it helped me to see that that is what has been happening - so great
S - getting back into sparking is certainly the best tool

J - Mothers day - Church relaxed and had family around
E- None it was cold and I just didn't feel up to it.
M - Ate too much with snacking and blowing any meal plans
S - I realized I need to be true to myself and get back to this to win. Spent time with each of my five children either on the phone or in person. Awesome.

J- slept in! was up till almost 4am cleaning for the partys this wkend. Hubs went w/me shopping it was fun. Than had great party for 5 couples, played games, pingpong, pool, and had stks and cakes!

JEMS for Thursday
J-Office day at work, pretty routine
E-Went to the gym after work. Did a Tabata class (sp?) and a Bosu class
M-Stayed w/I calorie range, kind of in the middle
S-Was able to have a scoop of ice cream, satisfy my sweet tooth and still stay within calorie range.

Maci,I don't eat in the middle of the night, but I do have sweet cravings at night. I can pass up sweet stuff all day, but after dinner, I often crave something sweet. It doesn't have to be a lot, one scoop of ice cream, one chocolate, etc. In a pinch, I have been known to eat a handful of chocolate chips! I am trying really hard to plan for that.

Hey Maci,
Glad you had a good day-even if it didn't start out that way. Kudos for trying to stay on track while camping. It is easy to get carried away when you are with friends and away from home.

JEMS for Wed
J-Spent part of the day on the jobsite, then worked from home for a couple hours. Golf league tonight.
E-Walked the golf course
M-Went over by 70 calories. The home made chips at the 19th hole are addictive.
S-Played golf with people I enjoy on a beautiful day. Doesn't get much better.

Great job wisegal! way to go keeping up w/o me jem'sin w/ya! I am gonna do a general post for my camping trip than do it exact tonight for today!

Camptrip Sat-Tues
J- had great time beach camping, experienced all types of weather and made the best of it. Hubs and I had some really cozy times as well as fun w/friends.
E- bike rode, walked the campgrounds everyday, even took alittle beach walk too.
M- did good, w/i cals, might of gone abit over on bday cake day but feel good about my eating while camping.
S- was on track, wrote most my food in a food journal, didn't binge on snack foods. woohoo!

Had a bad binge experience in the middle of the night last night, put away all snack foods , went to to my computer stuff and the computer froze, ended up eating a bunch of the campsnacks, today ended the maddness w/M&M's for bkfst, but will prob be w/i cals today anyways. (counted the binge on yesterdays food choices) Oh well, can't do good all the time. today is a new day filled w/new possibilitys, this was the first midnignt munch in months. I used to do them almost everynight. Oh well, next time I will do better.

J-Office all day and then took my parents to dinner and then grocery shopping. They are getting better about accepting that it is no longer safe for them to drive.
E-No time for the gym again
M-Managed to stay in the low calorie range
S-Managed to get my parents to eat a good dinner with lots of calories. They need it. They had burgers, fries and chocolate malts. I had a burger and a diet coke.

J-Office all day and then dinner with old girlfriends.
E-No time for exercise
M-Ate a good breakfast and then forgot my lunch at home. Could not go out, because took car in for service because tire pressure was low. Was way too hungry at dinner with the girls and found the bread basket at the table before our dinners arrived. Went slightly over in calories.
S-Had dinner with three amazing ladies that have been part of my life since I was 17 years old. I am so lucky to have them as friends.

Here are my JEMS for the weekend

J-Busy, busy weekend. Babysat new 4 week old grandson. Sweet little guy, but didn't get much sleep. Then went directly to other pregnant daughter's house to help unpack boxes with her move.
E- Squeezed in one round of golf and lots of movement burbing baby and helping with move.
M- really blew it. Ate way too much junk!
S-It feels so good to help out my adult children. They really appreciate the help and I really enjoy their company and love being able to hlep them.

Hi Maci,
Here are my JEMS for Friday.

J-Office all day and then had dinner with a friend. So good to catch up with her.
E-unfortunately, none
M-Stayed within calorie range until I came home from dinner and gave in to some ice cream. My sweet tooth won. Went over by 200 calories.
S-Spending time with a good friend and posting!

Off to get in a quick nine holes and then babysit for Jack, my 4 week old grandson. Can't wait to see him again.

Hi wisegirl, glad you joined me:
Thurs jems:
J- tennis league match won! woohoo, home w/family
E- 2 hrs tennis
M- w/i cals (under 1500)
S- dailys done, was tough to not snack but did it! tracked too!

Fridays jems
J- tennis playday w/friends and hubs. Getting ready for Addie (gdaugh) tennis lesson.
E- 2 hrs tennis + taught tennis lesson for 1.5 hrs. fun!
M- w/i cals . dailys done. lots of exercise today!

I think that JEMS are a great idea. I think my biggest problem is consistency and daily JEMS posting willl help with that. Here goes my day yesterday.

Had a good day yesteray. Need more days like that.

J-Work and then went to the gym.
E-Circuit training class and then bosu class at the gym.
M-Stayed on the low end of my calorie range, 1279.
S-Need more days like today. Not giving in to a chocolate or sweet snack after dinner is hard for me, but i did it today. emoticon

Hi ladies last time I used this accountablility method, I lost 28 pds and got to goal wt. It was something I saw another sparkler do and it worked for her too. Today I have my JEMS done as a daily do. Here is the format
J- journal a sentance or two about your day. (describe)
E- tell your exercise!
M- either write your food , cals or how your doing
S- Success's.- count them all! times you did something awesome , times you walked away. etc.

Here is mine for today
J- went to the wild animal park w/2 friends, DD walked to our home for a visit w/our gson, Hubs and I are getting ready to watch our fav tv shows.
E- 4 miles walking today
M- w/i cal limit (1000-1500) just over 1400.
S- vits, water, ex, didn't snack on sweet snacks today at the park. Oh life is good.
