After I hit my all-time high weight of 180, I decided to make another exercise & weight loss effort. I met one of my neighbors (82 years old) and asked if I could walk with her. Well, I couldn't keep up with her. I didn't make it out of sight of my house! Took me days to recover from that.
After my Dr told me I was pre-diabetic, etc. etc. I promised myself I would lose weight.
A lady in one of the Facebook groups I'm in mentioned SparkPeople, and I decided to check it out again.
I joined on Oct 1, 2012, and decided to JUST DO IT. After a few chiropractor visits and a couple weeks of Coach Nicole's seated exercise routines I started making progress. I never worked out to the point of pain. But I did the best I could do. I figured I owed that to myself.
I took advantage of SparkPeople's fitness and nutrition trackers, health & fitness articles, videos, message boards, motivational posts and blogs, etc. I stayed on the nutrition plan and within the calorie range that was given me to reach my goal.
It's been almost 2 months and I have already lost 15 pounds and a whole lot of inches. I feel better than I have in years. I am wearing clothes that I bought only to discover that I couldn't wear them, and they've been hanging in my closet for over 3 years. Well, until yesterday. Woohoo!!
I am not -- and never will be -- a fitness 'nut'. I don't have membership in a health club or any such thing. But I am here to say that the SparkPeople plan works. And I have no doubt that I will achieve my goals because I'm on the winning team!
