Nancy,
I'll be interested to find out if I'm still using the fitbit after four months as well since I do suspect it is just an expensive toy. Stay in touch. I do know that it counts inaccurately. I just took 10 or so steps from the bedroom and it posted 28! I guess it measures each foot movement, which gives us lots of credit. Well, yesterday I did make it over 10,000. Now for the Parkinson's marathon. Have a great Sunday.

Thanks Tiger-I would love to know if any our members are still using the fitbit after 4 months or is it just an expensive toy.

Yes, the fitbit is expensive. I was given mine as a birthday gift and felt it extravagant. I'm hoping it's worthwhile but I suspect it's just an expensive toy.

What I discovered by my first day's use is that my normal walk gave me half of a daily goal. So all in all I got to 8,000 steps for the day. So to get 10,000 will take more than what I am used to putting myself out for. And since I've just gained back 5 pounds since spring, this is not good news.

Today I'll go to my longer walk and see how that fares. I suspect it will be the same as far as total steps for the day, falling under 10,000. But I'll see. Tomorrow I go to a Parkinson's Foundation Walkathon which will be shorter than my neighborhood walk.

I'm looking forward to using my Fitbit when I get home from my travels. It should be in my mai at home. I'm hoping to see another 16,396 steps on it soon.

That's a lot of walking. Good for you! I just got a fitbit gadget and will wear it for the first time today to track my activities. Your 13,000+ steps are quite an inspiration!

I was a little concerned about how much exercise I would get this week while I'm traveling. No "real" workouts, but I knew I could do a lot of walking.

Well, yesterday I did 13,452 steps and today I did 16,396 steps. I'm feelin' good.... And tired! Tomorrow is a driving day, so I'll use it as a rest day.

Have a great day everyone!
