I believe consistency is key and I am just not as consistent as I need to be, I lose weight and will put it back on because I restart old habits.

All things are possible if you only believe, even losing 15 pounds

i am so enthused! when i count my blessings, i am counting each of you twice. how kind to share encouragement when i was getting thisclose to thinking i can't get there.

it's funny how some days i feel 'fat' forgetting that i am in much better shape now than i was even three or four months ago. perspective is almost as tough to achieve as weight loss.

[wanna look good nekkid, too.lol]
hugs, new friends!

My stomach is pretty flat and I don't work out but I eat healthy. I have lost a couple inches around and it has made a difference. I'm having an issue with a sore left ankle and for the life of me I don't recall turning it or anything. It popped yesterday so who knows what my problem is? I have been elevating it most of the time.

Its possible to get back to a flat stomach but as the trainer at the gym stated ot me its 80% diet (nutrition) 20% exercise She told me I could do a 100 crunches a day and never get a flat stomach if I eat a high fat diet.

Good luck on getting that flat stomach emoticon

Yes, it's possible. I did it at age 51. Now I'm 60 and my stomach is still flat and toned. What works for me is a lot of yoga and pilates because they target the stomach. Healthy food and exercise are a normal part of my daily routine. Exercise makes me feel energized so it's never a chore.

Rusty,
I'm with Timothy on this one. We don't get our old bodies back but we can certainly look better than we do now. Go for your best and love whatever that is. What more can we do than that?

You will like never have that twenty year old (or thirty or even forty) year old bikini body back ... though anything is possible. While I have abs, the beach body is a pipe dream I am afraid.

And, I do look around in the locker room and She(WMBO) has independently confirmed it for me ... I look pretty good nekkid.

And isn't that what we all really want? To look good nekkid, at least to our peers with whom we wish to share?

Yup - 15 more pounds will take care of it. I lost weight 10 years ago at age 42 and had an awesome stomach - for about one day, then I promptly went to Pizza Hut and ate about 8 slices of pizza at the lunch buffet.

Oh well, here we go again. I've lost 15 pounds and have 15 to go - I should change my ticker to a goal of 120, but I'm trying to achieve smaller goals first. Stomach is way better but still blobby - but that's normal for 15 pounds of overweight. We will have fantastic stomachs when we reach our goal - but keep exercising, even more important this time, for us over age 50. Oh joy! emoticon

I cannot speak for women, but my Santa tummy went away and was replaced by abs. And She(WMBO) is noticing some "ablets" beging to peek through, so it is possible.

Wow! I am so impressed with your weight loss! I know what you mean about the belly. I have seen people get results with Pilates. But I am not sure if a really ever gets flat like it used to be....but you must be so excited about your new body, super flat tummy or not!

If not now, when?

is it really possible over 50 to get rid of the belly? i have another 15 lbs to go to get to 130, but it seems that i lose it everywhere but on my stomach. my @ss has all but disappeared. lol i want to get rid of this bit of an overhang, not expecting to get a six pack. i swim, walk and rebound, and do some stretching with a ball.

oh, i was 212 but never had kids. might as well have tho, for this tummy.
