72.5 kg = 159.5 lbs start
71.5 kg = 157.3 lbs
so only lost 1 kg = 2.2 lbs

Thanks SO much! It's good to be validated and belong to a team that from my observations, seems to be an active, caring, determined, AND motivational team at that.

I'm going to remember my weight [a weight that is blazoned on my forehead] and try, with everything I have going on around me, to record my food. That's what I have trouble with -- taking the time to record when I've been on the computer all day.

It's probably WAY too late to start this challenge. I need some encouragement, some motivational tips ... just someone to be accountable to. It seems like all friends are either heavy and dealing with their OWN issues ab. weight and fitness and look at me like i'm from outer space whenever I mention wanting to lose, wanting to shape up OR they're skinny, never been dieting and I get blank looks. I'm having trouble getting out of bed in the morning and trouble going to sleep!

I read what y'all have written and it sounds terrific and y'all seem so close to one another that I feel like I'm the outlier peering in. I *can't * bring myself to exercise, quit smoking [I smoke 3-5 cigarettes per day], and walking or doing any other exercise --- like walking my dog! I weight mysel every day and that gets me down, plus looking in the mirror, and keeping a record of what I eat, AND mostly, I can't fit in ANY of my clothes. I've started a new business and ....

Wait. TMI and I have lots to tell and realize I'm just rambling on when I'm not even sure what group I belong in and maybe, it's too late to join ANY group. What I'm asking, I guess, is that someone please tell me what group I should be in. I'm not depressed, btw, just completely UNMOTIVATED because of outside things that are making me so busy. Thanks for letting me go on!

I ended up at 140 - 3 pounds down. This was much more difficult than I thought it would be. Thank you for the challenge, Maci, and for keeping up with all the stats. Though I didn't meet the challenge, I was blessed to connect with a local Sparker who has become my accountability partner. She has just issued a challenge to lose 5 lbs in the next 5 mos. Since at first, I did not succeed, I shall try, try again!

cupcakz fantastic, so many of you gals have done great, well I of course did not make my goal, in fact, when I weighed in this morning I weighed .6 tenths of a pound more than last week, but I think I did lose 1 pound total.

Very happy with this challenge! It was super motivating and definitely helped keep me on track. Great to hear everyone's positive spirit. Any loss sure beats gaining!

Today : 119. Woo hoo!

I'm hoping to lose another pound before Christmas and then maintain over the holiday. Would also love to join a challenge in January and keep maintaining. Really need to keep exercising this time. I usually quit all my good habits when I lose weight. emoticon

W/I Day! How did it sneak up so fast. Here are my stats:
SW: 181.2
CW: 175

I lost 6.2 lbs on this challenge. I didn't keep track of the inches but I know I am less around than I was when I started in July. I am very happy with this result. I was hopeful of making the 12 lbs but am not too upset I fell short.

Congratulations to everyone that Met the Challenge!! emoticon emoticon

On SP I have learned that 'slow and steady' wins the race. And really it isn't a race. It's a lifestyle choice to live healthier and happier.

Thanks Maci and the rest of the team for all the support and fun I had on this Challenge. My immediate goal is to maintain over the Holidays and then jump aboard a new Challenge in January. Good luck everyone going forward!! And Happy Holidays and a Blessed Christmas season to al!

I lost 12 pounds by 12/12/12! (From 148-136)

I would have lost about 16 pounds, but it was rough the last few weeks, as I have relaxed too much and eaten too many snacks at night and negated the extra four pounds!

I hope to lose these last four extra pounds I want by Xmas, if I can keep up the portion control, especially in front of the TV!

Well. I didn't come close to goal but I didn't try very hard. What I did do was lose a pound and an inch around so I am happy with that.

I will continue to make healthy choices so I look good in my clothes and feel comfortable.

I lost 3 lbs. as of this morning and I am very happy with that! -- now to maintain it through the holidays. To help with that I signed up for the Mardi Gras Maintainer challenge on the 'At Goal and Maintaining & Transition to Maintainance Team'.

I am another one who didn't make the goal, but the challenge was still very important and helpful. It kept me connected to a good community. My weight last Friday was 140.8, which is just under a 5 pound loss. I am thinking of this as an overall weight loss and maintenance of 15 pounds in 10 months. So thanks to 50+ for helping with this.

This turtle is to remind myself that slow but steady wins the race.

Morning - I weighed in this morning at 145.8 lbs - that is a total lost of 8.2 lbs. I didn't quite make the goal but this challenge helped me to stay focused. Congratulations to all of you who did make 12 lbs. emoticon

I did try, just not hard enough think, but April I want to go to Iowa for a anniversary/birthday celebration, and I am going to use that for a goal,
but I have done better than usual so far with the holidays

I'm not going to make it either but did lose an inch or two and am eating more fresh fruits and veggies everyday. Tomorrow is another day so just take one day at a time and make healthy choices!

a crazy hectic day, but so far staying in good foods, not getting too many actual steps in, but did walk, so that will help, and planning on my treadmill for at least 20 minutes, Hopefully

another busy day but I did make a nice sausage, cabbage carrot and potato soup, healthy and not too fattening, but that glass of sparl wine off set it all, but still did ok on calories, not quite 10,000 steps, but I may make it, but not to worry if I dont

I have been so busy today, wrapping, cleaning, decorating, and so when my DH came home, I said how about a pastrami" and of course he said great, and you know what, It was, so tomorrow, back on the straight and narrow, but happy I feel all warm and comfy emoticon

I love this advice too! Today my class had skating and instead of just standing and talking with the other teacher, I kept moving - I skated laps and played follow the leader with the kids. My heart was seldom working very hard - so not what we call a cardio workout, but I decided to mark it down as 30 minutes of exercise. It feels like an accomplishment, doesn't it, when we can celebrate movement! And hey, skating was way easier this year with 30 less pounds!`

I agree Maci, I am trying to keep up and find that I have more time to do my strength training at home this month and less time to make it to the Y. The extra shopping and traveling seem to take more extra time than I realized. More meals out (while shopping) are not helping. Scale is still the same.

Feels good to have someone notice all our hard work! This christmas season (Dec), I have changed my exercise goal to moving, instead of specific exercise, It seems the days I play tennis I get in scheduled exercise, the days I don't I have been on the go! Shopping, cleaning, organizing, running errands, I am counting them as moving days and giving myself a star for keeping on the go exercise wise. Today a day w/o exercise is a day that I am lazy, and on the couch, and I am not having any of those this month. Be easy on yourselfs ladies , we have alot to get done this month, count your days with a big star, if you are keeping up and taking care of your homes, familys, and all the things that come w/being the strong busy women you are.

I got a compliment from the substitute visiting nurse today. She hadn't seen me for a few weeks and she told me I am much thinner! I told her 'thank you' and that I have been working on it and have lost about an inch by eating really healthy. So that made me feel good that she noticed.

Yes, it's been a very busy week. We had our school Christmas concert tonight. My class did a really cute candy cane dance. Now I can relax! School banquet tomorrow night. Hopefully, some exercise this weekend. I agree Merry, it is so good to be part of a challenge that keeps us focussed!

Thanks Marsha! Gotta keep at it, though! I'm getting sleepy and lazy. Time to get off the couch and jump about the living room, I guess. My Spark videos haven't been streaming properly this week. Frustrating.

We have a Christmas banquet at school this Friday. I have a nice sparkly top that looks great. When I've worn it before, I've had to expend a lot of effort to suck everything in! I will be nice and relaxed this time!

you are doing fantastic cupcakz, wow 30 pounds, so you deserve a couple cookies, just gotta stop at a couple,
me, my cookies were so (are) good, but 1 yesterday and 1 today, I mainly like making them, eating is secondary, I like BREAD, my biggest downfall, all kinds.

These darn colds! Cadboro, I have one too and I feel miserable.

I made my goal of 120 today - not sure how, being I just hit 121 yesterday. 30 pounds off in 7 and a half months. emoticon

So, to celebrate I promptly ate 3 Christmas cookies. emoticon Merry, fresh baked cookies are SO hard to resist!

Oh well, I tracked them and ate less. I've reset my goal a little lower. Will see how things go.

Let's keep exercising this week - balance off those cookies and other treats!

I got up first thing I jumped on the scales, and there it was 126.0 so I stayed the same, luck weigh in day because I do fluctuate 1 pound up but not today, so let us see what the next 12 days bring, I know it wont be much but sure would be nice to change my scale down. and I can do it, now the question is will I do it emoticon

I am excited to be posting my weight loss - I have lost 1.4 lb when I weighed in yesterday for a total weight lost of 7.8 lb since I started. I don't think I will make the 12 lbs by Dec 12 but this challenge has certainly helped me to get closer. So thanks so much for this challenge emoticon

Good night ladies, just can't stay awake one more minute, read all the posts, Mary, thanks for the Sat reminder, I just almost talked my way into eating another late night meal. Hubs will be pulling in from Oregon in the next hr, and I fixed spaghetti for the bunch. Ifr I want to be under 160 in nov I best not partake.

*Cupcake- I work my touche off everyday for hrs on the courts, I should be a size 2 too! I guess you have to put down the FF to achieve that! (getting better everyday)

Well, two days until Saturday. That has kept me going this week - if I want to see a change come Saturday, it is up to me to make it happen!

Merry, you do so much exercise, you are probably in the best shape of all of us! You rock!

I'm a bit discouraged by this "meno-pot". I'd heard of it, but didn't really believe it. My stomach shouldn't be sticking out anymore, but it is! Advice anyone? Or just get used to it? Hoping that a few more pounds will help.

You are right, you do have to eat enough calories. Our bodies are so very strange and demanding.

I remember years ago, doing fasting, and shakes, etc. That really is the very easiest way to lose weight, and it is a big rush because you loose so much so fast. But it is a very unhealthy way, and an artificial way, and totally unsupportable.

Been there, done that, begun all over again.

a nice cool day here, no rain, but air was damp so maybe tomorrow, got up with the blah's so did almost nothing, but did get out and walked 50 minutes, almost got my 10,000 steps so perhaps, I can do that, doing nothing, I also ate almost nothing, so sure did not go over, in fact have to find, something to pick up my calories a bit.

Just maintaining here. Getting ready for a mini vacation to have Christmas with a friend in Tennessee. We share December birthdays and will both be watching calories closely since she became diabetic this year. emoticon

Sounds like we are all doing some of the nesting stuff with the cold weather.

I have been purging paperwork working on bills, crocheting, and even some cooking.

Will have leftovers for the next few days.

We are all doing the best we can, so take it one day at a time, and enjoy that day.

I went to the gym this morning, aerobics class, enjoy it a bunch, but wears me out, I walked awhile on the treadmill but need a nice long walk this afternoon, maintaining my calories, if not my weight. I am maintaining, it just doesn't come off.

Good day here too, girls. Puttered around the kitchen cleaning cupboards and the pantry. Then I baked 2 batches of gingersnaps. Will take one batch to school tomorrow for coffee time. Sampled too many cookies and had to cut way back on supper, but my calories will be okay for the day.

Beautiful weather for walking - bundled up, but at least there was no wind. Did weights, and I've started adding Yoga stretches. Holding a Plank for 1 minute is the challenge - can do it, but it's definitely tough!

Sounds as though you all had a good holiday, for those of us who celebrate it, so good to know.

As far as the challenge, I am pretty sure I won't make the 12 pounds, but I have lost some, have put a couple back on, but feel as though I can get rid of that now. I am glad I did it, because I am still down from my starting weight.

Going to work on getting off the couple of pounds I have found momentarily, but am sure I will be better off because of this challenge all the way through the season.

I have been giving this 12/12/12 some deep thought, and I think maybe we should do something that I can attain emoticon not sure what, but at least I am not gaining, and that is a big plus, and I have not given up, well actually on the 12 pounds I have but would like to see a loss, and just maybe I will

I'm working on getting rid of my muffin tops and they are shrinking. Gave up frozen yogurt and have switched to plain Greek Yogurt with fresh or frozen fruit and it is just as good and much healthier. My muffin tops are shrinking. Really bothering to see the muffin tops under my tee shirts and am happy to not see them now. My jeans are fitting nicely.

I seem to have settled into being 142 for the time being so will stick with that for now.

I did way better yesterday than Thanksgiving. Not as many steps
but helping DH make his filled raisin cookies was more strength
than cardio.
