J - Allergies are killing me today! Itchy eyes, sinuses - YUK!
E - went to go for a walk this am, got to end of block and felt like I had just taken a shower. Back home. Try again when the heat and humidity go down.
M - Doing well - Jimmy Dean Delight Breakfast bowls are pretty good! Keeping hydrated
S - Grocery shopping tonight to get some more healthy foods. Got my daughter on board!

Just joined and thought "I can do this"!

J -Feeling motivated, but it's way to hot to do much. Looking forward to seeing my new granddaughter tonight!
E - up and down 3 flights of stairs, twice. Enough. Way to hot to do more.
M - Turkey breast on whole wheat tortilla, cucumber and light cream cheese. Yummy!
S - eating a healthier lunch and planning healthy meals with my daughter. Seeing her start college is wonderful!

It's hard to come up with a JEMS each day. I might do this a couple of times a week to start with.

J - I'm a bit off right now cause I'm on vacation
E - Walked at least 2 hours yesterday. Maybe more
M - Went over calorie range. Will try to do better today
S - We (Mom & I) walked over a mile to the grocery store, got all our food and walked back to our timeshare. Later we walked about 3/4 of a mile to the restaurant, ate a wonderful meal and walked back. All the walking was a workout for me but fun.

Hi Ladies,
I am hoping that positng jems will keep me on track. Here are my JEMS for yesterday.

J-Office all day. Planned dinner and shopped for my parents during lunch hour. Took dinner to my parents after work.

E-No time.

M-Stayed on the low end of calorie range, so that is a good thing.

S-When I got to my parents, they had already eaten and just wanated dessert. I made them ice cream sundaes and sat and visited while they ate. I resisted the temptation to have ice cream for dinner and went home and had a nice piece of cod.

OK
J- I am Victoria on my vacation. I tried to plan but traveling all day made it very difficult. I stayed on track as much as possible
E-I managed to do a half hour of walking today. I will do better tomorrow.
M-since I was traveling all day today I had Ito eat my protein bars and as healthy snacks as possible
S-my Mother and I traveled to Victoria today and we managed to get around with our walkers and dragging luggage behind us. I think we did pretty well. I was a trial but we both succeeded. I am really happy about our accomplishments.

ck out the first post, it explains it all, but here is a quick overview:
J= journal
E= exercise
M= meals
S= success's!

Here is my jems today
J- tennis in the morning, off to an alanon mtg, home to be w/Addie (gdaugh) and clean up.
E- 2 hrs tennis today
M- within cals. (1000-1500) (when i don't use the tracker I actually write what I ate)
S- did great today, did all dailys and accomplished goals. Oh life is good.

I have really slacked off from my jems but have been on track and tracking everyday. Jems for the last wk

J- tennis in the mornings, lunch w/friends, home to enjoy the afternoons w/and w/o gkids.
E- tennis most days, have done exercise everyday.
M- stayed w/i cal limit. under 1500.
S- doing great, losing on the scale, feeling good.

last time I posted was my bday. I havent' been jemsin in along time, it's now April 4, my bday was 3/20. It is time for me to grab the reins, tonight the only thing I can do is to not eat after 8pm,except fruit that's one of my promises that I was using to lose the wt. since I quit working it I have puffed up like a puffer fish, it doesn't feel to good. so here goes I will jems today!
J- felt really sick this morn, recovering from a major cold. (couch bound the last 2 days) , mom came to visit, than went to a team party, fun. home to catch up on my sparking and some housework.
E- not much except cleaning the house.
M- B- cup of ice cream L- potluck a plate of diff foods. D- havent ate since potluck lunch will have a cute before bed.
S- only 1 cup of ice cream, sticking to my after 8 commitment, caught up on my sparks today, did some housework, vits.

HI girls I'm back! Missed ya!
Tues:
J- tennis, alanon mtg, ran errands w/hubs, watched Argo and caught up w/sparks this am. nice day.
E- 2 hrs tennis
M- B: bananna S: pretzels, cantalope melon L: bowl of salad S:bowl of kettle corn / popcorn,and about 4 sm cookies. D:few bites of stk
S- vits, ex, jems, sparks, and no eating after 8pm. Dailys done!

*3am ate a bowl of pasta salad, and 8 small cookies, will walk these cookies to the neighbor like I had committed to do when i brought them home. Opps, lesson learned. It's our secrets, and sneak eating that keep us chubby! I rationalized that it was already my bday. Today is my bday and it has always been a free eat day for me! I am still going to enjoy it, but I am going to post it to keep it out in the open! Nice to be back!

Em, I don't get very hungry at 1200ish. (but I don't keep truly to 1200 very often) Maybe I am miss-calculating a bit and it may be closer to 1400 (creamer in the coffee, an extra cheese stick, etc) I am much more of a morning and afternoon eater/snacker. By dinner I only have about 300 calories left and I really don't feel like eating much. No I don't fill up on veggies that much. Protein, nuts, cottage cheese and veggies (very few salads) I buy the stuff...but it usually goes bad. I am always cold and a salad just doesn't sound good on cold winter days.

J: Spent the day with a friend, shopped for scrapbooking stuff.
E: Took the hubby and the dog for a walk.
M: Ate very healthy, no junk at all today.
S: Managed to work out 6 days in a row.

Pam, I have so much trouble getting my calories below 1600 without getting very grumpy and feeling too deprived. Do you have trouble with 1200? fill up on veggies? I am seeing no movement at 1600-1750 though, so I think I'm really going to try to drop down to 1400-1500 and see if that helps.

M: Was super hungry midday, consumed most of my calories between 10 - 1 today so tried to keep dinner very light, around 1600 total

E: 20 minute circuit in the morning, 45 min on treadmill this evening.

J: meetings, cleaning, the usual - snuck in an hour with a good book though
E: 2.5 mi walk
M: 1650, found my way into the chocolate again, grrrrr
S: hard to find a success in the exercise/eating department, guess at least I went on the walk

Updating my weight with my end of the month number, what a disaster. In the first 2.5 weeks of February I undid all the work I had done since recommitting to SP at the beginning of December. I know that some of it is hormonal but still. Oh well, as we've said all week, there's only thing one thing to do, keep on keeping on.

So sorry. :( I know exactly what you mean about being frozen but once you figure out how it could have gone differently, you have a game plan for the next time something similar happens. We can't expect to get every situation right the first time, especially when emotions are high. If I was you'all I think I might say that it was time for a birthday 'do over'. And really do it up right on another day - cake, candles, singing, make it silly and fun and joyful.

J: Nice day here, it snowed all day and for the first time in ages we had nowhere we had to be. Made soup, played in the snow, read, ahh!

Hi ladies, have been insanely busy the last few days, gkids, trips to the snow, etc. Just woke up from along nap, trying to catch up w/my life, this is the first time I have touched the computer in 3 days.
J- church w/Jim and Addie, had our friends join us there, than went to lunch w/them, off to put on a bday lunch for my DD kacie, she is 32 today. It was a tough day, drama at it's best. things are smoother now. (divorce drama)
E- none today but had a good moving day this wk.
M- B-donut L-1/2 patty melt and some FF/Orings, S-pasta salad, a sm plate and a few cupcakes today. D- a bowl of pasta salad. done for the day.
S- vits, sparking, jems, took a good long nap and did journaling about the fam drama today. Life is to good to miss out on things, tonight I gave up the Oscars party to rest. Next yr I'm gonna celebrate.

Hi girls, great to see you! Yes I love hugging on baby john. He is so cute. I feel lucky when he is around although I can do nothing but stare at him. teehee.
J- layed around this morn w/hubs, watched end of HBO series, fun, DD and baby john came by for about an hr than Hubs and I grabbed our racquets and played some singles for over an hr. came home afterwards and napped on the couch, gkids B&B came over at 5pm , watched a couple movies w/them all snuggled up on the sofa bed. lazy afternoon.
E- alittle over an hr singles tennis
M- B- 2 scr eggs , 3 pcs sausage, 1 pc raisin tst S- 2 mini tubes of ritz crackers, 1 pc taffy, 5 mini bags of Vday gummys. (about 25.) D- chicken nuggets 10 + 1 pc pizza S: small bowl popcorn.
S- did dailys, and no eating after 8pm the last couple days. stood on scale. ugggg. 165. HOpe its temp candy wt. Tonight fighting the urge to not eat Vday candy given to Brianna for Vday.

I'm back as well. Really over did it over Valentine's day and the weekend. I kept putting off posting knowing it meant I would have to be accountable. But instead of letting myself go for another week or more, I am ready to refocus.

Yes CC you are doing great today! and yesterday. No worries about the challenge, just ck in and believe me you will not be the only one who has a -0! behind your name. If things go the way they have been, I will be there w/you! Let's be one of the losers together. Even if it's only a -.1! (did you notice the point before the 1?) teehee. Today doing good so far! On my way to a massage at 12:30! Cya later w/my jems report! I am gonna track right now! havent' done it in awhile, actually since I stopped losing.... hummmmm any coorilation???

J- fun morning, off to a school show to watch my gdaughters. than lunch w/mom and Mandi my 2nd DD. massage at noon. than tennis lessons w/Addie and Leah. Napped when got home, home by hubs now.
E- walked during tennis lesson w/mom. 30 min.
M-B/L- taco and quesidilla (not much chz in it), S/ handfuls of tortilla chips, look candybar D/ 1 c spaghetti and some chicken breast, + 1 cherry tart. done!
S- dailys done. feeling tired tonight! That massage did me in!

Maci, one of the things I was thinking yesterday is your post about gains being too hard to keep track of for the 13 in 13 (and I agree!) but I thought a couple of times, I *can't* have a gain this month, I have to get back to 141 or there'll be no way to record it in the contest. emoticon

E: managed to get a good run in yesterday, about 6 mi total, longest in awhile
M: I think around 1800
S: Given all the treats that were around every place I went yesterday (including our house), 1800 is pretty good!

Ugh. I've really fallen off the wagon. I have had hormonal issues and they've been kicking my butt. Plus, my 11-year-old had an accident and is on crutches. :( The doctor won't be able to tell for another week whether she has a fracture or not. Add in valentine's day baking for school etc and it has not been pretty. I've gained back all the weight I've lost since starting SP, I'm hoping that a good chunk of that is hormone-related water retention though. All I know how to do is get back to tracking, going to recommit again.

Wed:
J: helping out at school, baked 4 dozen cookies, shopping etc.
E: managed to fit in a 2.5 mile walk
M: ugh. didn't track, didn't eat mindfully
S: hmm, went to bed without an extra snack and made time for at least the little walk

Hi CC- I have done a terrible job doing my dailys this wkend. esp my sparking and jems.
Life has been so busy, what I do know is that when i don't do my dailys I tend to forget and eat unconsiously. Time to be ckd in again.
J- Won my tennis match, fun but tough, was treated to lunch at my fav restaurant today. fun. took a big nap, had a great movie night w/hubs now catching up on my sparking.
E- 2 hrs tennis match
M- to many cals. Had a batch of mini cupcakes and cookies around, snacked on them, to many. Plus had chips and FF at lunch. Will track again starting tomm, it's been awhile. I will make a post it note! don't give up on me!
S- ate some fruit! good exercise. sparked, and jemed.

Yesterday's food intake did not go well. I blew it on, of all things, trail mix. So much trail mix. And it wasn't even that good. I knew I wasn't going to be home during dinner with the family, so I told myself I'd eat late and had several handfuls of trail mix before heading out. Didn't get home until 8:30pm and was starved. Instead of heating up leftovers, I just ate more trail mix, handful after handful everytime I passed through the kitchen. When I tried to estimate up afterward how much I had eaten and how many calories it had been it was shocking. Oh well. Nothing to to about it now, but lesson learned - first, trail mix is off limits for awhile, and second, plan better for busy nights.

J: nothing exciting
E: did manage to get in a 3 mile run with some fast stuff thrown in
M: think it was about 2300+ calories, maybe more
S: at least I did try to track it afterward, it was useful for me to see and had more of an effect than if I had not tried to track it

Oh Maci, so sorry about your bee sting! Scary. NIce job on putting back the candy.
My motivation has been slacking lately. I did so well for most of December and the first part of January. The key for me is tracking!! I know if I track consistently, then I become more mindful of all the handfuls here and just-a-bits there and the weight comes off. So I'm making a commitment to myself, back to it today. I'm tracking the whole day and posting my calories tomorrow. My goal is to recommit to this every day.

J: the usual, lots of activities for the kids, various meetings
E: short run at the Y
M: I can't even remember!
S: I only had a half hour to change & run and almost blew it off because it was so short, but I at least got in a couple of miles.

Hi ladies, My Daughter is named Emily. Love that name. when i first signed up I had no idea what a user name was so I just put in my first and middle name thinking it was a secret code. My user name would of been TennisGma if I actually choose one. Oh well somethings are important, and this isn't one of them.
J- at home recovering from my beesting. (I am allergic and got stung in the neck yesterday) medical drama, but it all worked out ok! feel tired, fat and lazy today, I know not nice but true!
E- on the couch all day, 2 days in a row.
M- Had a pity party and found the old halloween candy, need I say more? but decided to shove it back in the drawer and get up , spark and change direction, next plan a big salad for dinner! after dinner I polished off the last box of gs cookies.
S- Changing direction! sparked, jems, salad and planning on a much healthier tomm!

Em, your comment is so true...so many times I over indulge because I am with friends, or at a potluck or party. It really takes knowing ahead of time...I am not going to pig out and blow it just because I am with friends or family.

J: Got lots accomplished today. Still working on my craft room makeover.
E: Should have gotten up this morning and exercised...but didn't.
M: Tracked most of the day. I think I ended up between 1200-1400

J: Fun but busy weekend. Family in town and lots going on.
E: 2 hr hike on Sat, leisurely day of snowboarding yesterday
M: did not track and the scale reflected that this morning. Of course enjoying life with family and friends is important, but I tend to use that as an excuse to not monitor what I'm eating.

J: have been abit awol cuz had friends over from out of state and have been on the go! today after we took them to the airport at 6am I slept all day! feels good to spark again
E- not any today, but played tennis everyday this wk plus did lots of walking w/friends.
M- my meals are wack right now, B- mini donut and 3 pnut butter cookies on the way to the airport. - 7 eleven. L- caramel corn ( 5 coffee cups full) S- plate chips w/melted chz, D- 4 tortillas and cup of ice crm.S- tangerine (I couldn't have had a worse nutrition day if I had tried to!) to many cals!
S- Hey at least I had a tangerine. Tomm is a new day, my goal is going to be to keep my fingers out of the munchie bowls during the superbowl.

I am rooting for you to get out of the 140's! Avoiding junk food is good. There always seems to be treats at work and I remember a phrase I just heard..."free food makes you fat!" Parties, office treats, candy bowls. Once you start it is hard to stop.

Weds, uggg time to confess...
The girlscout cookies got me. Luckily it was only 2 boxes so far since Sat. believe it or not that is much better than I usually do. I usually eat a box a day during cookie time, I have 40 boxes in my home that I need to get sold.
J- Hubs and I picked up friends from the cruise turminal today had great day w/them, driving around, lunch, walk on pier, playing games, etc.
E- walked the pier 3 mi walk.
M- B: bkfst jack (egg, ham, bun) sm FF, L: 4 macadamia nut chocolates, 2 taquitos, and 1/4 nachos (stk, chz, chips) D: big salad, tortilla chips 1 serv , 1/2 cherry tart.
S- doing dailys now.
Tired, need to get vitamins, have league match in the morning. good night!

J: Uuug...stomach flu over the weekend. Not a good way to loose 5 pounds.
E: I did feel good enough this morning to finally walk on the treadmill.
M: Ate well yesterday, taking it easy since I still don't feel 100%
S: Gained some weight back (I'm sure mostly water weight from being sick)

Looking forward to my Friday weigh in and feeling better.

J- took Teddybear (yorkie) to groomer, than picked up scout cookies visited w/DD and gson for a while than home all day doing computer pics. (first time putting them in files) poor hubs he was teaching me. It was so frustrating and so fun at times too. home tonight.
E- didn't move except errands, did "think" alot about moving, outside wet and rainy
M- B- 1/2 english muffin L- box of gs cookies (hubs had a few) some pretzels. S- 2 chocolates D- chicken friend stk (1.5 pcs) 1c mashed pot w/country gravy.
S- did dailys, will commit to taking at least a walk tomm, even if it's only around the block!

Pj- love your new plan! That is how I got down to goal wt last time. Doing just what you said. love that you are doing it together. I am going to adopt that plan again too. I have been doing my dailys, but my cal limit has been abit out of wack, I think I my goal this wkend is to get back on track w/that, thanks for reminding me.

CC- yes, I don't feel bad either, my buffets were a blast too, but oh do i want to keep on track for the challenge. I can prob pull off a water wt loss too if i buckle down, to bad I just had a big bowl of popcorn. I know: Double the salt, double the water!
J- tennis match rained out today, went to bkfst w/hubs than visited w/mom. went to tennis club board mtg. than shopping for my Vday party. Came home and watched the OMEN new release w/my gdaugh and niece. fun but scary. Slept, now up to spark!
E- none, plan to do 100 crunches tonight w/tv!
M- B- 2 corn tortilla w/carne asada, 1 scr egg, 1 bite potato S- mini pack of nutty delights (WW snack pack) , L/D- big chic salad (3 c) and 3 sm gbars. S- bag of WW microwave popcorn. S- 12 ritz crackers. Will track foods tonight, first time in along time. wish me luck!
S- vits, sparked, jem'd, and tracking tonight.

Pam, sounds great with the 30 min a day. There are times when I have the motivation and time to much more dedicated to my sports, but I always try to keep that 30 min baseline going no matter what else is happening in life. Keeps me sane!

Maci, I'm right there with you. Luckily, I started your 13 in '13 with the bonus weeks in December because I undid all of January's work with this week. Being out of town and eating restaurant food over the long weekend, and then have only tracked one day since we've been back. I actually don't regret the long weekend gain, we had a blast, but the chocolate and not tracking since we've been back is not what I want to be doing right now. But, I'm thinking that some of the weight is water and that if I buckle down for the next 6 days I can still have more than a one pound loss for January. Back to it!

J: Helped out in my DD's biology class yesterday, spent the day dissecting bull frogs. The kids did great and I learned a lot too. But I was exhausted by the end of the day. Teaching is hard work!
E: 30 min walk
M: not good, didn't track, opened a pack of cookies and finished off some chocolate that had been sitting around
S: Had so much fun being at school and felt like I really helped out.

Macy, Hubby and I have decided to just keep it simple after many years of complicated plans that we just can't realistically keep. Our new life plan is: 30 minutes of exercise EVERY DAY. We have tried Insanity and recently P90X. The videos are an hour + and we just decided it was not realistic to miss out on an 1 1/2 hours of sleep in the morning. (especially when hot flashes have kept waking me up during the night) The videos had too much yoga and it just was so hard to try and get up that early every day. So we have decided this was something we could commit as our new lifestyle change. 30 minutes EVERY DAY of exercise. A video, treadmill, running, weights, biking, whatever we decide to do the night before. We have a plan and will try to change it up so as not to get board. As far as food, healthier, whole grain, minimal process. Again, our schedules are too crazy to try to stick to a strict diet plan. I am going to stick to 1,200 calories a day which I can track on my phone. So far it is going great!

Hi ladies! *PJ waht is your new eating and exercise plan? Sounds like you both are doing good. Yesterday I stepped on the scale again, and poof all that hard work done at the beginning of the month went away! I am right back up where I started after my big vegas buffet event. No worries I will work it out, hopefully by the 1st! It felt good to be out of the 160's even if it was just a wk. (hope)
Weds:
J- tennis in the morning, shopping and lunch w/tennis friend, put on daisy scout meeting at our home, had all gkids spend the night, parents had date night. really fun. Hubs and I cuddled up on the big new couch w/them all. Priceless.
E- 2.5 hrs tennis
M- B-Gbar L- in and out burger (tomm only) S- popcorn at Target, reeses pnut butter cup (couldn't resist) + gbar (hungry this afternoon) D- chicken nuggets (6?)and a pc of a indiv size mini pizza. S- cupcake
S- doing dailys, moved alot today. Lived life w/gusto.

J: Created a new eating and exercise plan with the hubby.
E: Worked out 1/2 hour cross-training video, 1/2 walking on treadmill (while watching the Biggest Loser on DVR!)
M:1200 calories today!
S: Managed to eat right and exercise 2 days in a row!

monday
J- league match, lost today, oh well, can't win em all! spent day w/gbabies, and hubs. DD came over and did laundry (nice to see her) hubs was rude to her, was so mad at him. fixed it. went to dinner at other DD;s home, brought Addie home to spend the night w/us. fun.
E- 1.5 hrs tennis
M- B- forgot to eat. L- at courts- lots of tortilla chips, 2 cookies, 1/2 banana, a few pnt butter pretzels.1 pc danish. D- salad, hamburger, 1 sm handful fries, S- 1/2 look bar, and 10 mini rolos. Ate to many sweets today, and forgot B! opps.
S- did dailys!

Would love to say I kept my journal, I started it but then we found the buffet special. "6 buffets for only $74 for 24 hrs" that was my undoing. They were all fabulous and amazing. we ended up going to 4. than out to Gilleys on the strip, I couldn't keep track, let's face it, I just plain forgot after my first day we drove there. Oh well, sometimes life just gets in the way,luckily it was happy times.
Sunday on the way home in car: jems: (still in vaca mode)
J: drove home from Vegas, listened to games all the way home, napped on and off. watched movie at home w/hubs.
E: none
M:
B: hot dog, and small bag of chips
L: a nestle toll house ice cream sandwich
D: a big bowl of salad (oriental chicken style) -home!
S: a big hunk candy bar.
S: choose salad for dinner. doing my jems, getting ready for league match in a few hrs.

Jems while in vegas:
J: Went to many casinos, saw all the free casino shows and went to a Vega Circa Solei show too, Pawn stars shop, and downtown, played blackjack and slots fun, and fast wkend.
E: lots of walking
M: way to many cals, lost track. many buffets and special meals.
S: Back to sparking immed. ready to do some fix it for the buffet damage done.

Hi ladies, Birthdays are everywhere and so is the bday cake! You can have a pc w/o eating the whole thing, I have faith in you.
J- league match this morning, Played #1 and won. My partner was amazing today. woohoo. Addie(10) and I made salad and watched her fav show after school. Than took a good long nap, hubs just walked in, ready to do some hubs time.
E- 2 hrs league match
M- B: gbar L: snacked on snack table, a few sm pcs fudge, a huge cracker, and 3 pcs chz and turkey. L/D: a huge bowl of salad. 1 pc choc cake w/whip crm
S- feel good about everything today. dailys done.

J: survived the birthday party! It was a big success, my dd and her friends all seemed to have a fantastic time, we went ice skating, but I was exhausted! Not quite over yet, family party tonight with in-laws but it will be low key

Hi Taf- sorry your broncos lost!
J- church than bkfst w/friends, than hubs and I spent all day "movie marathoning" we saw Gangster squad, Impossible, and This is 40 all good movies. Impossible was amazing.
E- none today
M- B: 1 egg, 1.5 pc bacon, 1/2 hashbrns, and pc of SD tst L: popcorn (lots) granola bar and granola thin D: 1c rice and 2 oz stk
S- didn't put anything on the popcorn, wanted candy , hubs wanted nachos didn't have either at movies. dailys done.
