I'm looking forward to the new challenge. This challenge has been good for me, it helped with a whole change of mindset for me. I'm in a different place than when we started.
I spent the day cleaning and organizing the kitchen. I'm getting rid of all my dessert cookbooks, no need to hang on to them, they don't reflect who I am anymore.
I made my goals and have one more snack for the day.
Happy New Year and thanks for the goodie!!!

I hope you are feeling better soon.
I made my goal today, despite having urges to snack in the afternoon, I waited to eat until dinner time. I got a lot of paperwork done today, it feels good to get that pile taken care of.
I like the idea of adding "'no spending" to the challenge.
One more snack and then the kitchen is closed.

You've had a very productive day, your chill sounds delicious too.

I love the idea of your challenge. I think we had a challenge simular to this one once. I think I'll add some like, had a "no spend " day , to make it interesing for some of the member to. Maybe we can get some others to join us for this one..Thanks again for the Great idea..
I will announce a new challenge to start off the new year.
We will end this one Sunday and start the new one on Monday ..

I've had a migraine most of the day, haven't felt like doing much of anything, I did go to work this morning before it started.
Can't eat with a migraine so the kitchen has been closed.
Tomorrow is a new day..hope to go golfing tomorrow if it goes away.

I made my goals today, and made a delicious pot of black bean and butternut squash chili with kale. I also took an hour long walk while I waited for my car to be fixed in addition to my regular exercise.

I once did a challenge where we got points for what we did during the day and then reported in at the end of the day. It could include things like:

I did not eat any cane sugar today.
I prayed, meditated, or wrote in my journal today.
I exercised at least 30 minutes today.
I did something creative or something I am passionate about today for 15 minutes or more.
I planned my eating for tomorrow.
I ate mindfully today.
I slept 7 or more hours last night.
I drank 8 glasses of water today.
I had 3 or more servings of vegetables today. (or whatever number is recommended)
etc.

You get one point for each item you did and then you post it on the challenge page.

What do you think?

I had another good day.

I walked to work and took Sam, (my dog) with me.
I worked outside most of the day ..away from the tempting snacks and food in general.

Walked back home, and tracked 7 miles on my trusty pedometer.

Had a nice dinner with a friend.
Kitchen is closed and resting up for another work day tomorrow.

Just wondering about starting another challenge,
do you have any ideas to start off the new year ??

I made my goals today. I was tempted at dinner at a friend's house to eat a cookie after the meal, but I passed on it and no one cared. Off for a bath then bed. Kitchen is closed.

Kept my goals today
Walked 3 miles.

Feeling tired is another problem I deal with too, seems to pop up in the winter time. The more I exercise the better I feel, it's just harder to do when it's colder weather.

Good idea to clear the fridge!
I made my goals all during the stay at my sister's. I did eat too much today, just my regular food, I was trying not to feel tired. Maybe my iron is low again. Otherwise a good day.

Thank you ..Christmas is a wonderful time of year.

I had a wonderful time with my son and his fiancé while they were in, they left yesterday afternoon, and now the house seems so empty , just me and Sam again.

I did have a few of the sweet treats, but tried to only have a bite or two. I am one of the people who think it's not a meal with something sweet..wish I could get out of that .. that habit is so hard to break.
I'm back to my normal routine and hopefully I can get back to walking outside as soon as this rain stiops..hopefully it won't turn to snow..for now I'm hitting the treadmill.

Merry Christmas!
! hope you had a good holiday, I'm having a nice time at my sister's. I go back home tomorrow. I managed to stay away from all the treats, not easy at times, but I did it. Off to watch a movie.

Have a wonderful time with your son, what a treat!
I'm at my sister's house, and have stayed clear of the sweets although they have several here. Many have been given to them as gifts.
I made my goal yesterday and am on track today.
Have a great day!

Have a Merry Christmas ,
I hope you have a wonderful time at your sisters.

I am expecting my son in any minute now, I'm so excited for him to finally get to come home.
I've managed to stay clear of the sweets again today, also got up early before the rain and walked with Sam, just a little over 5 miles.

The next couple days will also be busy for me, I'll check in when I can..

Stay strong emoticon

Tomorrow I'm off for a few days to go visit my sister, hopefully she won't have too many treats at her house. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to check in while I'm out of town.
Happy Holidays!

I know, it seemed to come fast.
I received a big box of gourmet baked goods from a relative today. Arrghh! My husband wants to keep them. Send me strength! I didn't have any today, but I don't like them in the house.
I made my goals and the kitchen is closed.

Can you believe it, Christmas is just about here.
Where has this year gone.

I kept my goals today, and walked 3 miles then I shopped till I dropped, now I have to start wrapping gifts, and cleaning house.
My son and his fiancé will be in early Friday morning, they will be driving in from Chicago. I plan on keeping my goals and hopfully I can get them to go for a long walk with me everyday if the weather is warm. They are use to walking in the city, so I'm sure Ky. back roads will not be a challenge for them.

Kitchen is closed.

It was a lot easier to stick to my plan yesterday evening, by the time I went through the line, almost everything was gone. Our church house was packed with children and parents, and grandparents.

I kept my goals again today, got out with my little dog Sam and walked 8 miles today.

I did pretty well through breakfast, and dinner.
I had planned out both meals and the calorie count , and I stuck to both exactly.
Both meals were a little on the high side of calories, but I did manage to stay away from sweets and fried foods.
I've got another party tomorrow evening for our kids Christmas play at church, followed by snacks and finger food. These parties are really hard on testing my will power. I am only taking what I know I can eat and will try again to avoid the sweet snacks.
Wish me luck ..got to stay strong.

I made my goal today. I forgot to mention yesterday, sunbutter is like peanut butter but is made with sunflower seeds. I'm allergic to nuts.

I've worked outside all day today at the camp,
away from food, and the temptations of the sweets.
I came home and ate a sensible dinner for a change. emoticon

Walked 5 miles and kept my goals.

Congratulations on resisting the treats tonight!
I did pretty good today, but I thought about food all day. I wasn't free from it. I will be so happy when I can just eat when I'm hungry and be easy about all this. I've been like that in the past so I can do it again.

Hopefully in a couple more weeks I can get past the season of eating (as i call it) . Sugar treats are everywhere. With the first bite, it keeps calling my name.
When I first started SP, and really decided to get serious, I fasted, and meditated in prayer, seems like I was able to rid my mind and my body of sugar. I am thinking about , doing it again, soon.
I may make that my New Years Resolution goal. I am still going to try real hard to keep my goals, just have to wait until then so all the sweet treats of Christmas is over and out of the way.
I attended a Ladies Christmas Tea , this evening, I was rerally proud of myself, I stayed away from the sweet treats and kept my goal.

headed to the treadmill to finish my 5 mile walk right now.
Kitchen is closed.

Sunbutter..is that like peanutbutter??
Keep your head up.. this to shall pass

Glad to hear you made your goals!
I can't however, say the same for myself. I ate my dinner and then had a sunbutter and jelly sandwich after. I think I was going for the sugar. I was really tired today. For some reason, I'm stuck on feeling deprived if I don't get my dessert. It all started with the pie at Thanksgiving.
Definitely a blunder. emoticon

Well, at least I hope you enjoyed it. I find the real blunders I make are when I just overeat due to emotional reasons or being overtired. Not fully enjoying some delicious food, but eating with desperation. It 's funny, when I go to visit my sister we eat out often, eat great food and even desserts, but I always lose weight when I'm at her house.

In any event like you said, tomorrow is a new day, and it will be a good one.
My kitchen is closed, I mostly made my goal, although I ate my snack too close to my dinner time, I was tired and should have just taken a bath or exercised instead.

my sweet tooth got the better of me, a small piece of cake with ..yes, ice cream.
Would someone kick me..

Thank you,
I love to walk, and I try to do it first thing every morning. When it's not raining, I walk to work and I am able to do a lot of walking with the part time job I have now, I work for a KOA campground , when I retired, I wanted to do something I didn't have to drive 30 minutes (to our closes town) to work out in a gym..one of my SP friends inspired me to start walking and hiking, I'll never forget my first day, 86 lbs heavier.after 1/2 mile .I didn't think I'd make it back to the house. I didn't quit..and now I can walk forever..I don't have to get dressed up to go.

I made my goals today,, and I walked 5 miles

I love garage sales,
I've been going to a few thrift stores, looking for a used Christmas tree. Seems as though I've waited to long, everyone else seems to be looking for one to.

Glad to hear your back on track emoticon

So sorry, the quote is absolutely right.
We have to just get on with it..it happens and it happens to me to.
Tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning.
Hang in there, and hold your head up high, you have done a great job of keeping your goals.

I kept my goals for the day.
Didn't get as much walking in, but I played with the 12 kids I had in my class today, and I feel like I had a workout..

I didn't make my goal today. emoticon
I decided I wouldn't have the pie anymore, but then went into some kind of panic mode about being deprived, and bought a bag of cookies and ate half of it. I still fill sick.
I think I need to go back and start writing down my menus for the day.
Oh well, I read a great quote today which I need to take to heart.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hope you feel better soon..

A typical day of food for me,
I start my day early 6:00am
Breakfast is usually a serving of steel cut oats..I fix them in a crock pot, enough for the entire week, sometimes I even have them for my snack. I sometimes add apples and cinn, or peaches, sometimes just peanut butter. so many different variation.
10 am I have an apple or some kind of fruit. decaf coffe
12pm I have FF plain yogurt and sometimes some kind of fruit, grapes
2:pm orange, apple, grape or a snack bar
5pm I make a stir fry.serving of canola or olive oil with all sorts of veggies, with either fish or chicken mostly chicken ..not to fond of fish
7 or 8 I have another healthy snack
I try to have at least 5 serving of fruit or veggies a day, Choose whole grain when possible, 2 serving of FF or 1% milk product. I try to limit my intake of sugar, I do use splenda when cooking anything that calls for sugar. Try to drink 6 glasses of water . No alcohol at all.
But as you know I do have trouble from time to time. When I eat at home I can do fine..
This time of year is very hard for me ..way tooo many dinners and sweet temtations every where and thats my biggest downfall.

I made my goals today, I golfed for about 3 hours today walked and carried my clubs, very unusual weather for KY this time of the year.

I made my goal of not snacking, but I still had a cookie at a work luncheon and a piece of pie at home after dinner. I feel a bit heavier since Thanksgiving. I feel I need to clean up my eating a bit more. What's a typical day's food for you? Lately I've been having an egg and a slice of toast for breakfast, lunch depends, my lunch period just got shortened to about 10 minutes, so I have to have something fast, and dinner is usually fish, chicken or turkey with veggies and a carb of some sort. Since Thanksgiving I've also had a slice of pie with ice cream at dinner. I guess that's where the weight added on. It's a low sugar pie, but still....
Off to bed early to try and sleep off this cold.

I was very thankful I had a Dr. appointment the day I got it and was able to get some antibiotics in me. I hope it's not the same thing I had a few weeks ago, I still have the nasal congestion from it.
Get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids.

I made my goals
I went for my annual check up yesterday, everything, blood pressure, weight, lungs, and heart checkout really good, he said everything was steady as clockwork.

I've been cleaning my kitchen this evening
Cleaned for a couple hours on cabinets and drawers.

I've been putting it off for a while, so I decided to go ahead and get started on it.
I've stayed away from the snacking and stayed on track of my goals.

I did mostly well today. I stopped in Starbucks for lunch, which I rarely do, and ordered a piece of gingerbread with my chicken sandwich, I am tempted by fall treats. However, when I tried it, it was too sweet for me and didn't taste good. So I just had a bite. Busy day around the house, a relaxing bath is in order!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, with family and friends I was really proud of myself, I did as I had planned.
I had mostly veggys, and 1 small piece of cake.
Alto I didnt get to do any kind of exercise, so that wasn't as good as I had expected.
I did get out today and played 9 holes of golf and walked and carried my clubs. Was 55 here today, sun shine, just a beautiful day.

Kitchen is closed, and back on track

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Day. I did well, just had one piece of pumpkin pie as a treat. I'm really glad we are doing this challenge, it really helps me with the mindless snacking and when I fell off the wagon, I was able to get right back on it the next day.

I walked 3 miles, the first day I've felt like I could breath since my cold a couple weeks ago.

Kitchen is still open, I have to prepare Mr. Tom for his Big Day later tonight.
No mindless eating for me tho.

Have a Great Thanksgiving Everyone!!

We've almost made it to Thanksgiving with the Fitness Challenge of Keeping our Goals.

So how do you feel about the progress you've made since the start this challenge 10/20/11.

For me, I 'm glad I joined this challenge because I have been able to control the
mindless snacking after dinner for the most part, I did have a couple days of set backs, but was able to bounce back and start over.
Trading a bad habit for a good habit has helped me to maintain instead of gain, like I have so many times in the past.

BELLA9999, I know exactly what ya mean, this weather is depressing,

..I had to just get out of this house today, so I went to work for a couple hours and then grocery shopping , although I haven't been eating healthy , the last few days I did eat some fruit today.
So I can always tell when my appitite comes back ..I'm on the mend.
I'm going to try to get more walking in tomorrow , to meet my goal

My kitchen is closed
Lights are out

JAMBABY0 , Great to hear about your success!!! emoticon
LOOSINGIT, I'm glad to hear you're getting a little better.
I had a so-so day. It was dark and rainy all day and I didn't make the best food choices. Tomorrow is a new day.

Starting to feel a little better,
just have no energy to do anything.

I ate some soup today, and it felt so good on my throat.

I'm sure tomorrow will be even better

I made my goal today. I'm craving some good food though, something different.
I hope you wake up feeling better.
Off to bed and the kitchen is closed.

I hope you're feeling better today. A good nights sleep will help.

I have a tendency to do the same thing..
I sometime would rather just have the convenience of something quick to eat, like a chicken sandwich from a fast food restaurant but then, my appetite is not satisfied because it doesn't fill me up like a meal and by bed time I'm looking for something more to eat. If I had cooked I could have been satisfied with a healthy balanced meal.

I met my goals today,
walked 5 miles

Kitchen is closed and I'm headed to bed
