"If a person wants to be a part of your life, they will make an obvious effort to do so. Think twice before reserving a space in your heart for people who do not make an effort to stay."
"Your happiness is up to you. Whatever happened in your life to make you who you are up until this point is irrelevant. It is your responsibility now to take control and change your life to be what you want it to be. Energy and persistence conquer all things. Make time, not excuses."

You can try to sell it online through selling sites like eBay or Craiglist. If there is a second hand bookstore in your area, maybe you can sell those books there. Also you can post in in your FB account and maybe some of your friends will get interested.
DVD & CD - Craigslist, Ebay or try a Record store that buys and sells used CD and DVD's.
You can also sell your books on Ebay and Craigslist also.
The best person that would know is Gail but, she is on a cruse right now. She just did all of that. I don't know what your time frame is on how soon you need to sell but, if you want to wait a while maybe Gail can give you some insight when she gets back.

With the books, you may want to see if there is a used bookstore in your area where you can get trading credit. Not quite straight cash, but it will let you pick out new books if you can't go to the library.
Not sure about the DVDs and CDs. Those are going to be hard to sell and it will probably take a lot of effort to even get a small amount of cash for them if you do it at a garage sale or craigslist.
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?" - Alice from Alice in Wonderland
I have TONS of books everywhere!! Some I have read, some not. I have decided to no longer buy books (or dvds or cds) so I borrow them from my local library. I can extend the time if I am not done with them in 3 weeks. Now the BIG QUESTION- Where can I unload the books, cds and dvds I currently have??? 1) Must be easy 2) prefer to be able to sell them so I can get some cash out of it 3) will donate them to salvation army as a last resort and write them off on my taxes. Open to hearing from you if you have had some good experiences and where you went to unload these items.
FOCUS- one day at a time..... Progress NOT perfection
