Ginger for an upset stomach. Ginger tea or crystallized ginger chopped fine and added to iced citrus beverage with a little honey or agave.

When my sinuses are really, really bad I sometimes boil a pot of water, take it off the heat, and then put a towel over my head and my head over the steaming water. I've never tried it with eucalyptus in it, but I would assume that it would work great with either eucalyptus or tea tree oil in it, or even something like Vicks Vapo Steam. (I've just never done it with anything besides plain water.)

There was much rejoicing!

For sinus a few spoons of common salt in hot (not boiling) water in a bowl. Breath it in. Eucalyptus is also good.

I don't know if it's a general ailment lol but i read that to aid memory retention - drink herbal tea such as 1/4 teaspoon of rosemary, marjoram, sage, or basil in a cup of boiling water. Also a serve of almonds is meant to help too.

I know I can, I know I can, I know I can....

"Home Remedies for Nausea" [from TipNut]

If the cause of nausea is from morning sickness due to pregnancy, please donít try any of these home remedies until your doctor OKs it.

-- Ginger: Ginger snaps, Candied ginger, Ginger Ale, 1/2 tsp Ginger powder mixed in glass of water, sip
-- Teas: Peppermint, Ginger, Chamomile, Lemon, Raspberry, Cinnamon. Can also try a tea made with fresh ginger and lemon juice or a few cloves steeped in hot water
-- Tummy Munchies: Soda crackers, Digestive biscuits, Animal crackers, Melba toast, Graham crackers, Cheerios (without the milk)
-- Flat 7-Up, Coca-Cola, Ginger Ale or try Cola Syrup
-- Sucking on hard candy (like peppermints, lifesavers, sour candy)
-- 1 TBS apple cider vinegar plus 1 TBS honey mixed in 1 cup of water, sip. Can be hot or cold drink, whichever you prefer [TBS = Tablespoon]
-- 1/2 tsp Baking soda in glass of warm water (*a no-no if youíre pregnant)
-- Sip dill pickle juice
-- Fresh lime or lemon squeezed in glass of water, sprinkle a little salt on top, sip
-- 1 tsp cumin seeds mixed in a glass of milk, or a glob of yogurt, or eat the seeds plain
-- Suck on popsicles, ice chips, ice cubes
-- Suck on a wedge of lemon or lime

One Remedy You Can Try For Easing Nausea Is A Cup Of Chamomile Tea

If the cause of nausea is unknown and persists for more than a couple days, see your doctor.
If youíre in physical pain and vomiting, or know of a recent head injury (even the seemingly silly bad bumps) and youíre nauseous, see a doctor.

In the wintertime my skin gets super dry. The best way I've found to deal with it is to make sugar scrub and use it every time I shower.

Mix up a cup of plain old sugar with just a little drizzle of cooking oil -- I like almond oil -- in a plastic container with a lid. You do not want to use so much oil that it makes the sugar melt, just enough to know barely moisten it. After you've washed, scrub all over with the sugar mixture, then rinse and pat dry.

Here's an unusual list from Women's Day of 10 non-medicinal (natural) remedies for stress:

"10 All-Natural Chill Pills:
Get relief from stress, irritability and more with these nonmedicinal remedies"

It lists some of the usually-mentioned herbs along with other things like Sweet Potatoes and Peanut Butter. ...Interesting.
Each item gets a concise paragraph, so it's a quick read.

I buy the essential oil at the health food store. I also make oregano tea when I'm feeling a cold coming on. It does not taste great and you will have pizza breath but it works

I have just had my tonsils taken out and had more than one person suggest gargling with Oregano Oil. You really have to dilute it so that you do not burn your mouth. Like 3 drops per 8oz of water and mix it well but it has helped me and my boyfriend. We do it when ever we get the tickle in our throats that says we may be getting a cold etc.

Suggestions and cautions from an e-mail health newsletter in the UK:

"To help reduce the symptoms of heartburn, indigestion, nausea or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), consider peppermint."
"The dried leaves of the peppermint plant come in teas (look for 100 per cent pure peppermint leaves), oils (both enteric-coated capsules to swallow and essential oils for topical use), as well as creams and rubs."
"While peppermint can help many, children should not be given peppermint tea - it can cause a choking sensation."
"Similarly, adults with a tendency toward gastric reflux should avoid peppermint as it can worsen symptoms."
"In addition, be sure to never ingest undiluted peppermint oil, as it can be toxic."

It's intersting to see how we try this and that high tech thing, and then find out in the end that what works the best (in many parts of life, not just health related stuff) is the simple low tech way our parents and grandparents used to do things.

There was much rejoicing!

Gargle warm salt water when you have a sore throat. The salt will break up the mucus in your throat, which is where the bacteria live so you'll kill off any bacteria that are in your throat and hopefully avoid getting sick from whatever is causing your sore throat.

GAEA3070:
I have the quickest & easiest remedy for toe nail fungus--

I diluted a tiny bit of Tea Tree Oil in water and kept it in a squeeze bottle.

When I took a shower and began rinsing off the soap, I closed the drain (to catch the soapy water) and squirted in some of the diluted tea tree oil water.
The soapy water and tea tree oil took care of my feet while I finished taking a shower.
When the water rose to about ankle height, I opened the drain (while still showering); after the water drained out, I rinsed my feet.
(Remember to dry between your toes.)

It actually took about three months (not a year, like with drug treatment), but I continued it for a little more than six months to make sure it would never come back.
It didn't.

I used apple cider vinegar and soaked my toes for 2 weeks because I had a very bad case. Now I apply with a cotton swab daily. It's been a few months but the new nails have grown about halfway so far.

I think I will have to try the "four seed chew."
A word to the wise: mint can make gastric reflux worse as it weakens the muscle between the stomach and the esophagus.

Any other tips out there emoticon

For a sore throat, gargle with a mixture of 4oz of warm water and 1 T of apple cider vinegar and then drink it down.
If I think I am getting a cold, I start drinking hot tea with 2 tsp of honey and 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar-it quiets a cough and helps to open the sinuses.
I use vicks for toe fungus-rub it on morning and evening and you can see results in a few weeks.
I also rub vicks on the bottom of the foot and put on socks when I have congestion.

For Toe Fungus:

Mix 1/2 regular Listerine with 1/2 White Vinegar

I apply with a soaked Q-tip twice a day. Works great and you can see improvement in just a few weeks.

I apply once or twice a week now that it's gone.
