Do you guys set certain goals for each month, or does each person post a monthly goal, or do you just post whatever your working on at the time?

Figured I better start thinking about making some kind of changes. I'm a month behind on 2-3 bills. We are living on DHs SSI & part of DDs SSI.

1of our DSs was living at home until he was incarcerated. Thank God DH got the credit card paid off, altho we'll prob need it to pay off DSs fines(beside DS that is in jail, we got another DS on probation, he has fines, too).

I'm just gonna have to put my foot down & not buy anything that is not absolutely necessary!

Any ideas, tips, are welcome!!!

If I make it thru April w/o being withdrawed, I've got to do ST to get my finances under control. I can't handle the stress of worrying all the time if the checking is gonna go over draw!

Well...We've stuck to not eating out, except once, and we had a coupon, and it was planned. Grocery shopping once a week, eating out of the pantry. Only buying what is necessary. And tracking our expenses. One big blow to our budget was having to buy pet food this month because we buy the big bags. $72.00!!! That should last a long while, though!

All Right! What successes y'all have had!!

I want to get aggressively saving up for a car repair that will need to be done in the future, hopefully farther rather than nearer, future.

Eating more out of my pantry, riding my bike to work, walking to the library rather than driving, maybe even walking to the grocery store if I get really motivated!

This doesn't have anything to do with my goal, but I managed to get DH to agree to eat at home tonight. We will be going to a birthday party tomorrow, and I didn't want to eat out 2 nights in a row. AND, this will save me $30-$40!

That means I have already not spent over $60 this month! emoticon

That's awesome! A huge step in the right direction. I haven't been shopping yet this month. We usually do our shopping on Saturdays...I'm going to get a list together before then and STICK to it! Thanks for the motivation. emoticon

Today my grocery list just said fruits and veggies. I did really good and only spent $11. I have enough other stuff on hand to make it thru next week!!! A normal weekly shopping trip averages $40. So today, I didn't spend $29 emoticon

I have a vacation coming at the end of May. So naturally, I want to lose a few pounds before then and save up some spending money. For April, I have decided to only buy what is on my grocery list. I know it is a small thing to do financially, but this will help me spend less money and also brings less temptations into the house which will help lead to weight loss also-I hope!

My goal for April is to track every penny. I used to be really good about this and just slacked off completely. I really want to quit FT work soon and I know this will help me acheive that goal.

I thought I'd start a thread where we could start some financial goals for the month of April. Budget, debt, savings, etc. Lets make some and help each other stick with them! emoticon
