Several years ago there were a couple of guys on talk radio who were associated with www.fool.com, anybody remember them? Are they still around? I think it was a pair of brothers, surname Gardner or something like that. Anyway, I used to listen to their show once a week for all kinds of great financial advice from buying a car, investments, paying down debt, and just making informed decisions overall.

Of course I like Suze Orman and Dave Ramsey too.

Definitely Dave Ramsey for us. My husband started listening to his radio show, and we are about to start Financial Peace University.

I was inspired by Amy Dacyzcyn, who wrote The Tightwad Gazette, and the fellow who wrote The Millionaire Next Door, whose name escapes me right now.

My mother is constantly clipping coupons. She taught me that no matter how much money I have, to not waste it. After all money doesn't grow on trees. I would think there are also people less fortunate than I who can think of smarter ways to spend.

Woo Hoo!

I LOVE Dave Ramsey's stuff. Am doing the Financial Peace University and Total Money Makeover - having great success.

I just finished a book: Cheapskate Living, I think that was the title. I think it was by Mary Hunt. I liked her very practical suggestions.

I also like Larry Burkett and the Millionaire Next Door books.

Glad I found this group!!!!

I have to say the first book I read about being debt free was Debt Free Living by Mary Hunt. It really made me realize that not everyone lives in piles of debt.

I recently read Total Money Makeover and really identified with it. I'm half-way baby stepping my way to financial freedom!
