Some things good, some not so good.

I am still too busy, and I am not having any luck at getting caught up so I can get enough sleep and have enough time for my Beck activities.

The good news is, I did a lot of cooking this weekend to be able to eat well during the week.

My DH and I went to Les Mis last night. It was a really good production! Neither of us had seen it before, and we did not quite understand what was going on! We should have read about it first! But we actually figured out most of it, and had a good time. Also we went to a lovely dinner.

Well Week Two was better... or started off better. Goals were to start with elliptical which i did 3 or 4x out of the 5 writing days--- one day I tried yoga instead and then went back after my first hour of work to do the first-thing aerobics so that was the "or 4" day. It definitely worked when I did it, tho, so i'm going to keep trying to make it a habit. i want to get to a place where its as automatic as eating breakfast. No necessarily elliptical, but it DOES have to be aerobic. we may get warm enough weather to clear the sidewalks for some walking!! I only did yoga once but that was once more than previous weeks

WEEK THREE GOALS: be more consistent with morning exercise, logging, etc. Do yoga TWICE

Monday: ate in range and logged, did 15 minutes ellipt in morning; 25 minutes wii dance in evening, did good work

Tuesday: went just over range, logged, did 3 miles Leslie in morning, work was very very good

Wednesday: started day with 25 minutes elliptical; stayed in range but went to BRAT in second half of day when my stomach got queasy, got work done in morning

Thursday: sick, ate below range, no exercise

Gwynnie, I am working on a "challenge" that will work for a few of us on the Jewish team. I am taking things that you said, that Eddy said, and also working with Rachel, to put together something to help us stay on track. When you get back from your trip, I'll tell you how it is looking.

We are aiming at something that celebrates the behaviors that we are trying to do (along the lines of giving credit like Beck says). We are thinking we don't want to just be down on ourselves for not being "perfect" on whatever we decide we want to be accountable for, but it does help if we write out what we are trying to be accountable for. Then, just focus on what we DID do right.

So, it is not that different from this February thread! So, I've been a little off topic here!

Let me check in on what we are doing HERE about using February to stay on track by LOVING MYSELF!
I'm continuing to work on keeping my own needs in mind and not allowing myself to get as overloaded as I did recently. It takes a while to dig out of this, but I am making progress.

Now, I have been typing for too long! I have to go get my work done so I will not stay behind and overloaded!

Today I went to the pool even though we are in this freezing cold weather. I am proud of that. Also, after I swam my laps, I went into the therapy pool. I usually just stretch in there for ten minutes, but I ran into a friend, and we walked back and forth in the water for over a half hour!!!

My eating was also good today.

But I am not completely "loving myself" yet this month because I still have too much going on and I'm not sleeping enough.

Tomorrow is a really open day for me (just students at 5 pm, 7 pm, and 8 pm, but nothing all day. So I am planning to get a lot done!!! I have to get caught up on a lot of things, but with that many hours, I should at least make a dent.

Gwyn, enjoy your trip. Don't worry about the food. Keep your mind in the right place - eating just to fuel your body and getting lots of enjoyment out of the sights and the people, and you will do fine. Be sure to have fun!

Okay week one went waaaay off track.

WEEK TWO GOALS: start my day with 10 minutes of elliptical to get my brain awake and my body moving. Focus on writing. Buy more flowers. Log, exercise, etc.

Monday: stayed in range and logged; 45 minutes aerobics including morning 15 minutes on elliptical; 2 hours writing; have yellow and purple tulips in living room and office

Tuesday: went just over range (ate out) and logged; morning elliptical, 35 minutes total of aerobics, pluse strength training; 2 hours writing

Wednesday: logged but over range by 500 (unplanned eating at home; tried morning yoga instead of elliptical, after one hour of not really writing went back and did elliptical... no further exercise

Thursday: morning elliptical, 1 hour writing, then plumbers here all afternoon making lots of noise... ate out for dinner, still haven't logged that (working my way back right now)

Friday: not a work day-- took planned day trip for a seminar, feeling awful last night and in morning, didn't log yet, no exercise (in car all day)

Saturday: tried to get back on track but didn't start with elliptical. had non writing work to do and did about half of what I wanted to get done, back-logged and was about 150 calories over range, did do core exercises

Sunday: surprisingly "low' weigh-in compared to what I was seeing earlier in the week and how much I overate this week: 195.5 Stayed in range (including eating lasagna and chocolate covered strawberries-- I prelogged those!) walked 3 miles on track

When I first saw your new Spark name, I knew it was because you love to dance! Then, as time went on, I just found myself hearing that song in my head!

I am going to a brunch today and I do not know anything about the food. I will try my best to choose something reasonable to eat. I will also be feeling some stress because there will be tons of people I know there, and the brunch is to honor my husband for all that he does for our Jewish community. Mob scenes are not my specialty. I'll just do my best...

My February goals is to build up my walking so I'm ready to get outside when the weather is better. Also, to get focused on my diet goals.

dh had a snow day today, which was good because my grandmother passed away this morning... its very eerie that these deaths happened so close together-- two weeks ago this morning we were at dh's grandmother's funeral.

Woo Hoo Gwynnie!!!

I have to confess that every time I read your new Spark name, I start singing the mama mia song Dancing Queen in my head, and also, even after all this time, ...

I still always sing Cat Stevens Moon Shadow in my head every single time I see Heidi here.

I'm a song person!!!

Snowed in today, and loving it! I need to get some things done. I have already realized it will not be as much as I wished to get done, but I am continuing on my February path of
LOVING MYSELF, and I have plans tomorrow to see my life coach and also have a massage. Could life be any better? (To be honest, I have been a BASKET CASE since school started, but I am feeling hopeful that I am going to be able to get a grip!!!)

And Rachel, how's it going? You know that this is all about MAKING FEBRUARY COUNT!!!! Even if that is not the title. That is what we are all doing here, so, you did so great with this in January. Keep up the good work!!!

It is so amazing, Marsha, to see someone maintaining a weight loss like yours!!!

We are in the middle of being dumped with snow. I am LOVING having tomorrow off school!!!!

I'm going to love myself in February by carefully figuring out (or at least starting to figure out) how to maintain at my happy weight of 126. Since I was 127.2 this morn, first I have to get there. Weight Watchers gives you 6 weeks to find your maintenance range, but some people take longer. I think my maintenance will be at 1775 with 300 calories burned per day. I may find out it is a little less than that.

Long range plans After I've maintained for a solid month, I'm going to work on my problem of too much artificial sweetener. In the past, I gain when I try to cut back. I think if I treat it as a craving and use the Beck techniques I may win this time.

After one year of successfully maintaining around 126 I'm going to give up my obsession with the scale. That's the plan!

I am going to increase my amount of exercise from 20 minutes a day to 30 minutes a day. I am also going to increase my intake of fruits and veggies. I got off to a great start in January and want to keep it going!

Okay here are my goals: I need to stay on top of the basics: tracking food etc. I'm also going to add these "love myself" goals:

1. Add yoga back into my exercise routine. This week I will do yoga for 20 minutes 3x

2. Buy flowers for myself every week. This actually has a strong Beck/transformation meaning for me that I wrote about on the check in thread.

3. Give myself credit every day.

I LOVE this idea! So, as soon as today is over and January is really done, I'll make this a sticky topic,

And Heidi, when you mentioned that holiday, you forgot to mention that it seems to also be dedicated to CHOCOLATE!!! Oh No!!!

Anyway, I am going to love myself this month by:
- going to meet with my life coach to get my life back in order! It is this Thursday!!!!
- making time for getting to the pool
- buying and cooking delicious healthy foods including vegetables
- staying in touch with my wonderful sons!
- trying to get both myself and my DH to stop being such workaholics so we can try to do something fun once in a while!
- talking on the phone to my parents almost every day (and being grateful to have them!)

Ha ha! It is already sticky. I forgot that Heidi can do that! GREAT!!!

Hi folks,
It sounded like I wasn't the only one who wanted to keep going/start over/regroup...

February is four weeks with a day dedicated to overpriced roses and love in the middle of it. I bought a pot of bright red tulips to distract me from the latest snow storm bearing down on us tonight and started thinking about the month to come.... I'll come back and post some new goals this time I think. In the meanwhile...
