I was okay on my calories. I did snack a little more than I liked. But, I did track my calories. I'll be also keeping track in my planner which will help me when I don't have the computer.

Hi Grace - Weight watchers points fit just as well as calories -- it's what we count to stay in range, right?

I would imagine you can just point your target range in points and then post how well you did with them like everyone else is doing with calories - that should work fine.

And Dr. Beck does say to pick our plan -- one size doesn't fit all. And Dr. Beck's emphasis is changing our thinking and our behavior so that whatever plan we pick will work for us.

My calorie goal is 1000-1200/1500. I try to vary my calories. I also tend to have about 200 calories allotted for extras.

I track my food on my tracker which is public. Can I just do that or do I have to post my food also? I have gotten a calendar where I can also journal my food.

I forgot to weigh this morning. Will post mine tomorrow.

I'd like to join in. I was doing really well, but got derailed. I think this will (along with dusting off BDS) get me back on track.

My tracker is public. I would like to keep my calories between 1400 and 2000-but more importantly for me-eating smaller frequent meals rather than one big one a day. Thats the habit I have gotten back into:(

As Beck (RUN2RIDE) explained, you have to go to your sparkpage on the Edit mood...go to top right area and click the button (share food tracker).

And when you track you food (as u used to do on spark food tracker) it will automatically be viewed by other ppl if they clicked (food tracker button) on ur sparkpage!

you have 3 choices for posting in this challenge:
1. writting every bite you eat with calories & posting it here (daily or weekly)

2. tracking your food on Spark food tracker and share it to public view & post here only ur progress... Done or Not and how many calories u ate

3. posting only Done or Not and how many calories u ate & wt did u eat wrong.

No problem about not exercising we track only food here emoticon

Well! I didnt understand what did u mean by writting down wt u eat after u turn off the computer!!
can u explain more?

About writting wt u eat is the aim of our challenge so u will think when u eat something wrong that u have to write it & everyone will read it!
so it motivates u to stick to ur diet plan!

you can post wt u eat for each day on the morning of the day after...
for example: writting wt u ate on Sunday on Monday Morning...

Anyway if you found writting wt ate is so difficult for you then u can post only how many total calories u ate
& if you exceeded your calories range write down wt u ate wrong!

Kelly -- "Writing down food after the computer's turned off" - I know what you mean ;-) - LOL!!!

Love the idea of sharing our food trackers and then just posted the daily summary here...

To share your food tracker - you can just "Edit Your Spark Page", at the top right, there's a column of "other options" One of the check boxes is for "Sharing Food Tracker". Put a check mark in there, save your changes and voila! And then anyone can see your food tracker.
Which I'm finding to be VERY motivating (gulp!) emoticon

OK - I'm in. I am in a wheelchair & only have use of my right arm. So exercise is almost out of the question. But I can track my food. Just have this little problem - writing down what I eat after I turn the computer off for the night!

This should be fun getting to know some new people.

Hi -- I'm beck... I spell it w/a little "b" here so as not to confuse it with Dr. Beck - LOL!

I was on this team a lot as I lost my last 25# and following the "days" in the Beck Solution was a huge part of my learning how to do this.

I reached my goal of 154 last fall, and then lost more to 146, and then gained about 10#. I'm happiest between 145 and 150 and would like to get back there.

I'm having fun w/a new, very challenging, workout program and the mirror says I'm getting leaner and losing my muffin top but the scale hasn't gone down at all. I think if I can stay in a calorie range of 1700-2000, I would drop the extra fat too...

I'm in on this too -- I know tracking food intake is a BIG part of success and the one area I need the most kicking to do emoticon

My college has a Holiday reception today too but I will be getting there probably when it is over so no temptations for me emoticon meeting afterwards though that may have some goodies-- will be moderate in my choices if that is the case emoticon

Okay, I'm in. You all know I've been struggling with the food log for the last few weeks. And I'm feeling stuck with my weight loss. My calorie range is 1700-1900. I use the food log here.

Do I have to wait until Monday? You all can see the 340 calories of homemade fudge I just ate if I start today...guess I'm going for "no food, no options" at the college holiday reception this afternoon. emoticon

I'm in! I totally agree about the importance of a food diary. I just finished a "back to basics" challenge on another team - journaling every bite was part of it. What I learned was that when I journal, I sometimes go over my calorie range. But when I don't journal? I ALWAYS go over calorie range - yikes!

This will be a fun challenge -- great people, every bit and I really need to get back to weighing in every week. I've been working out hard for a couple months and am losing my muffin top but the scale is staying put. Sounds like a good time for a transition to losing some of the fat again. :-)

I use the nutrition tracker -- and I really like the idea that, for just a few weeks, we write it all down here too. I bet the act of re-writing it will be a great learning tool and help to see patterns or where we could change things up. Sometimes it's the easy swaps that are most helpful.

One Day Food Diary Sample:

Breakfast: 180kcal
7:00 am 1 cup of tea & Milk with no sugar 60kcal
9:00 am 1 cup of cappuccino with diet sugar + 1 bar of Oats with sesames 120kcal

Snack: 160kcal
12:00 pm soup 60kcal
1:30 pm chocolate drink 100kcal


Lunch: 600kcal
5:30pm Chicken salad with dressing 500 kcal + 1 small apple 80 kcal

Snack: 350kcal
7:30pm small piece of chocolate cake 200kcal + milk shake with coffee flavor 150kcal


Water: 4 cups
Drinks: 6 cups ( 1 cup of tea & Milk, 1 cup of cappiccino , 1 cup of milkshake. 2 cups of earl grey tea, 1 cup of chocolate drink)


Total Calories: 1290 kcal

since I believe food diary is the best way to lose weight I want to start a weight loss challenge for 4 weeks starts from next Monday 14th December 2009 and end by Sunday 10th Januray 2009

Week 1: Mon 14th Dec - Sun 20th Dec
Week 2: Mon 21st Dec - Sun 17th Dec
Week 3: Mon 28th Dec - Sun 3rd Jan
Week 4: Mon 4th Jan - Sun 10th Jan

Rule 1: setting a calories range goal
Rule2: writing a daily food diary
Rule3: weekly weigh-in on Mondays and delivering the whole week food diary report Or you can post it on daily bases.

You have 3 choices for posting in this challenge:
1. Writting every bite you eat or drink with calories & posting it here (daily or weekly)

2. Tracking your food on Spark food tracker and share it to public view & post here only ur progress... Done or Not and how many calories u ate

3. Posting only Done or Not and how many calories u ate & wt did u eat wrong.
