I think you will like the idea after you do it. No temptations leftover. I really like the idea of the holidays without temptations and wish I could do the same thing. I have been known to do a turkey another day so we could have some of the traditional leftovers when we spent the holiday away from home. Our plans changed for this year and I'm really thinking about limiting our meal to just the foods we like or want. Nothing more. No stuffing, since no one really likes it in our house. But, truth is I like your plans better.
My goal is to have a nice holiday and not go into food overload.
Funny, I Don't FEEL 50 (or 60 - it's all good)!

My DH and I are staying home this Thanksgiving; and for the first time in 38 years of marriage, he has suggested going out for the special day. I like it--no temptations leftover at home. My goal is to get used to the idea and enjoy the day, not feel disappointed I am not cooking "our" traditional meal.
