My initial attempt at the picnic in June was feeble...too many distractions to really present to many folks.

BUT! Our director recently asked me to try again during a lunch hour and send out an agency-wide email inviting others to attend.

So we'll see how that goes.

I have spread the word among all the people that I work with as a travel nurse I meet a lot of people. They are all impressed with my weight loss but unfortunately some are not ready to go! Last week I had an appointment with my doctor for my annual physical, she asked me how I had managed to lose the weight so I told her. She has taken the name of the website and is going to use it to help other patients.

I have prepared the SHRIMP SALAD by Busymom. Add some Old Bay seasoning (if you live on the East Coast) or Seafood Seasoning to add a little "bite" to it. It's great for a one-dish hot weather meal.

i love spark recipes---what about printing up a some recipes and having them on the table to pass out? maybe a couple of articles on the benefits of exercise [especially strength exercises]

this is fantastic! kudos to you for spreading the spark and putting yourself out there!

oh, if you can get copies of some of the magazine articles that have featured spark--that would be motivating and inspiring to some as well :)))

Hi,
I have been trying to get people active in this site around here for a while myself. I basically got the brush off. That is great on your part for spreading the spark. I think it is an awesome idea to get consumers and workers involved in something like this, especially in our field of Mental Health because exercise is such a big part of helping with Depression and other aspects of Mental Health. I would bring up the benefits of exercise and good nutrition in Mentally Ill and all people. Other then that I think you have done all that you can do, emoticon emoticon emoticon to spread the spark!!!! You are a true inspiration. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Recently our outpatient mental health agency sent out a questionaire regarding employee interest in healthy pursuits and services which they could provide and I wrote and wrote about the wonders of SP and the benefits if our company could promote SP for its employees.

Now we have an agency picnic coming this Friday and TODAY I'm told that they would like me to be available to talk up SP...which of COURSE I AM! BUT: I would like to MAXIMIZE my presence with anything and everything anyone could recommend I bring along.

I am already fowarding the Spread the Spark cards and flyers so that we can get boatloads of them printed up. I thought the recent article about our two members in People and Good Housekeeping might be good as well.

Do folks have OTHER resources within SP which they feel might be helpful for me to have printed up and available for prospective newcomers?

Unfortunately this is very short notice, but I thought I'd get as many suggestions as possible from folks.
