if that is the case I think it is raw onion and not cooked onion
I love to cook onion till it is a brown mess but I think that turns it to acid...because of the carmelization / the sugar? but thanks for clearing that up for me!

Can you please clarify the information I know celery is base but what base=alkaline or acidic? I'm confused?? Celery I know is base or get rid of acid if you have heartburn (something thank the heavens I never get)

Alkaline-Forming Foods - avocados, corn, dates, fresh coconut, fresh fruits (most), fresh veggies (most especially kudzu, onions, potatoes, rutabagas), honey, horseradish, maple syrup, molasses, mushrooms, onions, raisins, soy products, sprouts, umeboshi plums, watercress

Low-level Alkaline-forming foods - almonds, blackstrap molasses, brazil nuts, chestnuts, lima beans, millet and soured dairy products

hiya!
I haven't started much yet, I am a vegetarian so that is considerable start compared to other starts. I have added alfalfa tablets and am using olive oil over other oil in my diet. Also I have ordered a few books so that I can read about this. I am doing baby steps in everything, I want to improve slowly so I do not do something for the short term, but rather the long term. Until I read more I am not sure if I will be doing ph tests or tweaking my diet until I do so in a more informed way. The alfalfa tablets were added because they were relatiively inexpensive and something that matched nutritional diet changes I had made in the past that seemed to be working for me. I will post more as I learn more.

I am currently trying to get my pH to stay in the optimal range as well. The NP suggested I use UltraClear with pH. It's a powder that you mix with water or juice.

Are you using pH test strips to see how you're doing?

I have a list at home and will try to post in the next few days. Most fresh raw fruits and veggies are alkaline. Legumes (beans) and meats are acidic. Citrus fruits are alkaline. Almonds are mildly alkaline. Molasses as well.

I've done the candida cleanse, As I understand this is one way to become more base as the yeast makes one acidic. I'm curious about this myself it will be interesting to see what gets posted here.
I also know one of the most acidic veggies out there that is not as obvious is eggplant.

I am not looking for specific diet or recipies but more so the principle and if anyone has found making their diet more alkaline producing has helped them lose weight and feel healthier....... emoticon
