Mmmm... sounds good.

I TRIED to check out a cookbook last night. I had seen in in a Barnes & Nobles email coupon. It was called Deceptively Delicious (I think) -- Sounded good and wanted to check it out, but when I went to B&N last night -- they said they were all out, that Opra had just featured that book on her show and the sales had skyrocketed. Oh, well.

Not so much grilling, though she does have a few recipes for veggies on the grill. Mostly it is for oven-roasting. I love roasted veggies as it seems to concentrate the flavor, plus, it's a super-easy way of cooking. Just cut whatever up, sauce it, spice it or toss it with whatever, spread it on a baking sheet, close the oven and not worry about it again until the buzzer rings. We're eating roasted veggies in some form or another at least 2-3 times a week at my house. Glad my DH loves them too!

One of my new favorites is "The Roasted Vegetable." I actually use the very basic info more than her actual recipes, though. I very rarely stick to recipes anyway. I'm one of those irritating people who can't seem to let well enough alone. My most used recipes are always the ones I have put together on my own.

That sounds really neat -- I'll have to check it out.

I'll try to remember to check the names of the more recent cook books that I have.

Vegetarian and More! (Rosensweig)

I saw this book while shopping while my sister was here, and borrowed from the library last night. I haven't cooked anything yet, but so far it looks very promising.

The premise of the book is to provide recipes for mixed veg*n/omni families. Almost all of the recipes are designed so that an animal product can be added to half of the recipe at the end. Two meals -- one veg, one not -- without twice the effort.

This is not a whole foods cookbook, but the premise is intriguing.

Hi!

I was going to post a book I just discovered, then I thought, let's all do it!

I'd like this to be a permanent, on-going thread where we can recommend cookbooks that help us on our paths.

Negative reviews welcome, too.

Flo
