Y'know, you may want to also consider other ways to use cabbage. I love finely chopped/shredded cabbage in my pocket bread sandwiches; quick steamed in stir fry (gotta keep some of that crunch!); as a filler for tacos or rollup types of sandwiches; but as a salad, I love making cabbage - usually nappa/chinese cabbage, and some regular green cabbage, finely shredded and mixed with pineapple chunks, shredded chicken or turkey breast (or poke - a raw fish side dish - so ONO!) some ramen noodles crumbled and quick dry sauteed, green onion, and a sauce of rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey (or some sugar or substitute) toss together and try to limit your portions ha ha ! I usually add a splash of srirachi sauce to mine, I love the heat.
