Today I ran/walked on the treadmill. I can "run" (let's just define running, when I do it, as a lumbering jog/trot, but definitely not walking, even if it is slower than most people walk) I can run 3 minutes now, not super easy but also not completely unpleasant. As I mentioned (maybe?) I'm following couch 2 5k but after a couple months I'm still on week 3 (it's supposed to be a 9 week program). But I decided it's better to just take my time and off I need to repeat a week (2 or 3 or 4 times) it's better than moving ahead when I'm not ready and getting discouraged and frustrated (or worse, injured). I did c25k a few years ago and loved how well it worked & ran a bunch of 5ks and a couple of 10ks and even a 15k so I'm really hoping to be able to get back to that level. I have my heart set on a 5k in June which was the first one I ever ran back in... 2010.

Today I walked to work which took about an hour (at galapagos tortoise pace). I really should do it more often but there's the whole issue of having to leave earlier and arriving at the office drenched in sweat (or frostbitten). The sad commentary on public transportation, even in this city, is that taking the train only shaves about 15 minutes off my commute.

Do I hear an echo? Um, let's see, yes, 45 minutes on the Precor crossfit whatever machine, yesterday I did the run/jog interval thing for the first time in a long time and it was shockingly easy but I spent the rest of the day feeling like my legs were made of lead so I was taking it a little easy today but it's hard to go easy on the legs without letting the cardio slip down to where I don't really feel like there's any point to it. For some reason I feel like I have to really be be sweating/breathing hard for it to "count,' I guess that's good because I am constantly challenging myself but... sometimes I get tired of being constantly challenged. emoticon

Trainer for 60 min., it was good but today we were on the free weight floor (I don't know what this is exactly but it's the floor where all the weights are - as opposed to the cardio machines or the nautilus machines - with all the big round weights and some machines which are more like just to help spot people when they're lifting weights - bad sign that I don't even have the vocabulary to describe these things) and that's where all the super-muscly guys (and some women) hang out and it's just kind of daunting to see my big squishy self with my 2.5 lb weights in the mirror surrounded by these carved-from-granite gods... but whatever.

I did the jog/walk intervals on the treadmill for 45 min. I am trying to get the duration of my "jogs" up to 3 minutes but having a tough time, which is aggravating. I did it once with no problem but now it seems like my body just starts to quit on me after 90 seconds or so. So I don't know if I'm trying to go too fast (doesn't feel fast at all lol) or if I'm just not ready or what. I guess I will hang back and aim for the 90 second intervals until they seem easy... not sure what else to do.

Blaaarrgh, I was planning to do my usual walk/jog interval routine on the treadmill but I just couldn't do the jogs, I felt like my body just quit on me. I'm blaming lack of sleep/too much work/cold weather/general work-related exaustion (I just have a desk job but I worked mad late last night, for me, and ended up eating dinner late, going to bed late, etc.). I still managed to walk for 45 minutes on the treadmill and a pace/incline that kept my heart rate up (i.e., a lot faster than I would usually walk) but it was just kind of a bummer to feel so drained.

Walked a half mile to the park, the mile loop around the park, and a half mile back. I passed the same guy twice (he was in the opposite direction) and both times as he passed me he said "They're saying it was self defense." The first time I assumed he was talking into a blue tooth ear thingy. The second time, nearly a half-mile later I was just like wtf?!?

Since it snowed in my area I couldn't walk, so I used my Lifestyler Fit and used light-weight 2-lb dumbbells for strength training.

60 min on the precor crossfit machine thingy, I think tennis is done for the season emoticon but the nice thing about the gym on Saturday afternoon (besides being indoors lol) is that it's pretty empty and I can take my time.

60 minutes of the run/jog thing (of which really only about 15 min is "running"). I don't usually do straight cardio for that long but I was kind of compensating for eating a ton yesterday plus the gym was very sparsely populated and unlike most days I had nowhere I needed to be so I figured I'd take advantage of the unusually leisurely day.

45 min on the crosstrainer/precor machine-thingy. I thought I would be totally gangster and be the only person at the gym on Thanksgiving... bwa ha ha, it was the most crowded I've ever seen it. I guess everyone is planning to burn off their dinner before they eat it.

Ha ha ha well keep in mind when I say "jog" it's more like a "lumbering trot," prolly not much faster than most people walk, but it's as close to running as I'm going to get any time soon.

Today was an hour with the trainer, as per the usual Mon/Wed routine. Today was really good cuz instead of looking at the clock thinking, omg has it really only been 15 minutes? I was actually surprised and a little disappointed when the hour was over.

The run/walk thing on the treadmill. I'm trying boost my "jogs" from 60 seconds to 90 seconds with 2 minutes of walking in between. I'm kind of loosely following the couch-to-5k program which I did a few years back and it really worked out well (I eventually did a 15K) but I wasn't in quite this bad condition when I started last time. So I'm taking it pretty slow (I was on "Week 1" for about 7 weeks...) but whatever. Slow and steady is not going to win the race in my case but it will at least keep me from hurting myself.

I am working my way up to a proper half hour workout. I did the 14 minute Bollywood cardio video plus a minute of calf-raises and push-ups to round it out to an even 15. I'm glad I didn't do that in a group setting because I'm pretty sure I danced like Two Wild and Crazy Guys.

Then I walked around for about 5 or 10 minutes to cool down because my heart was racing and my legs were wobbly.

40 min on the elliptical (I don't know if it's really an elliptical but there are a bunch of cardio machines at the gym that I don't know the proper name for - something between an arctrainer an and elliptical and a stepping-thing, I just call them all ellipticals)

Walking walking and walking for 30 minutes in spite of a splittering migraine. I agree... I try to sqeeze some exercise every day, enven though it has to be lighter or shorter. Too hard to restart...

an hour session with my trainer (light weights, movement, calisthenics, um, gym stuff, I guess)

Right now I have one rest day per week. Until I'm in a little better condition I feel like my body (joints especially) needs one day to recover from the other six days. Luckily (?) I cannot get through a day without having to walk at least a few blocks by necessity (no car) and going up some stairs (I live in a 4th floor walkup), so even on my "rest" days I'm not completely inert. Maybe as my joints etc. get stronger and a little more used to the action, I won't feel like I need a day off. I don't know exactly why, maybe because it's just one designated day, I don't feel tempted to skip an extra day - almost the opposite, where I feel like, omg I didn't go yesterday, that means I HAVE to go today! Also by design my rest day is Saturday or Sunday, so when Monday rolls around it's like, well time to go back to work = time to go back to the gym.

I walked on the treadmill at the gym for 45 min. I was hoping to do some sprint intervals (and by "sprint" I mean verrrrrry slow jogging) but I could only get through 4 which was kind of disappointing because usually I like to do 8 (1 minute "sprints") so instead of the very-slow-jogging I tried "sprints" of just fast (for me) walking so I feel like I salvaged it but at least I got to the gym and did something.
