so true Pam............ emoticon

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

We all have to find our way...no matter where we are going and we sometimes get lost...fact of life.

Just like we can be eating good and all of a sudden an urge hits us and we crave the things we should keep off of. I it isn't easy to break a habit...it takes time and patience. We didn't get in this shape in one day and won't get out of it that fast either.

I learned the hard way to stand up and face myself and everything there is along with it. It wasn't easy, but once I had done it for about 8 months, it was much easier to do. I take stock in myself daily, in all aspects of my life. That's why I'm so hands on now, and wanting to know everything that's going on with me spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally. God shows me and tells me most of the time what's what and also how He wants me to pursue, in any given situation. My total trust is in Him, and that's how I want it to always be. Now, I'm not a perfect person, and I do slip, and when I do, things happen that should not have happened, and I go back before God. It's not always easy as realizing it and going to Him, but it may take months before I realize what's happening and go back to Him. No, I haven't turned my back on Him, it's just that my listening ear, and spirit aren't in tune with His, at that particular time.

Be blessed,

Dr. Peekes book takes on many aspects of changing our lifestyle and looking it square in the face. I have only started to read it but it has a lot of ideas.
A quote in her book from J. Donald Walters--" You will find peace not by trying to escape your problems, but by confronting them courageously."

My thoughts:
How many times have you tried to just shove your problems under the rug and hope they vanish? I have done that so many times. I fool myself with giving it a hard first try and then slowing down when it gets tough. It is time to face myself honestly, with all my flaws and change the ones I don't like.
I have changed through the years from a quiet mouse to a pretending to have it together person. I don't have the answers and have tried many things...hoping that a magic solution will pop up. Don't get me wrong...I believe there is magic and miracles in the world but they won't do the work for you. Meditation will help ease stress..It will help calm your mind..but it won't take off the pounds and inches...You have to work those off, by eating right and movement. I am not saying be an adrenaline junkie but start and accomplish movement...then when comfortable with it...go a little more. You can do this and I know I can too.
