Here's a fun walking challenge for everyone. Pick a place you'd like to go to. It can be local, within Florida or out of state. Next, use a mapping site such as Google Maps or Mapquest to map the distance between your home and that place. Your challenge? To walk (or run!) that number of miles to meet your goal! You could even swim those miles if you'd like! For example, from my house to Disney World is 220.85 miles. Each day/week I can subtract the number of miles I walked (or ran) from that to see how long it will take me to walk to Disney! You could start small, then work your way up to places that are further away or just jump right in with someplace far away.
SP has the great fitness maps section that you can access from your My Fitness page so you can map where you walked if you were outside so you can figure out your miles walked/ran...if you're using a treadmill your distance should be right there on the screen for you.
You can join the challenge any time you'd like and update as often as you'd like. Whether you walk, run or swim, and whether you actually take a real trip to your destination once your done, I hope you'll join us on a journey around town, the state or even the USA!
