NOOOOOOOOO!! ROTFLOL!! Linda haven't you heard? Every girl under the age of 14 who saw that movie is singing that song!! No!! LOL!!

I think the movie looks adorable! We haven't seen it. We are too busy doing the potty dance every 90 minutes with our new puppy.

I have been doing some sorting and down-sizing and had the Muppet Movie on TV. I have loved the Muppets for about 35 years. I am a combo of Miss Piggy and Maxine. But I wanted to share this song...Rainbow Connection
emoticon www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSFLZ-MzIhM

and then this one! Fozzie is my favorite. I call my best friend, Roz, Rozzie Bear and she calls me Miss Piggy...and Movin' Right Along is the first song on our road trip tape that we put in when we are heading out...

I love the "turn left at the fork in the road" Someday I'm going to cut out a big fork and spray paint it silver and put it on the road!!

Both these songs bring a smile to my face and warm my old black heart!!

Yesterday was National Down Syndrome Day.
They made this song even better!
Yup I cried- My MS affects my emotions, I've gone from a "stiff upper lipper" to a crier. I was the oldest daughter of a Sarge in the Army, I was the son he never had, I wanted to be strong to make him proud. (it didn't work) So now I'm not ashamed to cry anymore!
I am the mom of 6 boys and 1 daughter with Down Syndrome.

Thanks! My dad passed way in 05 and my mom in 06. Mom loved to dance but dad, not so much. He had a injured ankle and foot from when he was a child, so that bothered him a lot. I never saw them dance together at home, but once in a while they would go out to dinner where there was music and she could get him out on the floor for some slow dances. But my mom loved to just dance around while she did stuff, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishes, what ever she found some way to move and grove a little. She said it cheered her up and made her day not so boring with all the house work.

My mom loved all kinds of music and it seemed like the stereo or radio was always on during the day time. My dad wasn't so much in to it though, he liked bluegrass and some country and western, but wasn't so much into all the rest of it. So when he was home it was more the TV that was on. During the weekends it just depended what was happening. If dad was out working in his garage or doing yard work than the music was on, but if he was in the house then it was usually the TV. Sometimes though mom would be working in the kitchen and she would still turn her radio on low while he was watching TV, or she would be out in the built in patio with her music or her own TV going. She liked, Nat, Frank and Sha-na-na, and Bread. Bread was one of my fav's, I had a lot of their 45's and still do. I also inherited some 8 tracks and a machine too that is also in my garage right now, waiting for me to figure out what to do with them. A lot of it will probably get sold later.

I've tossed all our LPs years ago.
My fave 8 track was Sha-na-na! (love Bowser!) I could only afford a few! I think Bread was my 2nd fave 8 track.

Thanks for the help with it, I should have known better. I know I have to click the add a link when I do my team's monthly challenge msgs. Just didn't notice or think about it for other types of msgs.

I am going on 54, so kind of feeling old myself, and I remember my mom playing that song all the time when I was young. She always played music and danced around while doing her house work. I might have even inherited that album? I got a bunch out in the garage that I didn't really look though that well, and there are more in my sister's storage unit that I need to get out and stash away in the garage too. One of these days I would like to get one of those machines that transfers records to CD's, DVD's, or computer files and get all of the old family records downloaded. I have my own collection, and now I have some of my mom's and sister's too. I also have a huge cassette collection. I have rock and roll, hard rock, heavy metal, country and western, opera, classical, blue grass, some rap and other stuff.

Here is Janette's link!! I just knew it was going to be "these boots" when it said Nancy S. My business partner in Boise, John, was in Viet Nam for Christmas and Nancy came over with the Bob Hope show and he got to be up on the stage and has the picture to prove that she kissed him. Says the birth of his son was the only better thing that ever happened to him in his life!!

And I bought my friend, Sunny, a great pink sweatshirt from the Quacker Factory (QVC gives their leftovers to the Goodwill)-and it says "These Boots are Made for Shoppin" because she is my retail therapy pal. She puts it on several nights a week for rattin around when she comes in from work and takes of her nice clothes. Nancy was great in her day!! Good choice Janette!!
(PS You just have to hit the "add a link" button at the top of the box and make sure that you don't have the http thingie in there twice and it will come up so all the others have to do is click on it. Took me about 25 practice tries before I figured it out so hope that helps?!

Eliz my Sweet-You really DO have too much time on your hands if you can dance to the MickeyD's filet-o-fish commercial but not to Tom Jones. I didn't like him AT ALL-my mom liked him and old "Engle burnt a hump on his dink" as my sister and I used to call him. So just sway to the music like these pussycats in the video and forget about the MickeyD's commercial.

I have waaaay too much time on my hands, so I was day dreaming about how I used to love Tom Jones, and his songs- like "What's New Pussycat". Oh my!! But you can't dance to that; well unless you are Tom Jones- emoticon

And then the new McDonalds Filet O Fish commercial came on- I find that this my new dance tune! LOL!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFlIbQ2iG1w
Someone must have video'd that from their TV. It's much better in HD- LOL!!

Well because marching into March reminds me of my favorite hymn- Marching into Zion, here's a few of my faves!

This first one is a favorite because I raised 6 children of color ages 13-23. And we loved a good gospel group!

Thanks for sharing. Not what I was looking for and could not find it again online although there were a bazillion places and pictures of hooping. The local Native Americans do those kind of hoop dances at all the regions pow-wows. It's interesting.

Thanks for sharing the ABC's of Friendship. I really liked it. Might have to copy and paste it in the comment section of lots of pages so you may see it again!!

Hula hoops are really fun. Go on you tube and search Street Strider to check out a more exotic machine that I use.

Also it just dawned on me that you ought to look up hoop dancers or hoop dancing. Kevin Locke is a current master that travels in the Dakotas.

I have been wanting to hula hoop since I saw the vlog here on SP when I first joined and was going to follow the instructions and make my own. Got the cheapie ones at Wally World a couple years ago for Mom and me and couldn't use them because, as I found out in online research, they need to be weighted if you aren't a small child?? So now they have the weighted ones on sale at WallyWorld and I'm going to get one...but just check this out...
Have to find another way to post it

Eliz--I have the fitbit one. No it is very easy to use and much more accurate than the SP tracker. It also does so much more than the SP tracker. It has a silent alarm that will wake you up without waking up your partner, not that I sleep with anyone. It has the sleep function, where it measures your sleep. It does this pretty accurately too, don't ask me how but it even knows when you are restless and in a deep sleep. You get a report in the morning. The SP tracker doesn't do that. It counts floors climb, the SP activity tracker does not do that. You can sync it to SP just like you can the SP tracker, and if you want it waterproof, buy the flex. I would have preferred the flex, since I swim alot but it was a gift and I had no choice.

I have a fitbit one. I heard a lot of member say that the SP tracker was not accurate in a lot of things. When I ruined my fitbit ultra by wearing it in the pool, I knew I wanted another fitbit. I investigated the SP tracker because it is supposedly waterproof, but heard a lot of dissatisfied customers. I received a fitbit one for my Christmas present and birthday present combined.

WHAT!!!! Who said Frankie is boring. I love his voice. From what you read in the magazines about him, I don't think he was boring. emoticon

I came here to say that I got my fitbit and danced with it for the first time today. I danced to R E S P E C T for over 4 minutes. I couldn't believe that I took 547 steps doing that dance. I am going to dance more often. I also got 4 minutes of very active minutes. emoticon I love my fitbit.

My mom's favorite love song. I saw this outfit he's wearing at Graceland in one of the cases. It's amazing what a small man he was...size-wise, I mean. I always thought his music and his movies were sappy but I suppose it's because my mom loved him so much.

I copied this from part of an email subscription newsletter I get daily from the Cleveland Clinic about the benefits to your brain...as well as your body about dancing!!
"Zumba, rumba or cha-cha your way to healthy aging. Your feet will be faster, and you’ll be smarter too!
Daily Dose
Dance is well regarded as a way to stay fit. But did you know that dance is also a great way to reduce stress, increase serotonin (a brain chemical that, among other functions, improves mood) and even boost brain function? How does dance make you smarter? It requires you to make quick decisions and integrates multiple brain functions — kinesthetic, rational, musical and emotional — all at once, to strengthen neural connections. Certain kinds of dance — those that require one partner to lead and one to follow — require constant decision making that’s good for the brain. And there are even more benefits if you’re the one dancing backward! Plus, dancing is social and fun. So what are you waiting for? Grab a partner and get out on the dance floor."
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I have to "dance" with the heavy bag at boxing club or with one of the dogs...so I'm still using the guy in the red sequin shorts as my regular dancing partner.
