Great to have you on the journey with us Shirley and Marchele. I'm off to walk against these strong winds. Wonder if I can count it as twice the distance since it will probably blow me back 2 steps for every one I take!!

Did my coffee walk this morning, walked to the hockey rink this afternoon and now am heading over to the city pool for some water walking. Had acupuncture on my knee so interested to see how that will help. Have physical therapy in Big Sandy tomorrow and need to get in some time on my stability ball and foam roller before then!

The best cure for stressing is to count your blessings...and a long walk won't hurt either!

Never give up what you want the MOST for what you want at the MOMENT!

Did a couple of slow but purposeful walk around the house twice for walking today. I am still a little tender. Also did some great stretches/some crunches/and lifted dumbbells...not too bad for a girls w/an injury right?

Shin splints - healed! Calf is still a little sore. Measuring all of today's walking by pedometer. It is Saturday - race day (night). My husband is our local stock car track chaplain and so we spend the evening (5pm - until it is over) walking in the pits and the grand stands visiting; praying with those who ask; and of course....watching the races :-) .

It is a lot of walking but I have my calf wrapped and some ibuprofen.... so it should be good.

Taking a few days off of walking. now in addition to my calf strain on. The right ( I was educated that only joints can be hyper extended), I now have shin splints on the left.....I look ridiculous walking and hurt really bad. Ice and elevation is my game tonight. emoticon

No worries, Jules. I know it's confusing. Sassy and I are going to try to come up with an easier way for people to figure out where they should be posting. Because only 3 threads will show at once lots of people don't know to look at the bottom of the forum box and hit that arrow to pull up the whole page. We talked about how to do it because we had individual weeks for Week 1-4 for 3 groups = 12 threads...so that's why she did Week 5-8 as a group and probably weeks 9-12 the same. We're a new group so we're all growing and learning together. Glad to have you with us...and thanks for just keeping coming back!!

Sorry about your calf muscle. All the aches and pains!! Bette Davis wasn't kidding when she said "Old age ain't for sissies!!"

Okay, so I discover where yo post...walk 30 minutes and now it seems I have hyper extended my right calf. Following the RICE theory...but taking it easy tonight, IMLOCOLINDA - please accept my apology for being too sensitive. Other teams have really let me down and today was a really bad day.

Jules, I think if I post here it should move it to the front page. You just had to look down at the bottom of that forum where the red box says "See More Topics" and then it would take you to the whole page of topics and you can search for your group-

3. Intermediate

and then the chose the week you are in. I don't want to discourage you from walking, I just want you to be in the week where those who are starting with you are walking. Thanks for you patience!

I've been trying to walk everyday for the last 3 weeks, as my Fastbreak goal that I've continued. I do so little, but I have been seeing some improvement. The time needed for the same distance has decreased and I feel stronger. I tried to increase the distance Monday, but it was too much so I've gone back to the original distance. Maybe next time.
what a great idea about listening and watching for things as we walk!
