I had heard that too, but began to track potassium on sparkpeople. My screening was fine, and am able to keep my potassium within range.

I'm still waiting until my potassium level is OK. I did read a cautionary comment on Also Salt which said to be careful if you are taking an Ace Inhibitor. I'm not, but that's what my doctor will have me take if my BP won't stay down.

I have been able to find AlsoSalt at Safeway. It's the only supermarket in my area that seems to carry it.

I'm going to order some "Also Salt", no sodium at all and high in potassium. I went to their web site and they'll ship the whole order for $1 shipping cost. It's sort of pricy but I think it will be worth it.

It will come, Donna; just remember that "patience is a virtue". LOL It's so hard, though. You are progressing and that's what's important. Start logging in your food and even without a lot of exercise, you'll be surprised at what you can lose. Hang in there, girl...things are looking up.

I've not seen "Amys" brand in any supermarket, but I'm going to speak to the managers, they are impressive in sodium content. I wonder about the price. Progresso does NOT impress me, their lower sodium is still not LOW. And Progresso was once my favorite soup....before high blood pressure, that is.
I need to get back to logging in my food, I've not done that in ages, and my weight is creeping up, and so is the circumferance of my ankles. I'm nearly finished with Physical Therapy, and can start back to the Y next week, but only for the treadmill and walking in the pool, no vigorous exercise and no swimming yet. But it will all come with time (she says hopefully).

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13
