A good start Linda. I find if you can get thru most of the day on the least calories, then if you're feeling flat and really need sustenance, then you have a fair amount of calories before you reach the 500. It's hard, but all the very best of luck with it.

Please let us know how you've got thru this today and report into the 'Rosette' forum and claim your Rosette for your fast day and yes, brag about it ... because you're worth it !!!!!

I figure today is a good day to try for 500 calories. I only slept 4 hours last night even though I was in bed for 10 (courtesy of Body Media) so I'm going to head back to bed here in a few.
I've had 100 calories of orange juice, 1 cup of coffee, and lots of water.

When I get back up it will be soup time........

I am also fasting. Made some peach oat bran bread, which I can't have until tomorrow. Also have half a peach pie on the counter, which I also am not having today. Compromising with having a peach with cinnamon and a tsp of brown sugar.

Last day of August and I am fasting today. So far I have had an egg and a chicken broth with psyllium. Planning to have steak for dinner, and go to bed if I get too tired. Do you get a bit cold when you are fasting? I am quite chilled at the moment so am resting with a throw on my legs, cosseting myself. Last rosette of the month coming up!

Heading for that rosette, if I start to weaken, it is off to bed for me. Ate a grilled steak, a tomato, and an apple. Haven,t counted the calories but not over 500 surely!

Spent most of the day tIdying my kitchen cupboards, somehow it didn't bother me being around all that food. I thought, "I can have sme of that tomorrow if I want it". Then I went grocery shopping and bought lots of supplies for making my most amazing smoothie for breakfast tomorrow, from the Spark people tropical smoothie recipe.
Ooooh, just one sleep and I can have some!

Hi everyone! My 2nd Fast 500 for this week. Going well so far... no worries.

Going to do the Pineapple Onion side dish and have with poached smoked cod. Yummo and very filling for 250 calories today!

A 9 calorie soup cube for snack this arvo, and 2 pieces of toast & vegemite for tea.

Woo Hoo! That leaves me about 90 calories to play around with ... hhmm, choices, choices. I shall have half an apple.

Hope anyone on their Special day is doing well!

I can't work our time differences out. I found Sparks had somehow changed my time to Japanese time zone .. bwah!

Well Fifi, good luck but don't know whether your today was Tuesday or is Wednesday - hope it's working for you whichever.

Wednesday for me: yes, Fast 500 and doing well so far. It is 2:15pm and have calorie tally for the day so far is only 275 .. so woo hoo! I think I'll make it today, barring visitors this arvo.

Thanks for making this space Mel. I like the idea that people will post under this topic on their fasting days, then we can all support & encourage each other. I am trying just to do one fast day, because I am trying just to maintain at the moment. But if I get the wobbles I do another fast day.
Except I don't want to be fasting on work days, if I can avoid it, because, uh, it can be HARD. We get pretty busy and we have to think laterally at my work, it is pretty much full on.
