I used to freak out hearing all sorts of stories. I used to have lower back issues. I couldn't stand next to the sink for than 10 min without resting my back. After I got tired of taking ibuprofen OTC I finally went. To my surprise, ok to my shock, all the chiropractor did was have me lay on the table and felt the area around my spine. There it was a punched nerve. It was actually a fun and painless experience. I forgot if it took couple of visits or 3 pr 4 cause I got greedy and also told him about my neck too. OMG! I was pain-free up to this day. I don't want to share everything because you'll know what to expect. Just wear comfortable clothes and relax. The more relaxed you are the easier for the doc to work with your back. Otherwise muscles get tight and body gets tense and you won't get the whole benefit you deserve.
emoticon emoticon
Oh check with your doc to make sure you should walk right away. They may request that you rest or take it easy for couple of days. I think. I forgot but I'd check anyway.

I'm ready to get back on track!! I have a chiro appointment Weds - hoping to get an adjustment. A little nervous b/c I've never been to a chiro before, but my back has been sore and I can see I'm "crooked". I'll challenge you for 5k for Weds!

So sorry to hear about your knees. I saw your post on the other team but couldn't reply back as I've been having problems with my laptop. I think I'll have to finally take it in for repairs and let the pros work it. It's just acting so old even though it's only less than year and a half. Lol. But I will get back to you soon on the other post.
Now it's great that you've managed to do the steps three days straight in this crazy weather. It's been poring all day yesterday that I didn't get a chance to sneak out of the house. Woke up to the same continuous rain this morning. The weather person promised the rain will lit up by afternoonish. I think I'll have to go hiking tomo as my body is gonna scream otherwise. The exercise videos is just not enough compared to outside walking.

I've averaged over 5,000 for the past 3 days, with over 8,000 yesterday (recumbent bike really helps rack up the steps). Today however, not only do I see I've gained a pound, but my knees are starting to get quite sore. This happened to me last year and derailed my program. So this time I'm going to be more cautious and baby my knees a bit today. It sucks, but I think it will pay off in the long term. Rest and ice today. Guess I'll make this a fasting (very low calorie) day. Sigh...

I may not be good at losing weight, but I'm damn good at finding it! That counts too...right?

4,092 for Monday and 5,013 for Tues. It was crazy busy time but got to visit old friends. So I wake up to rain today. Lol. It's going to be a rain all week off and on so let's see how it turns out. Just play it by each day and hour.

hehe I can picture you walking in place in the middle of the night to get steps in. I have to admit, I've done that too.
Took the dog yesterday again and managed 10535, but today I'm going to take it easy. I feel shin splints coming on from changing from treadmill to asphalt the past 2 days so I don't want to push my luck any further. I forget this happens - the dog meanders and I am more unsteady trying to keep him from bouncing into me! He also walks faster than I'm used to on the treadmill (in the beginning - by the end he's tired LOL)

Have a great day!!

Too excited and too relaxed at the same time. So couldn't help myself. As hubby's already asleep I took to walking in place while switching channels. Lol.

Final steps for today 6,537. After all it is a walking challenge. Hehe. And finally tired and ready for bed.

Note to myself (again) :: try not to have hot caffeinated drinks past 5pm. emoticon

Happy Sunday Spark Challengers! Hope you have a great day!
I took the dog for a 2 mi walk this morning :) Took him for 3 mi yesterday thanks to LovelyPampa's push. He behaved pretty well both days!

I only got to 9k steps yesterday; I'm hoping to get 7k steps in today - who's up for the challenge?

OMG! Me too! Haha emoticon
I really wanted to stop at about 7k. Then I pushed myself to do 7800 by late evening. After that it was a battle although tiny cause it was late after dinner. I kept muttering (of course jokingly every time..lol) why did I agree to 10k and at the same time (chooo-choo) I can do this. Lol. It was fun. I finished at 10,344 steps. I was watching tv with hubby and soon as I saw over 10k I was so relieved and satisfied. Then I sat down and watched more tv but started to get tired and went to bed early. So the last 2k was worth it to get my zzzzzs.

I'm not sure about our plans for this weekend. It's going to rain starting Wed again until weekend I assume. So we may want to enjoy the beautiful sun and go for day or weekend vacation and spend time with friends. Let's play it by ear. I think I can manage 7k but if our vac includes hiking (you never know..haha) then I may double it.

Wow...120 is a large dog. I used to have wolf huskies when I stayed home with my parents. Both brothers were about 110 to 125. That was many many years ago but those loving memories is as fresh as ever. I can totally relate. So make the dog tired and you'll both enjoy it.

Have a great weekend emoticon emoticon

Yay! more challengers! It really pushes me to do it :) got 10,004 yesterday - by the skin of my teeth!

Who's up for 10 today? I'm going to try - have a lot of housework/laundry to do today and dentist office just called to move my cleaning up a week bc they have a cancellation. It's a nice day today - I might attempt taking the dog for a long walk - he's not the best on a leash. And he's waaay overprotective of me when we see other people. Sometimes I can't control him very well and he's 120 lbs.

I'm in for 10k for today. And I agree weekends are hard. I love spending relaxing time with hubby and not do anything. Lol. He takes bootcamp classes and also walks and rides during the week and few times go on long hikes. I'm like a novice compared to his hikes. Haha.

So weekends are hard for me too. Let's do the best we can on the weekends and at the same time our feet will thank you too.

Hey Bren, I'm glad you're in but those icy grounds tho. Be careful. If you fall, please don't blurt out my name as you're falling. And then laugh afterwards.........you know what I mean.....

Happy Friday super walkers! Count me in on the 10k challenge for today...I've been in the 12k range...but today it's super icy (school is called off), so it's housework and treadmill....I'll only do it if it's a challenge...so luckily I popped in here today!!
Now to log off and get to steppin'!!!!!

I took the day off work yesterday to take DS to his road test (he passed - yippee!) got 2 mi in before i left and then went shopping while I was up in civilization - I was amazed to see over 10k when I got home!

I'm in on today's challenge, but I'm gonna shoot for 10k. I'm already at 6900.

I'm lovin' these challenges! Yesterday I did 8,031 only cause Iwannagoat dared me to do 5k. Then I couldn't help myself and got carried away. Lol.

I'm also in for the 7k challenge. Actually I wanna shopping so I may end up with a lot more. If I don't go shopping then I'm gonna still try to manage it more than 7k.

Thanks for volunteering to challenge me Jojo. It worked that day. Did 12,154 while no challenge for yesterday did only 6,175.
Awesome!!! emoticon
And we're done with rains until Sunday and next week on Wednesday. I assumed you guys also got rains too. Wow. It mostly hit northern and central valleys then. I'll send it on Sunday for sure

Using the fitbit, keeps me walking a bit longer even in the cold. Today when I came back from walking my dogs I couldn't even feel my legs. But I made it to 10,809 steps for the day Yippie!!.
