I am going to aim for 6,500 steps.
Except for a couple of days per week, I can't seem to be able to reach my previous 10,000 steps. Baby steps for me as of now! emoticon

well haven't gotten it every day, weekends seems to be my bad days..I'm a home body so tend to fall into normal routine with hubby which involves catching up on our tv series during the week that we miss and movies that we want to watch...gotta do better.

Jana, on the Fitness Tracker, under 'map your route' maybe you can calculate and approximate how many miles you walked and convert to steps. Hope this will be helpful.

5,124 steps today. That's better than I expected because I sit at a desk at work all day. I'm so glad I got this Fitbit! Today I used the iPhone app to check my progress throughout the day - it was a good reminder to get up and move around periodically.

Wasn't feeling well today. I only did 5,099 steps. I went to the doctor and was told I have an ear infection AND a sinus infection. I'll only be able to do whatever my normal daily walking is. No "extra" exercising for me for the next few days. emoticon

i did 14, 700 steps today! and i thank my daughter for that! she knows that i am "competing" with some of you sparkpeople, and she is like, "so... mom, how's your steps today?" and then we went for a walk! the great thing about it, is that it is always a "two-fer" i get my daughter or hubby or son walking with me (exercise for them and me), AND the quality time i get to spend with them! we talk about so many things that we don't usually talk about, so it is great,and such a blessing!

I got 8,349 steps in today. It was an unexpected busy day at work, so all of those steps happened in a dress and a pair of heels!!! The balls of my feet hurt so bad!!

Just did my 10,000 steps. Cool!

Lori, find your best time of the day to walk. Look forward to this opportunity even if you don't feel like walking. Then rest of the day will get easier for trying to reach your goal. For example my best time for walking is early in the morning or right before hubby's coming home. Just waiting for him to come home makes me want to walk faster so I can squeeze in as many steps as I can. I also try to do steps right before or during lunch time. And because of my Fitbit, I have until 11:59pm before it automatically resets to zero. I'm huffing-puffing (kind of..haha) to squeeze in as many steps to reach my goal or get in bonus steps after my goal as JOJOSLIVIN called them. I may not need to do this if I wear my Fitbit all day but I only wear it for my walking. I like late night walks (mostly indoors) after dinner as I usually don't get hungry for breakfast and tend to skip it. This way I'm hungry when I wake up and ready for breakfast.

8/13 Did 13,580 steps today...thought there would be no way I could keep up w/the 10,000 group...but I may have to check in with them from time to time...I attribute these high amounts to the setting up of my classroom...hoping I can keep it all up once the kiddos start!!

If you're stepping at the higher numbers and would love to be getting close to 10,000 steps, be proud and post on the 10,000 steps thread.
And if some days you're actually doing even better than 10,000 steps, please post away on the thread challenge.
Even better if you can post on both threads! Why? Very simple. You'll be more motivated because you're not posting on your regular challenge.

whew! i couldn't find this thread for a minute! (6,500 step club). i did 12,656 steps today! yup, it helps when i go to work, actually pretty easy. so, i am happy with the 12,000 steps BUT it is not the norm.

Hi team--day one with the pedometer. I've been very inactive lately. Today I was living on 2 hours sleep, so spent most of the day in bed...HOWEVER, I did get 5410 steps today. Here is my promise that tomorrow I will meet or exceed the 6,500!!!!
