That is one of my struggles every day to see the good in me that God does. As a comidian once said of all the x amounts of sperms we are the one that got through. God chose us for a reason. We are good and we need to see that good person in the mirror not the one WE don't like.
what if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday.
God is good, All the time and ALL the time God is good! Thank you for your encouraging response! We do need to remember that he says "we are worth it"! One of my recent prayers has been, "Lord, let your thoughts be my thoughts!" However, I think I need to be even more specific and pray, "Let me see myself and love myself the way that YOU love me!" We all need to learn to have HIS heart for ourselves and also to see us through His eyes... clean, pure and unblemished before Him.
God is great. The most important thing to remember though is if we are wonderful enough for God to love us, then there must be something special about us that makes it so. And if He can love us that much, shouldn't we love ourselves as much?
I know its hard to do. I struggle with this issue alot, but I am now to where I pray alot and after listening to Joyce Meyers Power of Simple Prayer.... I am gonna be a prayin fool!
Its only been less than 2 weeks since I confessed my addiction to food to a friend and I'm already finding relief and comfort in the Lord! Being hidden was never a good thing and I always knew it, however, our minds and our selfish nature tells us otherwise. We have ways of rationalizing our behavior. Thank you Lord, for lifting the veil over my eyes. I pray that we can all see ourselves as you see us: forgiven... beloved... adored!
