trapped wind = gas which isn't coming out either way and is therefore painful - we don't tend to use the term gas in UK

Churning tum, I'm not sure whether it is due to wind/gas or not. It's the feeling that my guts are trying to tie themselves in knots, caused, I think, by the intestinal muscles going into spasm, but not totally sure.

I prefer using natual remedies, but I find it is difficult working out when it is best to use them and when is the right time to go for conventional medicine/drugs. Can be difficult working out the right balance, sometimes. Don't like taking prescription medication if i can help it, often seem to wind up swapping one problem for another.

The flip side to the coin: "Nothing tastes as bad as healthy feels"

I have had the "CRUD" for 7 days now = coughing up green stuff, head congestion, sneezing, fever, body aches...

Instead of going to see a doctor, and coming home with a bag full of drugs that will cause my body to have adverse reactions, I turn to my stash of herbs and honey and cinnamon and make a blend of herbal tea that tastes pretty nasty! I strain out the herbs and allow it to cool, then add local raw honey and drink in large doses.

N-A-S-T-Y tastin' stuff!
But, nothing tastes as BAD as healthy feels! emoticon
So, instead of taking 3 weeks worth of drugs that will do more harm to my liver and kidneys, I will spent 2 weeks drinking herbal teas and be well.

THAT sounds like a plan to me...

I appreciate your prayers... emoticon

I went out to dinner last night at a local Mexican Restaurant - which serves nasty corn tortilla chips and some of the worst salsa I've ever tasted as an appetizer. The thing is, ordinarily I would resist eating that stuff, because I know how BAD it is for me....

For whatever reason, I did not resist and ate a small bowl of the salsa with a couple of handfuls of chips. YUCK!

I wish there was a rewind button...

Pineapple and I don't get along. I have an extreme bad reaction every time I get even a sip of pineapple flesh or juice in something I'm drinking or eating

I had heard of the terms: "Trapped wind and churning turn"
Is that a British term for "gas?" emoticon

Should be a no-brainer, yes...... so why do our brains struggle to grasp the concept????

The 2 foods I have discovered so far that don't work for me are grape juice and pineapple. The grape juice caused non-stop acid reflux and the pineapple gave me trapped wind and churning tum - think I won't be trying them again for some time

Have been surprised that I seem to be coping with cauliflower and cabbage, thought they might be a problem.

Just seen how much weight you've lost - well done!

I have noticed that many of my health issues are related to diet.

When I avoid "trigger foods" I avoid pain.

That should be a no-brainer, right? emoticon

Good, better, best, never let it rest, till your good is better and your better is BEST!"

To that I add, three are foods that maybe be deemed, "Good for you"
But that doesn't mean they are good for YOU or ME to eat.... emoticon
