Well, I work nights, so I eat 'breakfast' twice; when I got up this evening, I had noxplode before the gym, and a protein shake after. For my last meal in the morning before going to bed, it will be 1/2 c. plain nonfat yogurt, granola with flax, walnuts, and dried blueberries.

Well I made oatmeal with an apple, cinnamon, wheat germ, ground flaxseed and milk. Could only eat 2/3 ugh need to buy maple syrup really bad lol. Also made egg whites, yolk and salsa and couldn't eat all of it as I had eaten oatmeal first and my stomach was not happy. Much preferred cream of wheat with banana.

Puts the kibash on trying the cooler 1 diet doesn't it lol. But then in the first 2 days of eating Clean I lost 1.5 pounds and I seriously can't remember when I last weighed 114 - think I must have been 14 as my late teenage years I was always 118.

Maca Root--I'm just copying and pasting from websites here:
Chemically Maca root contains significant amounts of amino acids, carbohydrates, and minerals including calcium, phosphorous, zinc, magnesium, iron, as well as vitamins B1, B2, B12, C and E. Peruvian Maca also includes a number of glycosides.

Maca root is considered an adaptogen:
An adaptogen is a substance which raises the non-specific resistance in an organism.

Some benefits:
Anemia
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Menstrual irregularity
Menopause symptoms
Osteoporosis
Depression
Stomach cancer
Leukemia
HIV and AIDS
Tuberculosis
Enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH)
Impotence (also known as erectile dysfunction, or ED)

Adaptogens enable the body to enhance its power of resistance and adapt to external conditions.

They work with the body's natural rhythms to help rebuild weak immune systems, re-mineralize poorly nourished bodies, and increase energy and endurance.

This is what the proponents of the stuff say about maca root. Sounds good doesn't it? My personal reason for taking it is for menopause symptoms. I decided to try it out for a few months and see if I feel any different. We will see.

For breakfast this morning:
juiced veggies, mostly green leafy with a beet thrown in for sweetness.
A little later: Eggnog: raw milk, raw egg, maca powder, nutmeg, maple syrup

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Hey there, ya know there's another thread on the Clean Eats Recipes team called "What did you have for breakfast". Now I don't know which thread to post my breakfast on! Actually makes more sense to have it on this team.

Anyway, here's my breaky (for the 2nd time):
3 stage breakfast:
7:30 grapefruit and banana chunks
8:30 juice from fresh greens, carrots, celery, etc
9:30 Eggnog: Raw milk, raw egg, maca powder, maple syrup

I am eating alittle differently this morning...we'll see how it goes! I'll be grazing throughout the morning on banana, strawberries, small "cutie" orange, blueberries, plain greek yogurt, walnuts, almonds. For lunch I'm having salmon.

I normally start my morning with a protein drink but I'm thinking of having it in early afternoon. Just mixing things up a little. Wasn't sure if it was a good choice to start my day with.....any thoughts?

1 grapefruit followed a little later by some plain yogurt with raw buckwheat cereal mixed in and a little maple syrup drizzled over.

In case you wondered.

-Dr. Andrew Saul

My breakfast was not so clean today but usually I'll have a high-fiber cereal like Kashi Hearts cereal or Barbara's Bakery Puffins 'original' with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a hard boiled egg on the side and 2 cups of green tea.

sounds yummy! My stomach is testy in the am, so I have a small muffin for breakfast each morning. Then a couple hours later I eat something more substantial. Some oatmeal, a wrap, cereal with yogurt, etc.
