Thanks Annie, I just spent about two hours leaping from one article to another on that site. I joined the mailing list as well. I am an information junkie so much appreciated! I started with "Raw Divas" 7-day detox, and lost 10 pounds. I am now mostly Raw Vegan.
I completely believe that a good cleanse can be a life-saver for some at some times. It is particularly a good thing when starting a serious diet change. It can give you a great quickstart. It can also help to clear up certain common sicknesses. I do caution people about enemas as they can be dangerous. Check out Dr Kim's website to get more information on this. There are different cleansing techniques and each person needs to find the one that fits for them.
But to think you can use a cleanse to just help when your over-all diet is lousy then you are kidding yourself for sure. A clean, fresh, whole food diet is what we all need. A healthy cleanse can boost that but not undo the damage if you continue to eat poorly. See what Dr. Kim has to say:

Your body cleanses itself every day- it's called "normal function of the liver, kidneys, respiratory system, and bowels".
If you eat clean, you'll give your body all it needs to get any crap out of it (no pun intended) and be as healthy as possible. Just feed it natural foods and let it do it's natural thing! It knows what it's doing! :-)

Believe me, once you totally commit to eating clean, you will not need to do a cleanse. Your body will naturally take care of it. Way better on your body, I would bet...
I don't believe in "cleansing" which in the popular product sense just means using different types of laxatives to get rid of some extra waste (which will result in pretty immediate weight loss, which will come right back, anyway).
What makes you think you "need to cleanse"?
Honestly, eating clean is the best thing you can do for your body and there should be no reason to starve yourself, go on a short term liquid diet, eat only one type of food, or take laxatives or other "supplements" to "cleanse".

Need to cleanse. Never tried anything before so I'm looking to hear from any of you that may have some experience. Ideas, thoughts, warnings???
