Hi,

Actually yesterday I ended up just taking the cottage cheese and mixing it with the banana and a kiwi and eating it out of the bowl, but this morning a made a smoothie with lemon flavored yogurt, cottage cheese, frozen blueberries, ground flax seed and wheat germ. It was actually quite yummy emoticon Next time I won't use the yogurt (it had artificial sweetener so isn't clean), I'll use more cottage cheese and maybe add some lemon or other citrus juice.

Now you know...I've never thought to make a smoothie with cottage cheese, but I bet it would be good! Hey, let me know if you make it okay? I love trying new things! emoticon emoticon

I have a banana, some frozen berries, yogurt and cottage cheese - I could blend those togather into a smoothie.

Fruit always gives lots of energy so I would go with the fruit smoothie protein drink. I don't know if you'd like it, but I made one once with banana, strawberries and cantaloupe that was delish. Also if you have a juicer you could make a nice combo of 2 apples several carrots about 4-6 and a couple of stalks of celery for a really tasty juice that will give you long lasting energy as well. Best of luck!

What do you normally eat before you work out????

I usually eat 1/2 apple and some string cheese before I go out to run...since this is a walk you should be fine with whatever snack you normally would eat before a workout!!!

Hi Ya'll,

After work today I'll be walking my first 5K in over 15 years. It starts at 6PM which is about the time I usually eat dinner. I know I'll need to eat something before I start walking, but am not sure what or how much. I've brought leftover shrimp/whole wheat pasta and sauteed zucchini for lunch and I also have salad fixins and assorted fruit and cheese in the refrigerator here at work. I thing the only bread type thing I have are some whole wheat pita breads. Any suggestions?
(I've already had my serving of nuts for the day as my morning snack and it's not even 9:30 yet!)
