OK I admit it I fell off the wagon for the last 6 weeks. I feel like kicking myself. Anyhow I am starting over 4-1 and have been stocking up on clean foods all weekend. Any Tips on how to stay on track would be appreciated. Tina

April is going to be the month I really press into my eating clean. I will post again at the end of the month! I am doing some new things with my workouts and I want to do well with my eating, because I know the 2 will help me to really see changes in my body!

Lets see, it has been 3 months and for the most part it`s going really, really well. I still pack and carry my cooler with me to work and whenever we go out as a family. I eat my prepared foods, while everyone else is enjoying their Wendy`s or Pizza.

People at work sure take interest in what I`m packing in my cooler and always come over to see just what it is I`m eating. Most are totally fascinated by the fact that I have stuck with the clean eating so well. Of course it`s always when they are snacking on their potato chips, donuts, or candies! emoticon But, still, it`s a good sign that I can be some form of influence for them..even if it is in their far future! emoticon

I have allowed a few 'sweet treats' back into my food plan, though. For awhile I felt guilty about it..but not so much, anymore. Mostly it is just some tiny Tootsie Rolls or those little 3 Musketeer bars. On occasion, if I`m feeling the need to be real naughty, I might even have a whole one!! emoticon

Other than that, though, it`s all 'clean' sailing the rest of the way! emoticon

3 weeks of eating clean for me, but no weight loss. I do feel better, also I started weight training 2 days per week. I am hoping that maybe it's the reason my weight hasn't moved. I do cardio 4-5 times per week also.

Good Afternoon Ladies!!!

I joined this team and made a conscious decision to follow a clean eating plan on February 1st, I joined SP in May but it took me until February to make the commitment to really eat clean!!! I had eaten "pretty" clean for years but would always let the unhealthy eating slip back in when it became too much effort!!! After maintaining my weight at 145 for over two years, I found myself back at 175!!! My meals hadn't changed much but I got too comfy drinking Pepsi or having a nightly bag or two of peanut M and M (king sized of course)!!! I gained 30 lbs back in less than 9 months!!!

Now that I am 27 lbs below what I thought my goal weight should be, this time feels different...maybe it's just that I am older and wiser or maybe it is losing my mother to colon cancer this past July or maybe it is simply the inspiration and encouragement that SP was offered me, but whatever it was the turned the switch in my brain, I am forever grateful!!!

Thank you all for your wisdom, insight and willingness to share your experience in this way of eating...it has made a world of difference to me not only physically but emotionally and spiritually too!!!

I can't stop talking about how and what and when I eat and how much energy I have since starting to eat clean!!!

I wish my family and friends would join me but for now I am happy to have all of you sharing my journey!!! Oh and BTW, I'll be running my first 5K in April!!!

Jackie!!! emoticon

Isn't this great?

And best of all I bet you all can agree...at least those of us at it for awhile...

No more dieting! :) It's a healthy lifestyle based on common sense and natural healthy non processed foods.

:) YAH! emoticon

P.S. LROD, isn't it astounding...the benefits of skin alone?

It's almost embarrasing when you think about it. All we are doing is eating more of a balanced meal of fruits...veggies...and lean meats.

It's so simple. What took us so long??? :)

I am going on four months eating clean and working out and I feel amazing- I sleep like a rock I am full of energy and I love life and living more than I can ever remember.

I only have two pair of pants that 'fit' left and my 'new swimsuit' is a 14 and is falling off now - so all is good and right with my world! I have 4-5 months to go - and am so looking forward to the rest of this journey!

Just finishing up my second month of eating clean and working out.

First, I feel amazing...energy, sleep, mood, skin, mental clarity...it's so good! Second, I've lost 10 and three inches in my waist. Woo-hoo!

I'm still pinching myself that I've found what works for me. I've had a few days where I'm extra hungry but for the most part I'm very satisfied. Even my cheats are getting cleaner...LOL!

On to month 3! Let's go!

I have to admit that I have really been pressing in with this clean eating. I am actually starting to see the results with my weight! I am getting really excited about the progress. So, I will continue to keep pressing in. Now, I want to focus on planning my meals/menus! I really want to accomplish this in March! So, come on March, I'm ready for you!

I am back on top and feel great! I am handling social situations well and continue to pack my cooler full of stuff.

Over the weekend on a short trip, my Sweetheart said "why did you pack all these veggies, we'll never eat them" Well, guess what? After skiing all day we were starved and we scarfed them down!

In the past, it would have been fast food, fast ice cream, anything to beat hunger. So Woohoo!!

Today, may I make good decisions that create positive outcomes and may I have wonderful, loving people in my life to share this awesome journey with.

Day 1 for me. I read Tosca's book and it really made sense to me. The only concern that I have is that it sound's like SO MUCH FOOD! I've been struggling with my weight for so many years and I always thought that loosing weight = less food. So we'll see. Maybe that's what I've been doing wrong all these years eating less but low quality food. I am excited to try something new! emoticon

checking in:

Recently returned from vacation and am feeling very sluggish, out of sort, bloated and off track. Today, I will make veggie soup to get us through and tomorrow I will get to the gym and grocery store to start at square one. Also, I have sustained an injury and it is nagging me a little so I'll have to figure how to work around that and not use it as an excuse. I am committed to getting back to basics and taking care of me :)

Today, may I make good decisions that create positive outcomes and may I have wonderful, loving people in my life to share this awesome journey with.

I have to get more dedicated to my eating clean. I am doing my best for the remainder of this month to plan my meals and cook meals in order to avoid going out to eat. Additionally, I have to develop more discipline and diligence when it comes to eliminating my refined sugars. I know I feel better eating clean. So, my goal is to press in, because I want to see a change in my body in the upcoming months!

I have been working out for a year, and eating clean for a little over a month. It feels great. I had been eating "healthy" the whole time I was working out, but what I discovered is that Eating Clean is the only way to actually be healthy.
I feel a lot better and sleep better at night. I feel like my body gets what it needs now.

I started eating clean on December 25th, the first thing I noticed was my face started to clear up! I too was a fake sugar addict....no more! Other interesting changes so far: my teeth feel really clean (like they are just brushed!), my tummy is not bloated, I have a ton of energy, practically no PMS (TMI?) and someplace along the line I've lost 9lbs. I wanted a "cheat treat" really bad on Friday night, so I bought a bottle of wine. I took one sip and gave it to my husband! A cup of tea took it's place....so the next day my big cheat was an order of pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. Still love the cheesey goodness. emoticon

Take a minute and smile inside, it will change everthing around you!

What are we going to do to get you off the fake sugar, my dear?

It's poison, you know? :)

Have you tried Stevia? It's got the same FAKEY flavor that you love so much (ha ha)...but it's made from plants...it's not fake.

I just don't use sugar in my coffee. Cream makes me happy enough.

If it's super tasting coffee you can't go wrong with it anyway..

:)

It's really rather amazing, the difference in how I feel when eating clean. I just started again yesterday (after a minor Superbowl feast), and I already feel less bloated and just plain better. I'm probably at about 80 to 90% clean now - I have not given up my coffee with fake-sugar and FF half-and-half yet.

keystone, congrats to you!! A big high five!! Isn't amazing how changing our eating habits changes much more than just our waist lines!??!!? When I gave up caffeine I thought I would feel down, low energy etc.. but its just the opposite. I had so much more energy I felt ALIVE after getting off the stuff. I'm so glad to be no longer dependent on that stuff.

again congrats to you

I've been eating clean for four weeks now and I've lost 13lbs!!! YEA!!! I feel sooo much better and I'm sleeping better. I've always had a problem with insomnia but never thought that my diet had anything to do with it, but apparently it did. I'm trying to weight myself at four week intervals instead of everyday. emoticon

I don't know ANDASI, I am just eating everything in my house. Fortunately it is all pretty good stuff. I will try make sure I am getting enough fats...I inadvertently miss out on fats for some reason. I will sprinkle a little cheese on my egg whites in the morning, see if that helps.

I just want to fit into my clothes again. Is that too much to ask?!?

mix up the carb with a protein (ie., apples and peanut butter)

It's all over the board- it's filling and energetic...

It's also recommended by many other folks online and off. My cousin who is a former trained triathlete (top 3 in her age class) swears by this.

Completx carb with a protein.

If you are hungry and you are pretty much at goal- you need to re-evaluate your caloric intake. Sounds like you are at a stabilizing point in your journey.

Eating every two hours on the clock is not fun or doable for me.

But that's just me.

:)

Mom to 3, it really does just get better...
Line in Sand... my blood pressure is normal again as well. There is less bloat when I'm toxin free, too.I'm so glad to hear you are getting healthier!!! Give yourself a break but Friday's are a good night for eating a free meal. Just don't shock your system. Remember to have fun. :)

My moods have improved greatly when I'm nutritionally balanced.

Unfortunately, I cannot tolerate high sodium or high carb foods so much. My favorite chinese restaurant has to go...

Sometimes meat makes me nausiated too. Fortunately I love food so much that I have zero problem substituting meat :)

Just finished one month and I'm down 8 pounds! I feel great, in fact even my moods seemed to have evened out. Everything just fits better now. I ran into some friends from my daughter soccer team this afternoon and they just couldnt get over how good I looked. The girl said my face has really slimmed down and I just looked happy.... Its not even that I've lost the 8 pounds that i have been battling with for a few years, its just like I said my moods have seemed to just mellow out. I can't wait until I get into my 2nd month.

I have been eating clean since mid Jan, and have already lost about 4 lbs, which may not sound like a big deal but it is a HUGE deal to me since i have been struggling for so long and seeing No results and then just making these changes in Tosca's book and seeing a 4 lb result is just done so much for my motivation. I am pleased with it, and i have to say Tosca's book is easy to read and well worth the money i spent.

Checking in - Beginning month 2 of clean eating...

Reflecion - For the most part, January was a eat clean month, however, I had a couple of obstacles that got in the way so I wasnt always clean -- 1- a cruise to the Western Caribbean, and 2- I have been sick the past two weeks which has prevented me from exercising. Im still not feeling well, but I am going to push myself beginning today to "do something for fitness" for at least 30-minutes each day. As for clean eating, Im back on it! Im organized and I have a plan -- I will also track nutrition and fitness.

Whats changed? I went to the doc to have a bunch of tests and they have all been major improvements! Im no longer pre-diabetes, my blood pressure and all cardiac related tests are within normal range, my triglycerides dropped like 100 points, and my cholestrol is also coming down! Physically, Ive lost 6 lbs and lost inches (.5 Neck, .5 Waist, and 1.5 Hips) - Slow, but forever!

What will I do different this month? Last month I promised myself to eat clean, but when I purposely didnt I felt like it was happening too often and I didnt have any control. This month I am introducing "Freedom Eating Friday Nights" that I can induldge myself for one meal/dessert/whatever - and after that, back on it.

So, thats the plan - Will check in next month with "what happened!"

The best to all in February Eating Clean -- Meet with you at the finish line!

I have been eating clean for about a month and a half. I feel great but I have to be honest...for the past two weeks I am always hungry! I eat every one to two hours and never feel full. I am drinking a ton of water too. I just feel like my food is running through me!

I just want to fit into my clothes again. Is that too much to ask?!?

I am feeling wonderful. For a while I had major stomach pains, but I realized it was because of when I went off of the eating clean philosophies. I just moved to RI and have a whole foods right down the street from me, so it is pretty easy for me to stay on track. Now I just have to tailor my grocery budget. This is getting pricey!

The most important thing is i feel fantastic and am noticing suttle changes in my body more toning and definition even with the dessert never experienced this before. Not to mention the mental clarity, clear skin, energy, and over all well being.

I am having the similar beneficial effects occur. I was a lil off track... well waaaaay off track. And eating clean since Friday has been a major improvement overall towards my body. I do have more energy, I feel lighter, and my abs are starting to show again! Eating clean is the best way to go!

Hi Everyone :) I've been eating clean (as much as possbile) for the past three weeks and I am feeing great! I don't have moments when I am so hungry I eat anything, I have more energy when exercising and in the three weeks I've lost 4 pounds! I am down to the last few pounds and it had been taking forever to come off, but as soon as I changed my eating it just started happening!

Smiling just makes everyones day better :)

I started eating clean the beginning of December, little by little. Now I would say I am about 75% clean- working on that other 25%. I've noticed that my stomach is not as bloated anymore! That is HUGE for me. It is such a great feeling.

I"m at a little over a month.
1. I have always had paper-thin fingernails. They are actually stronger now... not a single fingernail is ripped so low that I have to wear a bandaid!(my old days)
2. I have much more energy. And I am WAY more focused.
3. My blood pressure has dropped so much that I got to drop one of my medications.
4. I fill up so much faster, therefore eat less.
5. I LOVE the food that I'm eating! I couldn't say that before!

1 month here

I feel fantastic. I LOVE eating again! I've lost 6 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks so not too bad. I expect to see better results when I add more exercise.

no headaches, no sugar withdrawls (yet) :)

I look forward to planning my meals and eating them. I'm excited about grocery shopping. now shopping for a family of 8 that sounds crazy but I have reduced my bill from $400 a week down to $150-$200 and i'm not kidding. I make my list by the recipes and off I go. I occasionally have to buy a bit extra for the kids to keep them happy but not much!

gotta love it

i'll check back next month!!

I've been eating clean for two weeks now and I actually feel great! I didn't think I would see such a difference so soon.

I feel awesome. When I eat well and exercise I sleep well and my skin looks great. The one thing I have to watch is whole grains. I cannot eat a lot of it because I have a hard time digesting grains. The good thing about eating clean is I don't have a problem with clean protein.

This was buried in the welcome forum and since it really has to do with how you are feeling good, bad....I thought I'd move it.

:)

Also, be sure to let us know how you feel after just a week or two. This is great stuff for other newbies to hear about! emoticon
