This is a challenge using the Daily Calorie Differential (DCD). You have now been online for a little over one month and you should be more familiar with the site. If you are experiencing difficulty in losing weight, check out the link below:

Knowing your Daily Calorie Differential can make all the difference in your weight loss. On this thread, just put down your numbers on a daily basis. If you're like me, I have a pad beside my computer where I insert all my information so if you don't have time to insert on a daily basis, do it when you have a bit more time.

Remember, to lose one pound, you need to burn 3500 calories (average of eating 500 calories less per day).

For your information, to get your Daily Calorie Differential, you need to go to MY TRACKERS above, scroll down to Report and here you will find this report. You do need to input your exercises done for the day and also have logged in all your food. SP makes this calculation for you. Spark People is great isn't it?

However, when I read the first link above regarding the inability of losing weight, something clicked in my head when it said that my numbers may not be right. I was eating right, I was exercising right, but my weight was so slow in coming down.

Therefore, I went about looking at my numbers more closely. Something was bothering me - my BMR was quite elevated for my age group (it was at 1619 on Spark People and upon calculating it I ended up with 1330! -- making it a difference of 289). And to add to the information, we need to recalculate our BMRs as we lose weight. If your weight is stagnant, I suggest the following:

1. Recalculate your BMR (and if it seems correct on the Spark People, then continue with their report)
2. Calculate your Daily Calorie Differential this way:
Calories eaten:
BMR: put your number here
Calories burnt:
(Add the BMR and Calories burnt and subtract your Calories eaten to get your Daily Calorie Differential.)
