Thanks for the idea... I hate wasting food and my hair could use a good conditioning!
I use the egg yolks for ice cream base. I make ice cream for my family all the time in the summer. I have been experimenting with low fat, low sugar recipes. The yolks work better for the ice cream base than whole eggs do.
On the flip side, when I have too many egg whites, I collect them and then make angle food cake. I have several recipes, including a chocolate one.

It really works!
I used to give them to my dog, but we generate more egg yolks than she can eat! So i feed them to my garbage disposal. used to feel guilty, but not any more. BTW, I love the idea of using them as a hair treatment. I will definitely try this idea.
I bake so I use them in muffins

I use 1 egg and 1 serving of egg whites. Makes a good size omlet.

Someone on another thread mentioned buying Egg Beaters egg whites. That works really well. No yolks to dispose of.

That is a great idea! I also have 2 puppies and egg yolks are great for their skin so I scramble them up and let them have them! What do I have? Two very happy puppies!
All those leftover egg yolks - the bacon-Swiss scramble (day 1) calls for 1 whole egg and 1 egg white, as do lots of other recipes. We don't want to waste the extra egg yolk! So...any creative ideas out there?
Here's mine: use them as a HAIR MASK. Take 1 - 6 egg yolks (depending on how long your hair is and how dry) and beat lightly. Put on your DRY hair. Cover with a shower cap and leave on about 20 minutes. Shampoo and lightly condition in COOL water. Hair will look and feel great.
