I want to have the energy to do things with my son and keep up with him.
I tend to do more exercise than what is suggested, but only because it is summer and I have time. I won't be able to do that once school starts. Cooking is definitely more difficult for me. I'm not very good at it and it takes a l-o-n-g time.

I'm down almost 2 pounds. I was hoping for better results, but I'm happy. I have not been able to follow the plan very closely, so I was surprised to see a loss. I'm going to try another 14 days starting next week. I think it will be even better.

I'm not much of a poster either, just a note to say this is working pretty well for me so far! I am trying to get more sleep as I was getting just 5 or 6 hours which ruins any healthy eating plan I try. This way of eating and exercising just makes perfect sense to me! Keep on going!
Get a move on!

I didn't find July 2nd on the board, only July 1st. Did I miss my weekly check in? Oh no. :( I am actually doing well, I am just not a boards/discussions person. I know it statistically helps blah-blah, but I am one of those people who are happier going it alone. Not statistics - just me. I am a bad sparkin' apple. :(

Day 8 - very successful in fitting in both cooking and fitness. I'm also getting closer to achieving my goal of getting 8 hours of sleep each night. I find that with the 8 hours of zzzz's, I function much better throughout the day. The numbers on the scale continue to drop little by little. And my pants are no longer tight fitting.

My motivation to lose weight includes not feeling like a hippocrite when I tell pts to lose weight. Practice what I preach. I went to make the orange miso dressing b/c I finally found Miso but my son drank the OJ so I just mixed up a dressing with spicy mustard and greek yogurt. Improvise! Enjoyed Zumba -- the class varies from 1 - 6. Today was 2 -- a real try hard who was new along with me and the teacher. Had to remember the Planet Fitness "no judgment zone" and just concentrate on me. Definitely sleeping well and even with a huge negative thing with my husband's work, mood not too bad. Endorphins?

My main motivation is to lose weight, to look and feel better, but I'd also like to be able to be more physically active without gasping for air! I've come a long way in the last 2 years, but I still have a long way to go. I know it's about making lifestyle changes, and getting right back on track after blowing it a bit, so I need to make small changes and stick to them. This challenge has done great at getting me back on track, and the support of the group is great, and reading everyone else's successes and struggles really helps, knowing I'm not alone in what I'm feeling or doing.
Here we go with Week 2 of the rest of our lives!

Today has been another challenging one for me. My son is still off though not "sick". The heat is killing me. 107 today, tomorrow 109. I'm trying to stay awake to get out early enough that I can get my stuff done before it gets sweltering. I've stayed in my calorie range though I'm still coming up short on proteins on a regular basis. I've been adding almond milk to my coffee for little boost.
I did want to say, Carmadab, You are here trying to make a difference, which is more than many people can say about anything in their lives. I commend you and send you lots of happy , healthy skinny thoughts :).
Why do we try so hard to be like everyone else, when we were born to be unique?

I chose to lose weight... so that I could live a healthier life... so far I'm down 112 pounds and must admit I feel pretty darn good, most of the time.. :) Still need to lose between 8-10 pounds, but I'm okay with that, hoping this challenge helps with that.
Today my exercise routine was way off kilter....but I did manage to get plenty of exercise, starting with playing with my grandchildren, deep cleaning both of their bedrooms, including moving furniture, washing walls, vacuuming, etc... and then going for a little walk... very tired tonight.
Diet... stayed within recommended ranges!!

My motivation is to get to a normal weight (again) so that I am not embarrased when I go into the doctor. My back has been giving me problems and I don't want to hear that it is because I am overweight. I want to feel better not be told it is my fault for gaining all this weight back. I think 1) I will feel better when I am lighter and 2) my doctor will be more sympathetic to my pain if I see her at a weight within my weight range.
I didn't have time to go shopping this past weekend and didn't have an english muffin for breakfast. Instead, I ate another serving of the mushroom gravy on a biscuit. For lunch I had leftovers since I had to take something easy to work. Then before dinner, my daughter came to take me shopping. I ended up eating much later with only more leftovers for my meal. I was still hungry and realized I hadn't had any fruit so I had a little which put me over my calorie count, but I felt better. I did log all my calories.
I also need this diet to work because my daughter is getting married - soon. I need to be there for her and get small enough to fit in a pretty dress.

Like many of the rest of you, my primary goal is health. I am not a kid anymore and the weight loss is harder, but I still managed to lose 4 pounds last week. That is astounding to me. I have not stuck to the book's food exactly. but I am sticking to the calories and whether they are carbs, fats or proteins. It is fairly amazing to me how little protein is in a few ounces of meat. Although I have a neck issue right now, I have been wearing the brace while I do the strength exercises and can do the cardio easily enough. I am a little more tired, and I don't know whether that is a result of the exercising, the cutting down of food or the neck pain. A combination I think. I have been hungry a few times (night time is my major weakness). I am still highly motivated to continue strong, and am hoping for at least another pound lost this week. Grandma BTW, reading all these posts is a real boost to my motivation. Thanks fellow sparkers.

Well I actually feel like I am back on track after a tough weekend.....a friend with cancer and my son in the hospital for depression. Normally I think I would have turned to junk or comfort food but I did not this time. My weekend was not perfect but I got through it and still managed to lose 3 lbs. first week. Today I got my act together and got my food and workout in line. Life is full of these ups and downs....the difference is how we choose to deal with them. This time I chose not to turn to food or hide within it. On to week 2....here I come!

This challenge is the first thing I have stuck with in a long time. I feel it has really given me the start I needed. I went to the Dr.'s today for a physical and I am right on the line of becoming diabetic. This is one more reason to continue to improve my habits. I have exercised daily since the challenge, and though I haven't followed the book recipes exactly, I am really doing better and better on my food choices. I know I am on my way to a better, happier, healthier life. Good night everyone.

As I enter week 2, I'm focusing on an important point of motivation. While this is a number on the scale, it's bigger than that number. I want to hit 157 which will be 120 pounds lost. It will be the point when I will determine if I can or want to lose more weight or if I'll go to maintenance. It's a number I desperately want to hit before I go to my next annual physical. I want to be a healthy BMI. My insurance requires health counseling for falling above healthy BMI and I want so bad not to require that counseling. It's been hard to stay focused because so many of the other goals-points of motivation have become a reality.

I want to gain strength and flexibility. I haven't been sticking to the book food, but I did cook a variation of the baked chicken. It was actually the first time I cooked since we started. I was exhausted from a loooonnnggg day at work and didn't want to do the prep time. I turned out delicious in my stone baker.
I am beyond exhausted and heading to bed.
My health isn't great, I was hoping this would have more of an impact on that, but at least I'm not hurting anything. I have a MRI on Wednesday to make sure my spinal tumor hasn't returned. It's so hard to pretend everything is normal.

I'll have to be honest. The main reason I am trying to lose weight it because I want to look better. My second reason is that I want to have a baby and I want to be as healthy as possible to do that. I also want to be able to run and play with my child when I do have one. I also want to run a marathon. At this point in my life it seems very outlandish but I saw a movie about a woman who competed in the Ironman Triathlon when I was about 10 or so. I have had a dream of competing in it in the back of my head since then but the voice in the front of head telling me I couldn't do it was stronger than the dream. I have decided to start small and my first goal is to run a 5k (run the whole thing, I've already walked one and I want to run one). After that is accomplished I will set my sights higher until I hopefully can do a triathlon.
I didn't take my measurements before we started the challenge. I took them a while back and they are for the most part the same. I have re-measured periodically and there was no change so I didn't see a need to redo my measurements immediately before the challenge. Besides that, noticing a difference in the way my clothes feel is more important to me than a tape measure.
I have be doing exactly what the book called for . I didn't do more or less. That is mainly due to time constraints. I hope to be Sparking it Up this week. I think I have a little more time in my schedule than I did last week.

I am ecstatic! This is my 2nd time doing the Spark Solution Challenge and I still lost 2.8 pounds! I stuck pretty much to the plan since the first time, but I think the extra accountability and checking in with Spark Coach every day really helps. My main goal is better health; lower BP, more stamina....I'd love to walk uphill without puffing all the way. I want to be around to see my grandkids grow up and healthy enough to participate in their lives instead of just observing them.
Keep Sparking, it works!

First day that we did eat at home, went to a BBq and there was a lot of food, but I did really well at portion control, stopped by the store on the way home to get stocked up for the week.
Hope you are all having a great day.

Okay, I did not specifically follow the plan today, BUT the solution did "Spark" me to cook a healthy meal instead of grabbing something processed. I was even inspired by solution ingredients. Boneless/skinless chicken, cumin/chili and bell peppers and tomatoes and salsa with a bit of guacamole in a whole wheat tortilla!
Dessert was some fresh cherries.
Thank you Spark Solution for inspiring me again to cook for myself and introducing new flavors!

Week 2! We're doing it!!! Congrats to all that have hung in there & stayed the course! You ROCK!!!
I've been trying to psych myself up to follow the book food plans, but I become so anxious over it & decided that I'm gonna keep it simple & try a recipe here & there...but otherwise, eat my simple meals as I prefer. I ate a healthy breakfast this morning & quick lunch (I play Mah Jongg on Mondays so lunch is on the fly)...& I made the slow cooker veggie lasagna for dinner. I loved it but hubby wasn't impressed. I substituted 5 oz. of ricotta cheese for the tofu & it turned out great! Yesterday's dinner was the panko fish (I used tilapia) & it was quite good! I'm always trying new healthy recipes for dinner & this book just gives me lots of ideas!
Exercise is always going to the Y & participating in some type of group activity. I love spin class & will do it 3-4 times a week. I do body sculpting 2-3 days a week & a circuit class & kettlebell class at least once a week! Also a cardio step class at least once a week!
I began my weight loss journey because I was diagnosed w/type II diabetes & was put on medication. There is a strong family history of diabetes in my family & I didn't want to end up the same way. I got my weight down after joining SP & got off the medication. I'm diet controlled now & my last Hemoglobin A1C was 5.3! Blood pressure & cholesterol numbers are all good! My doctor is very happy! I want to remain on course w/my labs & also get my weight down so I look as good as I feel!
Keep up the good work my fellow Sparkers!!!

My main goal is to be healthy for my son. My second goal is to complete a 5k with more running and less walking. I have a few bad habits that still need breaking, but I have decided those are starting today. I can't keep making excuses for my smoking habit, and just need to stop cold turkey. Hard to believe I find it easier to lose weight than I do to stop that. I don't smoke at home, in the car, or anywhere near him, but find I cave at work :(. Sadly, it isn't even the co-worker who guilts me into or anything, but my wanting one less thing to stress about handling. However, I know that by quitting I can quit stressing over the thought of cancer, emphysema, ucky skin, etc. I will state that today is my last day, and have more than just myself to be honest with :). Sorry guys, I'm sucking you into my accountability group because I know I need it. Feel free to message me on how I'm doing :).
I don't always hit the spark it up moments, but I don't fall back on to the make it work ones either. I am right in the middle, lol. I do try to squeeze in more exercise because I like the way it makes me feel!.

Hello Everyone! Wow! I love reading all of the positivity! I have had a pretty good week. For me, I am counting this as week 6 because this is my second time for the 4 week process. I know I have said this before, but I am so pleased with how hard I have been working and being able to see the results from that work. It is very rewarding. I lost 2lbs in the past week which puts me at a total of 17 since I began the Spark Solution,
Three years ago, me and my sign. other went to Hawaii where I bought this really cool t-shirt type shirt. Well, I was never comfortable wearing it b/c it is that sheer, clingy type material and I have a hang up about "letting my fat rolls show"---I am happy to report that I wore it out in public for the first time over the weekend!
I did have a little bit of a melt down over the weekend---it seems that all I have been doing the past 5 weeks is grocery shopping, cooking and obsessing about food. I had to take a break and go do something fun, so we went to a movie. I did eat popcorn, but a small with no butter. I am also thankful that I have been able to swim in my pool, now that Mother Nature was able to heat it up!
Another proud moment was when a co-worker asked me if I am dieting...I responded "No, I am changing my lifestyle." She has recently had some diabetic related health problems and has begun to eat properly. I was able to talk to her about the importance of portion control/measuring food, etc. It was cool to be able to Spread the Spark! She is going to look into buying the book! She also said, "Let's keep each other in check!" That was a good moment for me!
Well, enough about me...I hope you all continue to strive for your goals with great success!

The first week went great! I have seen a loss (2.2 lbs) but more so motivation to keep it up! I am really excited about the lifestyle changes that I am making!
I see my outside reasons for the loss- feeling greater, hopefully getting ready for starting a family, less stress, and just enjoying life better!
The exercise has gotten easier, but cooking/ meal times have been trickier. Since I have been eating earlier and getting hungrier more frequently.

Day 7 = starting of Week 2 and feeling great
Weight 297.5 = this is a loss of 6 pounds for Week 1
Blood Pressure 131 / 74
Feeling good - though it is far to hot out - it is 1;15 pm and is in the mid 90's - I enjoy the warm weather but this is to much - far to hot to be outside and we only have air conditioning in the bedroom - fans in the rest of the house - so spend time in the kitchen prepping meals and quickly go back to the bedroom for 15 minutes to cool down. In our small room that has the computer and a tv I have 2 fans and when sitting in the chair I get full benefit but should I move to the computer don't feel it as much
Weight wise I am pleased with Week 1 - down 6 pounds. My goal for the next 7 days is to lose 4 pounds as I would like to lose 10 pounds during the first 2 weeks of this plan - and then goal would be 2 pounds per week - but if I only lose 2 pounds will be happy.
Am enjoying the food, have found a few new recipes that I like - am finding that I am eating 2 different breakfasts that I enjoy so that is good - not good at a lot of different meals every day - am one of those that likes the same type of meals day in and day out - this morning I had the Scramble egg with cheese, spinach, celery, and green onion along with a small orange. For lunch will be having a blueberry and yogurt smoothie (making it with plan Greek yogurt and fresh blueberries) and supper will consist of grilled chicken and veggs that will be stir fried.
This is the week where I am going to put more focus on my exercise - with this heat it is going to be difficult but I will persist and do the walking for 10 minutes at a time until I get in 1 mile each day = that is the goal anyway
Everyone seems to be doing well - keep up the good work - lets all have a great week with us learning some new things and making some permanent lifestyle changes.
Have a good day everyone

Week 2 and pushing through. I am down 2 pounds and 6 overall inches and I haven't had any soda in over a week.
I love the recipes and am excited because I am doing this for me. Not to see the scale move (although that's nice) but to be healthy and able to play with my son. To not be "the fat mom" that the other kids make fun of and to be happy with who I am.
It is a challenge but it is worth it all.

Hi All from Los Angeles (we are having a heat wave . I lost 3.1 pounds !!! I never have this type of success. It is very motivating. My motivation is to get competely off of my high pressure medication. I am getting older (62 yrs old) and I don't want the quality of my life to go down because of my health. I also would like to build up my endurance and energy. I will continue this week following as closely as I can to the meal plans. I find it difficult to cook every evening after work on some days. I am happy to have leftovers.

My motivation is to stay strong and healthy and not have the same issues my mother now has, congestive heart failure/diabetes. I am keeping up with the exercise and as for the diet, I've been substituting and repeating some of the meals because as a single person I don't want to waste food.

I am healthy and I want to stay that way. I am also reaching an age where "use it or lose it" has new meaning. A combination of minor physical problems and motivation meant I did very little exercise for about 8 months. Yikes. I can't believe how much ground I've lost, especially in the areas of strength and flexibility. I've got to admit that appearance is a strong motivator for me.
Spark It Up or Make It Work? I guess I am simply making it work. I am trying to do 15-20 minutes of cardio every day, and strength training (my own version) on the days it shows up in the Spark Solution.
I definitely find it harder to fit in fitness. I enjoy cooking and it's been part of my daily life for many years, regardless of whether I am cooking gourmet style or cooking light. Fitness, on the other hand is a true challenge. I would like for it to become part of my daily life without scheduling it. The irony is that I enjoy physical movement -- be it swimming, yoga, hiking, dancing. It just feels as if it's hard to fit into my time. I know that's a perception problem. I am retired. My time is my own. I can do whatever i want to do (within reason!) I'm not sure why overcoming inertia is a problem.
But I'm working on it. Last week was the most consistent I have been with exercise in a very long time. Spark solution is just the structure I need.
As to how you could help? I think many of us who are beginners or starting over, need an exercise program where the starting point is "easier." I for one will not risk injury to do some of the exercises in the book. I find this is true of my Body Sculpting DVD as well. Fortunately I taught yoga for ten years, and I have a good (personal) library of fitness videos, so i can participate without actually doing the precise workouts.
P.S. Offering the 3 months of Spark Coach was a brilliant idea. That's a really, really helpful adjunct to the book.

Week 2, wow those 7 days sure flew by.
My motivation in wanting lose weight was wanting to be healthier. Type 2 diabetes and hypertension run in my families and so I wanted to try to head those two off with weight loss and healthier eating.
Today made Huevos Rancheros for breakfast (yum) and Trim Taco Salad for lunch (double yum). Dinner will be leftover Baked Macaroni and probably fresh fruit and yogurt. Will be getting home around 9 and I know I won't want to cook so once again leftovers to save my day. Did have a massive, uncontrollable PMS craving a few minutes ago and had a 1/2 cup of ice cream. First real craving I've had for something since beginning the challenge, so that's pretty good.
Walked to work and will walk home, so that's 2 x 2.2 mile walks for today's cardio.

My regular weigh-in day is Wednesday but hopped on the scale this morning as I was curious how week 1 of the program/challenge went - so thrilled to share that I lost 5.4lbs!! I know a lot is probably water weight but I'll take it, lol.
Week 2 is going to be a challenge for me as my birthday is on Thursday and my boyfriend & I are going away for a few days. Add to that I've got lunch & dinner out today as well as the meals on the road near the end of the week. I'm going to make the best choices I can and watch my portions. Also going to walk when I can while away.
My main goals, besides the lower number on the scale, is to keep up my good health. I've been blessed with good health despite my being overweight and I want to get my weight down as I'm turning 40 and don't want to start developing any health problems.

A new week and Day 8. I am truly enjoying this Challenge. I am finding that my in second Spark Solution Challenge I am still seeing things that I missed on my first time through.
I want to lose weight to improve my blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. But I also want to lose to prevent having another stroke. I had one back in 2008. Fortunately it was a very mild one that I do not seem to have any major side effects from. But I sure do not want to have another one!
So far I am able to stay on track with my eating. I have to give myself a pep talk some days to make me get in my exercise. But when it is over I feel much better.

Woke up early both days this weekend and walked the dog before it got too hot. I love the early morning walks - it's a refreshing way to start out the day. This morning I wanted to cut the walk short because my shin was hurting but I forced myself to go the full way and ended up walking an extra block.
Have a lot of food leftover from last week so I'm going to repeat some of the recipes before I hit the grocery store again. Happy July everyone!! Keep up the great work! It's so worth it!!

I am not following the plan 100% but am in range. I enjoyed the oatmeal with berries last week so had that for breakfast. Did not get to try the Greek meatball last week so made that for lunch. If I make again I think I will just brown the meat. Would be easier to put in the pita. I am down 1.5 and I feel lighter. I think the plan gives a good jump start and is adaptable as need be. Good luck for the 2nd week!

Did pretty good on week 1, lost 3 lbs and I've been doing my exercises and staying in my calorie range. I haven't been able to really follow the meal plan but I've gotten a few Still excited about the program and ready for week 2

Well, I wound up throwing out some of the berries and tomatoes that hadn't been eaten yet--they had gone moldy. So instead of a massive grocery shopping trek, I decided to spend the 2nd week eating leftovers instead of following the meal plans strictly. I will be trying the recipes and also the ones in the book that were not part of the two week program in the future. I am still going to be sticking with the calorie ranges and the exercise.
BTW, the Inside-Out burgers do very well re-heated, as does the Southwestern Chicken and Rice meal.

Hi all - I did very well last week but did not do much healthy eating or exercise over the weekend while travelling and camping. That being said I am still down 2 lbs for last week and my clothes are fitting much better. Loved the taco salad altho I modified the recipe by replcing the meat with chic peas. Did 10 of the 30 cardio minutes for the day so far.

We were up home on vacation all last week. My weight stayed the same...so that is a good thing. Starting on day 1 week 1 this week, and back at the gym. We both actually missed working out last week. That is new! Rainy here also, and very humid. We are both just looking to be healthier, so we can be active with the grandkids. Even more determined after spending time at the ER with hubby's mom while visiting.

Happy July! Well I'm down 3 lbs from last week, could have been better, but I'll take it! I stayed off the Pepsi all last week except for the one day that I took a couple of sips, don't miss it at all. I should try to do more of the exercises but my back is still bothering me. It's way to hot to go walking, I can't handle the heat. Well, here's to week 2.

July 1 - Week 2!
Q: Let's talk about your mind-set as we enter week 2. It's easy to focus on the aesthetics of weight loss or the number on the scale. Today, let's talk about the reasons you're losing weight that don't involve the scale, bathing-suit season, or pants sizes. Do you want to lower your blood pressure? Be able to run a mile without stopping? Fit into an airplane seat? What is your motivation?
A: My goal is to achieve a stable, lower blood pressure and glucose level, as well as to just plain feel better. Oh, and the airplane seat one - I hate how tight those things are on me! Another one, sitting in restaurant booths is also a tight fit :(
As for measuring progress, I put a full length mirror in my living room so that I can watch my form while I work out. In addition to watching my form, I am also seeing that my shape is changing. Very slight changes that others likely can't see, but it's enough to encourage me! I don't like using a tape measure, because I am so flabby that it's not really very reliable or accurate yet - it's too easy to pull it just a bit tighter or looser and skew the measurement. I have a couple items of clothing that provide a more accurate indication of my progress (or lack thereof).
Q: Spark It Up or Make It Work? We included these options for days when you want to do more or need to do less. Which of these options are you choosing more often?
A: When it comes to doing the exercises from the book, I make it work as well as I can. My fitness level isn't optimal for some of these postures, and my ankle is too fragile for others - but I do what I can. When I am choosing to do a different workout, I base that choice on how challenging it will be for me, and usually select one that I can do with few or no modifications, but will still get a good workout.
Q: Do you find it harder to fit in fitness or cooking?
A: Cooking is not difficult for me. I have cooked professionally in nearly all imaginable settings, from fine dining to production cook, so I am able to organize, time, and prepare foods easily.

Guess what, kids? I lost 2 pounds last week. Hooray!
July 1 new week. It's day 8 but I feel like a new start, it's a good feeling. I love coach Nicole's videos! I down loaded the spark recipes app on my I pad.
I love music!

Starting week 2, so far so good. I want to be healthier and lower my blood sugar. That is why I joined SP. I am enjoying trying new recipes and foods that I would not usually eat. For me time is the hardest. Having time for planning, reading, cooking, shopping, exercising, and posting is the hardest part.

Good morning on day 8. Started my day with a walk feeling good about that. Weekend not so good food wise need to work on those weekends. Big motivator for me to lose weight is staying healthy and ahead of any problems as I get older. Working on staying on track for the rest of the week and weekend!

I loved the Sweet & Creamy English Muffin and I'm very much looking forward to the Trim Taco Salad for lunch. I'm having a girls night tonight for dinner but we are all pretty calorie conscious so the meal should be a complete disaster.
I did not weight myself this morning, I haven't been doing great. My days go be very well but then at bed time I binge. It's getting better though. I'm definitely starting week one over again at the end of this challenge, I'm not ready to be dropped off on my own yet.
Congrats to everyone who saw a lose in Week 1, I did my first time through and I remember how rewarding that feels. Keep up the good work.

I weighed in this morning and for the first week I lost 5.2 pounds!! When I saw that number I put my hands up just like this:
I am very proud of myself for going the entire week eating healthy - a couple of slips but even those were with healthy food. No fast food, no pizza delivery, no 7/11 ice cream runs - that is huge for me.
I am also psyched up about my current fitness streak - 10 days in a row (that includes a rest day) - up from nothing at all - woot!
So, aside from the scale success I feel successful because I took care of myself and made healthy choices all week. I have more confidence that I can do this, I am happier with myself, and even though I'm not much smaller yet I feel more comfortable in my body.
On to week 2!!

Good morning. It's a rainy day here also. I'm ready to start day 2 and I know I will like the food for today because I made them a couple of weeks ago and tried them. I'm happy to say I'm down 1.8 lbs. and .2 lbs from my short term goal of 130. I've had that goal for 4 months now! Check out my blogs for the pictures of some of the food I made and see if it looks like the food you've made. I'm hoping to lose 2 more lbs. this week. Good luck to every one this week and remember that this does work if you stick with the plan.

Starting week 2 of the challenge!! So far, I've lost 2 pounds. I've tried lots of new recipes, learned the importance of PLANNED snacks and meals. Knowing what i'm going to eat next seems to decrease the random thoughts of food and makes me less susceptible to food suggestions that permeate the media.
I'm looking forward to another great week!

Good (rainy) morning! I got out this morning for a brief walk with the dog and just after I dropped him off it started pouring. So - off to the basement where I did some video strength workouts with Coach Nicole. I'm feeling pretty good, but haven't stepped on the scale yet. I'll do that in a little bit.
As for non-weight related goals, I'd have to say increasing the time/quality of my sleep and lowering my BP are two. Unfortunately, in the last week, my sleep quality has suffered. I wear a FitBit Flex, and last night, although I spent 7 hours and 50 minutes in bed - I only slept 3 hours. Not good. Have a lot weighing on my mind!
Have a great day everyone!

Whew! After a huge weekend of clowning around--7 hours--I am glad to have a day all to myself! So far I have lost 2 pounds and several inches. I haven't measured yet, but I can tell because my clown pants are way too big. I had to put a safety pin in the waist to hold them up! (I'm not one of those clowns who drops their drawers, apparently LOL)
But the best thing about this Spark Solution: I seem to have more "Won't Power." Because I tracked and packed healthy meals and snacks all weekend I was able to resist stopping in for fast food. Yay me!
Happy July, everyone! Keep Sparking!

Good morning all - hope everything is going well. Iím delighted to find Iíve lost 4 pounds and an inch off my my waist and hips. So all the effort from both Spark and my own attempts have borne fruit. The support and inspiration on the boards have been great too as always. In fact that knowledge is what prompted me to join the Challenge. Better fitting clothes are obviously good but more stamina and flexibility have always been an aim for me here because I want to be active for my grandchildren. Cooking food Ė and I love all the SP recipes Iíve tried Ė is never a problem. Iíve never really been interested in any sort of junk food but cook everything from scratch. Exercise on the other hand has always been something I find hard to get down to regularly. In some magic way the encouragement from both this challenge and Spark Coach have combined to make me glimpse a time when I actually might miss not doing it because I like the way it makes me feel now. THAT is a huge victory! The other great thing is NEAT! If Iím honest I donít make a meal of it Ė just keep a running mental note of what Iím doing and if I havenít been active for a while I get up and find something to do Ė however long or short. Anything that 'gets me to my feet' as was said somewhere. A new concept that I KNOW will stay with me. So Ė at the moment Iím happy with my progress - not especially on the weight loss front but more in a change of attitude. Canít think right now what else I could ask for. Have a good week everyone
