Well for me it's not really "running" so much as "wogging" ( walking and jogging) lol. I have severe arthritis in both knees and feet due to a car accident 20 years ago as well as a floating kneecap on the left side so running more,than a minute at a time is out. So maybe you are not gonna be a runner in the classical sense, do,ent mean you shouldn't enter a 5k and enjoy being out there with a group of other people at various levels of ability. There are super fast computers, casual walkers chatting to their friends, moms with strollers or young children and the 80 years old lady who passed me on my first run. Big people, super lean people, very young, very old and everyone in between.
Don't ever think you have to be a certain type to do this. This run will be my 11th in 2 years and I have yet to break the 15 minute mile! I go to be able to keep a promise to myself . As I like to say, "I'm a COMPLETER, not a Competer"

I would love to do this.....but I tried running for three days in a row( I am not used to running) That was 2 weeks ago and my ankle is STILL swollen with achillies tendonitis! I was doing stretches warm ups the whole 9! How do people run! I would love to be able to do this without swelling up. Anyone have any suggestions? I am icing now and elevating.

Anyone already signed up for this please speak up, I would love to hear from you. Anyone else interested in joining me and a co worker for this. She is a runner and will be waaaaay ahead of me as this is my FIRST EVER 5k.
I have already warned her that I will be WALKING most of this with short bursts go JOGGING, but I am determined to FINISH. And for me that is the important part of this CHALLANGE .
I Am 52' 50 lbs over weight and thanks to a car accident 25 years ago , have limited flexibility in my knees and arthritis to boot.
I have still signed up and want to encourage others to join main June for a lovely walk/run this June.
