Glad everything is in order now!

You may have fluctuations in your female hormones now that you are 52 that will effect your cycles.

Blood tests are great but they do have their limitations.

They only tell you whats in your blood at the time of the test.

If you're in perimenpause or close to it, those hormones can be fine one moment and not so the next. So if your blood is drawn when things are peachy...

Interesting...I only spot but I always thought it was b/c of my birth control. Wonder if when I get my IUD removed if it was my thyroid instead.

Oh WOW.... I didn't even realize something like that could happen! Did you have any symptoms prior to your period stopping?

When I was 38 - which was 8 years ago - (and not yet diagnosed with Hypo - but weight gain had started), I had my last period..and never had another one. I've been told that it can happen. Because I was so young, my doctor called it complete ovarian failure. I can only wonder if it was just my thyroid.

...not that I really care, but I think that's the reason why I'm bloated beyond reason and my "girls" are just much too tender.

I had my thyroid removed on June 4th and my last period was on May 14th. So going into September I'll be almost three months late. Nope...NOT PREGNANT!

I saw my OB/GYN on Tuesday who did a blood test to determine if I'm in perimenopause (cause after all I AM 52 and at the right age for it emoticon ) and the blood tests determined that I am not.

So that leaves the question, oh where, oh where, has my period gone? I suppose my now lack of thyroid is to blame?
