Well that doesn't seem fair at all! I've been on Synthroid since the late 1970's when I was a kid and I got squat!!! If I'm going to end up getting a check for $10 or some other rediculous amount, I'm not even going to waste my time looking into this. Thanks everyone. Denise

Had a surgery in July. The weight has been creeping up on me since then. Think I was nervous about exercising. Not an excuse. Seriously was worried about damaging myself. Lost 100lbs back in 2009....20lbs back in past 3 1/2 months. Gotta get active....

The reason for the decrease in money we received is lawyer, etc fees are taking out of settlement first, and remainder divided by number of people that submitted claim.

Been involved involved in many class actions and always received less compensation then promised.

That would list the number to call. You had to have been on the med long term to get any payment. The payments were $111 if you were on the med since 1990 to the lawsuit and $74 if you were on the med from 1995 to the lawsuit. Even tho I'd been on it since 1982 I got the smaller amount and couldn't get any response on why. The reason for the lawsuit? They charged a premium price claiming synthroid worked better than any other synthetic. Their own research proved it was identical in performance. When they found that out....they hired another study and tried to bury the results of the first one. Word leaked out and thus the suit.

Wow, how interesting. I was on synthroid for about 3 months during which time am hair got really thin, almost like chemo, I bloated and my skin got paper thin and I was very lethargic. I guess I could have collected money but had never heard of the lawsuit. all my doctor said was that my body would not accept the synthetic and put me back on the dessicated thyroid and it cleared up the condition. I am still on the desiccated and probably will be for the rest of my life because Iwas started around age 11 or 12. Oh well, I will not cry over spilt milk becasue it was a long time ago, but now I think I know why it did not work. emoticon

I am following Dr Esselstyn's book to Reverse Heart Disease.
My goal is to get one pound slimmer every week until I reach 140, and then stay there forever, healthy.

I notice that my weight always comes up as Kg but believe me, I never weighed 210 Kg LOL It should be reading pounds (that is what my scale says), and I cannot seem to change it so wanted you to know. LOL

Thanks everyone! I knew I wasn't going crazy. I remembered mailing the information in but I never received anything back. Not even a measly $111. That's a bummer. I'm too tired now but I'll look into it some more tomorrow. If any of you have an address or other link about where the class action took place, could you send me the info although I'm sure it's too late now. Maybe its because I moved around a lot. Either way, I stink at finding things on the web so any help please otherwise I'll just obsess about it. Thanks. Denise

Settled in 2000. When I got my payment it was the incorrect amount but ya try to get the correct $$.....wasn't going to happen. Seems many of us only got the lesser amount.

But I don't file out SS number on any papers saying they heard I was taken or involed with if they have a phone number I call which I did on the law suit and I know it was for real and was glad to try and get money back... as you look on the internet see if there is a phone number

I have never heard about it but I did google it and there is info. You should google synthroid lawsuit and read about it. I believe since it settled in 200 it is probably to late but the settlement would have been about $111 for you.

I was curious, about 5-6 years ago, I received this letter from the commonwealth of 'somewhere' saying there was a lawsuit against Synthroid for 'something or other' and anyone who had been taking the drug in 1990 or before should fill out the paperwork to be part of the claim. I remember it was all official and it didn't ask for any personal stuff like your SS. Just your name and doctor. How long you had been taking Synthroid. Anyway, to the point. I came across a piece of paper which mentioned the lawsuit and to be honest, I had completely forgot about it. Does anyone else remember this or get the lawsuit paperwork in the mail? I've been on Synthroid for over 30 years so was expecting a good chunk of dough if they had done something wrong. Denise
