BONNIEMARGAY,
Can you recommend a way to learn belly dancing? I can't afford classes. The Y has a sliding scale, but it's still too much and they only have one class weekly. I'm looking a way to learn it on my own.

Walking, playing with the grand kids, doing yard work (trimming shrubs, the ever-present weeding, and moving furniture in the house.

My Fitbit results:

8937 steps (too low!)

11 flights of stairs

3.55 miles (too few steps and short legs = too few miles)

1951 calories burned

I walked on the beach for 2.39 miles with my grand kids. We went early to see the sun rise.

10:25 pm my Fitbit says:

10,402 steps

14 flights of stairs

4.14 miles

1,740 calories burned


Also did arm strength with 5 pound weights, leg strength.

Before bed: abs

The gym I attend is closed for the long weekend for yearly renovation.
But the GOOD thing is where I work we have a wonderful gym there in the therapy department ................. so I did lots of cardio, weight machines, elliptical and floor stretching.

Grateful I could exercise my way through a panic attack last night: walking and Pilates and yoga really helps burn off that flood of fight-or-flight stress hormones.

Also, after half a year of working on push ups and incline body weight rows, I tried a pull up on my friend's padded doorway pull up bars last night, and made it halfway up! I really am halfway through my fitness goal of a pull up this year! Woohoo!

Today is more biking, dancing, walking, washing the pup, stretching, strength training.

So grateful for a deep tissue massage last night to help me through a very anxious weekend. Blessed with the health and mobility to start with an hour of Pilates and 15 minutes of booty-building exercises this morning. Plan on push ups, exercise bike, walking the pup, incline body weight rows, and lots of house work today. Maybe I'll leave time for gentle stretching at the end of the day. Whew!

So grateful I spent SO much time cleaning the house yesterday, because the in laws are unexpectedly dropping by for brunch. I'll make time for riding the exercise bike and doing my push ups before we wash the dog in Coronado today, then we will have our extra long walk around the ferry landing, with incline body weight rows at the fitness stations in the park.

Woke up yesterday feeling really sore and depressed, so I decided to skip my half hour of Pilates in the morning. Once the ibuprofen kicked in, I tried Coach Nicole's Cardio Blast DVD for the first time. It was nice to switch things up. Kept it slow and low resistance for my half hour on the exercise bike, and kept our walk at the beach slow, too. Stuck with my daily push ups goal, and still managed to pay attention to what my body was telling me: SLOW DOWN!
