Mango is my favorite fruit. I think I have had consistency in this diet thanks to that wonderful Phase 1 and its mangoes!

Paula,
During the firsy week I used to have headaches every first day of each phase. I think it's just the toxins and sugar/caffeine, etc cravings.
Drink a lot of water!

On day two of phase one and I do enjoy the carb days. DH and I use to do atkins so sick of low carb diets, but love how I can have all these healthy carbs and it also encourages my fruit intake which I must admits lacks usually.

Paula~ Don't get discouraged it does get better. When you are going through withdrawls it can take up to 4 days to get your energy back. I really enjoy quionoa soup with chicken, and roasted chicken on brown rice with tomato slices. Since we can have spelt bread I take advantage of that on these carb days and make french toast, with egg whites and stevia. I do not like syrup on my french toast so I do not miss it.

Week 2, phase 1. I like this phase too, and have lost weight on it both weeks. I know this is supposed to be the phase that convinces the body that everything is okay and all that, but I really feel as though phase 3 does that (no weight loss, just plenty of everything). Loving the fruit now that more are in season. Today I switched the snack and breakfast, just had fruit quickly on my way out the door and will have the fruit and grain at around 10 or so. Have a great week everyone!

I find I like Phase 1 the best as well! But I do miss my Almond Milk.

I have watched Haylie's Spreecast videos (link from her weekly blogs) and she talks about what her and her family eat which is a whole host of things and doesn't sound like she is eating any specific phase. I have heard people speak of Phase 4, whatever that is. But she does talk about going back to one week of phases after travelling or putting on a few lbs. So it sounds like you can eat normally as long as you continue to eat healthy and stay away from processed foods, etc. Then utilize the phases to keep you on track.

XOXOXO

I think we have all mad mistakes eating the wrong food at least once. Last Sunday I ate pineapple and shouldn't have. It IS very thought intensive and labor intensive as well. That really helps me...I am NOT going to cheat at all because I am so vested in this with all the food, money and work I've put into it. I tend to eat the same things over and over because I am such a picky eater so its a bit easier for me in that sense. I am week 2 phase 2. I can feel I am losing weight but have not weighed myself...I get discouraged too fast for that.

I am on Day 2 and still have the caffeine headache, afternoon slump from the carb-filled morning, cooking my tushy off and feel like I have to stop every 15 minutes to eat! LOL! What a problem to have huh? Those 3-4 hours go by so fast! I'm not at all hungry and it takes me quite a while to get it all in. I ate asparagus yesterday to find out that it's not allowed on Ph1.

Your burger sounds yummy! I made the homemade ketchup and it's really not bad at all! I put it in a Heinz ketchup jar so nobody knows. I'm missing my salad dressing though. Can't wait for Ph3 when I can add Evoo. I made the Lemon dressing with egg whites and it's ok.

So much to get used to. I can see where a lot of people will drop out because it's quite labor intensive and a lot to remember. For me, it's not so bad as I have been grain free, organic, free-range, grass-fed etc. for about two years now. It takes effort to find local sources for all that healthy stuff! I go in the grocery stores now and feel sick to realize I ate that crap for so many years of my life.

On to Phase 2 !

XOXOXO

It can be a little challenging in the beginning, but you will get the hang of it. Just keep your food list and meal maps handy for each phase.

I'm back here again...

Cycle 2, Week 2, Phase 1, Day 1

so far so good. I hope to really drop some poundage this week!

Last night for dinner I made a burger and fries! I used extra lean ground beef, an Ezekiel bun and sweet potatoes thin sliced and baked. Used mustard on my burger with onions and romaine... and lightly salted the taters. I was like... this is diet food? :) Covered my grain, protein and veggie requirements nicely... although I think the bun probably would have counted as 2 servings of grain. I'm going to have this again... but will use half the bun most likely.

Tonight turkey chili!

Cycle 2 Week 1 Phase 1 Days 1 & 2

I was happy to get back on here. I took a week "off" didn't to horrible for the most part, but the Easter weekend I really ate with abandon. :/

I'm paying for it.

I made it through these first two days no problems.

I still have not tried the strawberry French toast. I need to!

I'll have to try the strawberry French toast sometime. :)

My weight fluctuates a lot from phase to phase. I tend to be the lowest on the morning after both days of phase 2 and after all 3 days of phase 3, however the weight will go up and down in between. :/

Week 4 Days 1 & 2

having the same thing both days with fruit variations. makes it easy for me.
b- oatmeal and fruit, l- tuna, salad greens, fruit & slice of sprouted grain bread, d- turkey chili from her diet book recipe, s- fruit.

Week 2 Day 1

I only lost 0.5 pounds during the first week. emoticon I was down 5 pounds at the end of Phase 1 of Week 1 but somehow gained it all back except for the 0.5 pounds. I'm pretty disappointed but I've committed to the whole 28 days and that's what I'll do regardless.

For breakfast today I had the strawberry french toast.

Week 2 Phase 1 Days 1 & 2

The first week was tuff. Figuring out what I can and can't eat, making sure I'm eating the right amounts as well as the right foods at the right times... it was a bit confusing, but I hung in there, figured it out as I went and ended up with 12 lbs. lost at the end of the first week. That rocks.

So here I am beginning week 2....

Days 1 and 2 will be basically the same, maybe I'll change up the fruits is all.
Breakfast: blueberries in oatmeal
Lunch: tuna, spring mix, frozen mixed fruits (all phase 1 appropriate), 2 rice cakes, an apple
Dinner: a serving of Haylie's turkey chili recipe from the FMD book
Snacks: an apple and a cup of frozen mangoes.

Day 1 Phase 1 for me today.

I had oatmeal with berries, and I am not much on breakfast that soon after waking... but I did it. Snack was mangos, Lunch will be tuna, spring mix, rice cakes & cuties... supper plans were thwarted do to not being able to find ingredients at my store. I read labels, so much "health food" still has added sugar and soy.

Day 2 went well, also. breakfast was oatmeal and peaches, lunch was spring mix, tuna, strawberries and rice cake, dinner was turkey burger, oatmeal, spinach, snacks were cuties and an apple.

Great attitude! Hope you are feeling better today. I'm worried that I'm coming down with something myself. I hate it because I'm doing all the cookkng and snack packing for my husband too. I'm afraid of we get off track this soon we won't get back to it. This is the first time my husband has agreed to try something like this.

From 2-19-14 to 2-26-14 I was down 3.6. As of this morning I was up a little bit, but not too worried. I know it was from being off plan this weekend due to being sick. Going forward and today is a new day.

So far, so good! I have to admit I am nervous because I tracked my food plan for today and reviewed the calories! However, everything in the book makes sense to me, so I am going forward. My previous low carb life and starvation diets have NOT worked long-term. Halfway through my water-YAY. It's kind of fun having a nutritionist.

I am starting tomorrow! I got the phone app so I am hoping that helps- going to set all up (make snacks have all ready to go). Decaffeinating might be tough, but I'm sure worth it.

Oh yal, I had forgotten about that part! I can remember during the first week, I was VERY tired!! I was in bed each night by like 8 pm!!!!

But then it does get better, and you will feel better, you will have more energy. I think it lasted about a week, but I can't remember for sure off hand but yes, in the beginning, I do remember being very tired. emoticon

Thanks GOPINTOS...I am on day 3 and a new phase. So...I guess its so far so good. Today was the first time I have craved something...wanted sweet really bad. But figured I was bored and worked through it...biggest hurdle now is being sleepy. I thought I was going to have this great power surge but eh...nuthin! Oh well back to it. Thanks again!

You can do this!

Each phase is only a few days. I keep telling myself I can do anything for a few days!! And depending on how much you have to lose, it really is a lot of food. I am NEVER hungry.

And I hate to do structured exercise also, cardio anyways, so I was glad to see this is just a small part of her program. Cardio really is a stressor, and more and more studies are showing that you really don't need long slow cardio to lose weight. Some high intensity yes - very beneficial, some Strength training yes, but not long boring cardio. It just makes me even MORE HUNGRY!! That doesnt mean it isnt good for overall health, just not the best thing for losing weight.

ANYWAYS............ I get sidetracked.......... I know you can do this!!! emoticon

Today is my first day on the FMD...not sure how I feel about it. I LOVE eating...did I mention I LOVVVVE to eat. So restricting my tastebuds to things that I normall dont eat...very hard. I am sure I have 1 week in me to see if I can do it but please work with a weak soul...I have been down this path before...oh and I HATE to exercise...did I mention I HATEEEEE to exercise. See yah around...hopefully with less of me!

I am on Day 2 phase 1 and my husband and I found that eat the specific foods. cook big batches and freeze extras helps a lot. You do not have to eat everything or buy everything stick with foods you can get. Also follow the exercise plan. Different people feel the metabolism burn differently so that will take time to know when you are revving up.

Wow it was hard to eat everything today. I could not eat dinner until 8. I just was not hungry after lunch. I did good, feel good. Good. Lol

The morning was the hardest. That's the time I would eat junk even after having a bagel or eggs. I ate the celery instead. Fixed that!

Lunch was good but 6 oz of tuna was a bit much to me. I was so full after lunch

Ok later

I am here again in Week 2 down 2 pounds on my daily weight I had a new thought:

I had a inspiration you might say as I can tell when my metabolism is running higher than in the past I used to eat in order to not have a diabetic problem with low blood sugar. I contacted the doctor and he feels that the problem is more a pancreas problem not diabetic so he cannot get me scripts for the meter they gave me. Well I noticed that my weight has not moved any. Last night I had just eaten and had a small "burn" so I just went to bed as I had just eaten and this AM I noticed that the scale dropped 2 pounds. So I am going to try a slightly different approach from the past and not keep eating til the burn stops. I am on Phase 1 week 2.

7/29/13. 170 lbs goal is 145-150.
I start tomorrow on phase 1 day 1 at 170 pounds. I bought all my food for phase 1. I am ready to do this. I am a snacker when work is boring. I threw out all my go to snacks at work.

I did the 17 day and did really good but once I started to eat normal, I slowly put back the weight. So I was told this one teaches you to eat normal food. I am turning 51 and this
Weight thing was never an issue. I just had to think weight loss and it happened.
Just something else to fight as I get older. Lol.

Ok I will try and post my thoughts daily.

I have made a chart that lists all the portion sizes and also I made a list of all the foods for each phase that we have in stock. We need to check our in stock supplies and double check what is on the list as we need to use up our in stock as we have had foods spoil as we could not use them fast enough and they are not on the list of approved foods. I think we are on our way this time. So I am on Week 1 phase 1 and will be on phase 2 tomorrow.

This is my 2nd day of my 3rd wk on Phase 1.

I'm still making mistakes but I already passed my monthly Goal of losing 5 lbs a month.
I did that on Sat. the 13th then the next two days I gained 1.4 lbs (that scared me). But, I'm back on track today. Yesterday I was at 170.6 and today I'm at 169.2 lbs.

I Love this way of life with TFMD!!!!

Hugs,
Charlie

I'm starting my second week on Phase 1. I'm still new at this and haven't gotten my meal map made yet. That is what I will work on today.

I really started with a 2 page add in Woman's World mag. on June 21, 2013 and worked from that for 1 week.

Then on Mon., July 1, I started over, still with out the book until Wed. the 3rd.
I'm still reading it and have made a few mistakes but, I lost 3.4 lbs since July 1st. my first week I'm calling it.

I started with 2 servings of Steal Cut Oatmeal and a cup of honeydew with that this morning, then I read I should have had a 1.5 serving of oats. Still learning!

Hi there!! There is alot of information here and there on the team, and on Haylie's webpage, but the best place to start is with the book, imo. I think some have even got it from their library. I got mine for my computer, kindle cloud I think it is called, at Amazon. Best $12 I have ever spent!!!

I was a bit lax last week, but a new week starts today and I have my first 4 days planned out. Already this morning (after eating breakfast) I prepared my 2 snacks and lunch so I am ready to roll.

This time I swear I will add exercise!

Have a great week all!

made my salad last night, with salt and pepper, fresh garlic, oregano and chives, added some lemon juice and a little bit of raspberry vinegar. Tasted yum! Added some yellow peppers for some sweetness.

If I add anything to a salad I just squirt some lemon or lime juice, or a bit of balsamic.

I've been meaning to try and make a mixture of veggie broth and some herbs for a dressing. Like maybe broth, lemon, basil, garlic.

Ya know, one of my sons dated this girl, this tall skinny girl, and she was here for dinner one time, and ate her salad just plain. Just plain ole lettuce. I remember thinking hmmmm interesting.

And then one day I tried it, and it was actually okay w/o it!!!

Sometimes I just put a little balsamic on it. A little goes a long ways. emoticon

I also keep a frozen lemon in the freezer (where else would you keep a frozen lemon, duh) anyways, I freeze it so I can grate it, like in water, but also over a salad, and it really does add a nice little zesty zing to my salad.

Anyways... just "food for thought" ha

Phase 1 week 2.... still 7.4 pounds down since last Monday. I find this exciting and motivating. Didn't make our Spaghetti dinner last night, will have it tonight.. should still apply: lean ground beef, organic crushed tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, maybe zucchini and mushrooms with brown rice spaghetti... no salad though, since there is no fats and I do not know how to make salad dressing without oils...

I've been plateau'd for a while now, but starting the week with renewed vigor. I need to exercise. I've been pretty faithful to the plan, but stuck for almost 3 weeks.
