Hi All, I have been tracking my food for a few months now and I am down 15lb. While loosing the weight feels great I am discouraged by the pace at which my body has decided to unload the baggage. I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of food I eat at one sitting. I used to have no problem going out to dinner and eating an appetizer, entree and dessert. Now I share an appetizer and barely make it halfway through an entree and there is no room for dessert. I recently had my physical and learned that I am shrinking. I used to be a solid 5' 7" but two back surgeries later I am 5'5.75" which has adjusted my weight so I think part of my frustration is that I was almost to my goal weight but with the height change I still have I still have about 15lb to go. I know that slow and steady is much better than starving myself and wrapping myself in plastic wrap. Just have to keep my eye on the prize. I want to be the weight I was at my graduation on my 35th birthday on August 1. Happy Tracking, Mrs.Clark

Well, I am so thankful for the email I had encouraging me to introduce myself. I cannot say I have made any progress. I am bouncing between emotions lately. My mom has stage 3 throat cancer and is going to have radiation on her throat and chemo. So, that being said. I MUST take charge of my emotions and stop being a crybaby gorging on unhealthy snacks.

Hi all! I was going so strong and only 3 pounds away from my goal vacation weight (not my ultimate goal weight, but I had a vacation last week and had a set goal for that). Like I said, I was 3 pounds away and I tried to stay on target while I was on vacation but I knew I would stray... I gained 3 pounds while I was gone. So now I am 6 pounds from my goal vacation weight and feel terrible. I have started again today drinking lots of water and making sure to get in all of my veggies. So far so good. Thanks for the motivational topic!

WE ARE ALL WINNERS FOR SHOWING UP HERE EVERY DAY!!!!
I'm making slow but steady progress with changing my lifestyle to a healthier one. I am loving meeting Spark friends and sharing my journey with people in the same situation. I haven't lost any weight yet, but I am playing the long game and it is more important to get new habits in place at this stage. That said, I am excited to see the scales move down, so I hope it happens soon!
I hope everyone else is doing well! E_F x

I am so tired of just having a pretty face, I'm tired of being fat. I have been over weight my entire life, and I want to meet the smaller more confident version of me. I know she's in there just waiting to shine.

So far so good for me, even it it's that super-busy-end-of-school-year time for me. But I'm still on track. Trying to eat healthier is just a part of the change I'm trying to bring to my life: since starting here I've made the decision to go part time for the next school year. At this point in my life, time and simplicity are more important than money. It will be a huge challenge but I'm determined to make it work.

Hello All! Now that the semester is coming to a close I can get back to focusing on me. I have put off my weight loss & getting healthy. I want to get back in shape and eat healthier so that when I go back to school next semester I won't lose sight. It gets so difficult with school and working full time. I have been to more fast food restaurants this past 8 weeks than I have been to in a long time. New attitude, New focus......ME!

I think everyone gets to a certain point in their life when "they want to do better, be better". That is where I am now. My mom went up to heaven in January of this year, and having her with me for the last year was amazing (She lived in FL before that for 20 years). Life is a gift and i want to make the best of it and be able to enjoy the things I love (my daughter, my grandson, hiking, horse back riding). I had stopped being active for a few years now and it shows. NOW,,,, I'm getting back into it and today's goal is to walk six miles... and keep that up everyday.... I'm down 11 pounds in four weeks .... and so very pleased.

I'm tired of being overweight. It seems like no matter how hard I try, how much I want to be healthy, it's unattainable. The scary thing is when I look in the mirror I don't see what the camera portrays me as. I'm 5'3 and weigh 190 pounds. I'm an emotional eater/eater when there is nothing else to do. I like the feeling of fullness. If anyone has any suggestions for me I'd greatly appreciate them.

hello. I have been doing this for about two weeks. I have lost about 4 pounds. I am new at this and could use all the pointers I can get as far as setting around on this site. thanks. My motivation is just to be healthy. I had gastric bypass two and half years ago and I just don't want to gain my weight back and would like to lose about 5o - 70 more pounds to be where I want to be.

My motivation is to be an example to the people in my family, my church and my home. I want to look and feel great and be able to walk across the road when I get old. I was in a position where I lose weight or die. So I chose to lose weight. Now I want to finish this journey!

WOW!!!! I am SO VERY impressed to hear from so many of you!!! This is great! I want to take time to read each post . . . .
I have a 6 year old son who is EVERYTHING to me, he is my main motivation. I had awful eating habits, never exercised, and just felt blah all the time. I want to be healthy for a looong time, and be inspiration for my son to be healthy and strong as well!

Just like the rest of you I'm new here. Probably a little bit different from everyone else in the fact that by joinging up to Spark people it meant I found out I wasn't eating enough and had sent my body into starvation mode. I joined to lose a some kgs (yes I'm Aussie so we talk in kgs) but mostly to make sure I eat enough.
Most days I struggle to eat in my range and that's why if you looked at my tracker I have the most amount of food at dinner time. I hunt through the pantry to work out how to boost that pesky tracker over the 1200 mark..
Trick I have found is to keep a loaf of frozen wholemeal bread in the freezer. Then if desperate to get over that bottom limit, I can have a couple of pieces of toast. Dont get me wrong, I'm not starving myself during the day. Before getting home I've eaten 4 - 5 times but I have never been able to eat big meals. Its something I'm working on.
Anyway enough rambling
Just put one foot in front of the other and move it

My motivation is getting my blood sugar levels down and taking less insulin. The bonus is that I have lost a little weight and will someday (hopefully soon) be able to fit into my smaller sized clothes. Until recently I had no motivation to eat better or loose weight. Finally I made the decision to become healthier. I didn't like how I looked in the mirror and had gotten tired of trying to hide my fat rolls by wearing layers. It will be a great day when I can finally tuck a shirt into my pants and be comfortable.

Hi everyone! I'm still plugging away and feeling really motivated. So many positive people post on the forums and it is so encouraging! I have lost 7lbs since joining. I am sure it is mostly water weight but I really FEEL like I'm losing weight. Haven't lost any for about a week and I'm not sure if its better to weigh everyday or once a week but I feel so much better being active. It's literally like a happy pill! I know I will get discouraged but for now I'm gonna ride with the enthusiasm while I have it!!! Sure hope you are all feeling great learning new ideas too! The SP team leaders and members really make it hard not to be positive! Thanks :)

Hello! I'm tracking my food and adding some activity. My motivation is "iffy" some days. I've not lost any weight so far... in fact I've gained a couple of pounds. What is that about? I know SP works so I'll just keep working it until I get it right. Some bad food choices and things loaded with sodium do not help with this endeavor. Started a juice reboot this morning to help me kick start the weight loss and also to detox a bit. Out with the bad...in with the good. Lately the biggest motivator for me has been a virtual dressing room image. That was scary! A big dose of reality helped me put this in perspective and get me back on track. Hope you all are having a great week! RuthAnne

My next step will be to start swimming. I am currently 135.2 lbs and would like to aim for 120 lbs by the August ( I am 5 f ).
Been in this group is helping me a lot, thanks to all!

I am so new to this I am not even sure if this is where I am supposed to post. I am not doing very well this first month. I have been eating much healthier, better portions, cutting down carbs etc. But I can not get motivated to get active. I need an excercise buddy, someone to help me get up and get going. But I will keep on track as best I can. My son graduates in 5 weeks and I want to be down at least 5 lbs by then so that means I have to get moving.

I love this idea, Rosy! As for creating a SparkPage -- I also hesitated, but like AlwaysRosy, and as Fit4Me has said, the comments and support that people leave on my page are giving me both motivation and tangible help on how to stay involved and be successful at this.

It has been shown that group participation increases your success in weightloss and Rosy has offered an easy way to get involved. Sparkgoodies are so much fun! Your Sparkpage not only allows goodies, but allows others to encourage you personally and to celebrate your successes with you. Keeping a blog allows you to review what you have done and make changes as necessary if you are not progressing as you would like.
