I am going to start the 5K your way walking program tomorrow.

I have "The Spark", "SparkPeople Cookbook" and "Spark Solutions"

I set my ticker to my highest weight of 210 lbs because it gets upset and doesn't want to save when I gain weight instead of lose.

So many people have lost weight and become healthier with Leslie Sansone and you don't have to leave your house and you don't have to worry about the weather. emoticon

I did my one mile walk 2 days in a row now.....today will be day 3. It's easy to get out there when the weather is warm and sunny....but when its grey and chilly that's another story.

My intention is to get back in the habit of walking everyday now while the weather is good so that when the colder weather comes again I won't think twice about getting out there.

I remember getting this at one time on SparkPeople, it may have been from Marion. But thought it kind of benefits this challenge..............

http://www.walkathome.com/1-mile-walk-challenge/ it is only a 15 minute video from Leslie Sansone. She is very up beat and has allot of energy. On the days that I take my dog to the park, I do this video after I return from walking. It gives me some extra cardio and I need it because my dog is very slow. And I have used it on the days that I can't get out to the gym or the park. Thought everyone could enjoy this.........

If you want to plan a walking/running/biking route and measure the distance you can do it in your Fitness Tracker. Go to the tab "Map My Route" Put in your address and it will give you a map to trace where you want to start and end. You can set up more than one route and have it added to your tracker if you like.

Still waiting to hear back on my heart tests from last week but I've been increasing my walking a bit on the treadmill - I'm up from .9 to 1.35 speed and 20 mins to 25. It was a beautiful day here in Peterborough area and I was able to do some walking outside on a trip to Lindsay and do some shopping in two locations for about 1/2 hr at each. Felt good - exhausting, but good. Hope everyone else is getting nice weather too.

Canít find a full 30 minutes to walk? Spread it out throughout your day ó 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there will add up if you stick with it. In a Korean study, researchers found that walking 40 minutes all at once or breaking it into four 10-minute increments lowered participants blood pressure equally.

I have a treadmill and my goal is to walk on it every day of the week that I do not do Aquafit exercises - so that would be Mon, Wed and Fri's. Not so good this week - I skipped Monday because I didn't feel like it, and missed Aquafit today because of medical appointments and then didn't feel like doing the treadmill. I will try harder tomorrow.
When I first started a couple of weeks ago, I could only go at a speed of .9 for 10 mins, rest for 10 and go another 10. Last week I had it up to a speed of 1.3 for 10 mins, rest for 10 and go another 12. I want to get my speed up to 2.1 and go for 30 mins without a rest. We'll see if my heart can take it in my current condition. Might depend on the result of today's medical test. emoticon

I have a meeting today. But will challenge myself by parking a distance away from where my meeting is. Then come home and do my 1 mile walking video that I have saved on my computer. Then some other toning and cardio videos on here as well. Then to end my day with some yoga.

I know that many of us have allergies that prevent us from exercising outside. So don't exclude yourself from this challenge if you use a treadmill or do indoor walking. The intention here is to make a plan....get moving and make it a part of your healthy new lifestyle.

I walk on a treadmill 2 times per week for 20 minutes each day. I am waiting for the weather to get better before I can get outside to walk. It is to hard to walk in a coat. I get out of breath 5 minutes after I start walking if I wear a coat. I can walk longer and fast if I can wear a shorts outfit.

April 1st tried to fool me with some showers and I thought the walk would be a wash but the sun wins out in the end. Left @ 2.87 and returned @ 3.94 miles in about 21 mins(stopped and patted the neighbors cute Bulldog) so I got the 5 min rise!! emoticon

I will start this next week. Or could have accomplished that this week. As I walk the treadmill 30 minutes and have upped the speed on it. And I do this 1 mile walking video on the days I don't go to the gym. And I walk the dog 2 x's during the day to go to the bathroom.

This sounds like a good challenge.

This challenge is as simple and basic as it gets but the results are priceless emoticon

#1 Must walk at least 3 days per week
#2 Start week #1 by walking 10 - 15 minutes per day
#3 Each week you will add an additional 5 minutes per day until you have completed
one week of 30 minute walks
