Today I tried to go totally carb-less. About 10% of my calories came from carbs today. I did not miss it and I did not feel hungry. Tomorrow I will do it again.

I'm in. My average carbs is about 220 a day (goal is 172-306), so I'll aim for 200 all week. Great challenge for me, as I frequently need to push myself to get enough protein.

My plan that I follow allows me 160 grams of carbs per day, 1200 - 1500 calories:

Approx 45 grams per meal = 3 servings of carb, always eaten with a non-carb food

The balance of carbs is split between snacks.

Prior to this I was allowing myself 200 grams a day and when I reduced to 160 I did not even miss it.

When I started eating this way I usually came in under 1500.....felt less hungry.

There is no doubt about it that reducing the amount of unhealthy carbs you eat will help you lose weight. Yet it is most often the hardest to cut back on.

This challenge is to help us reduce our daily carb intake with small steps of 5% - 10% at a time.

If you track your nutrition you know exactly how many carbs you are eating right now.
Start with that number, reduce it by to 10% per day. If you are a real carb addict then start with just 5%. Don't set yourself up for failure with unrealistic numbers.

What ever information you want to share here that may help us in this challenge is always welcomed.

Post as often as you like...we are here to support each other in our success and struggles, to share what works and what does not.
